Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1100: My Sword Is My Dao

”Why are you here, Yunxiao?” Zhang Fei asked as he swallowed a few healing pills, especially since his injuries from the attacks just now were quite severe.

Luo Yunxiao immediately supported Zhang Fei and explained it. ”Husband, I know your worries, but you won’t be able to pass your lightning tribulations this time without me. You’ll die if you face them by yourself, so let me stay to help you.”

”But—”

”Have you forgotten what I did with your soul world?” Zhang Fei shook his head at Luo Yunxiao. ”I am your wife, and my physique was born for this kind of situation. Therefore, I will stay and help you through your lightning tribulations, and I will bring you back to my sisters.”

”I—”

”Master! They’re coming again!” Lei shouted from the distance.

As Zhang Fei looked at the lightning bolts from the third stage of the lightning tribulation, he immediately pulled Luo Yunxiao behind him and summoned the demon extermination sword. His five clones immediately lined up behind them before pulling out their respective swords. ”Yunxiao, I’ll try using my strongest sword techniques, and you can protect me from those lightning bolts.”

”Alright.” Luo Yunxiao nodded in agreement.

Zhang Fei and his five clones immediately assumed sword stances, their gazes fully focused on the lightning bolts hurtling toward them. They took a deep breath and activated their sword domains. ”My sword is my Dao; the heavens shall tremble before my sword! One sword, one strike, eliminate all obstacles before me! If you block my path, you will die! Even if all the realms fall, my sword will remain!”

Luo Yunxiao, who was standing behind Zhang Fei and his five clones, smiled faintly hearing those words from their mouths. ’Twenty years of seclusion were not in vain! Not only did he succeed in reaching the Five Celestial Realms, but he also succeeded in comprehending many Daos, including the Sword Dao!’

After they said that, their sword Qi flared up and gathered into one, forming a giant golden sword above them. Zhang Fei turned to his five clones, who nodded at him and lined up on either side of him. ”Back then, my master used this technique to stop the war on Earth, but his actions caused the Qi to disappear from that planet. Unlike my master, my swordsmanship is several levels higher than his at the time, so I don’t know what will happen to this domain if I use it here. I would rather not use it, but I have no other choice.”

”Are you going to use the other one too, husband?” Luo Yunxiao asked.

Zhang Fei nodded at her. ”There are six of us now; I and the other two will use the last sub-technique of the Forgotten Sword Technique, and the other three will use the last sub-technique of the Heaven-Severing Sword Technique. By the way, step back a bit, Yunxiao.”

Once Luo Yunxiao had stepped back a bit, Zhang Fei and his two clones slashed the swords in their hands. ”Final move: Sever the Heavenly Path!”

Meanwhile, Zhang Fei’s other three clones used a different technique while slashing their swords. ”Last move! Ashen Bloom!”

In that instant, the giant golden sword above them glided toward those lightning bolts. Three flurries of petals, formed from sword intent, bloomed from nothing before slashing towards those lightning bolts.

Zhang Fei and his five clones seriously looked at their two techniques, and those three flurries of petals destroyed everything in their path, including the clouds. Unlike them, the giant golden sword hurtled straight toward those lightning bolts.

Behind them, Luo Yunxiao clasped her hands together in front of her chest, and her heart pounded, anticipating the clash of her husband’s two sword techniques and those lightning bolts. She was also prepared to use the abilities of her special physique just in case her two techniques failed to stop them.

The people who witnessed the two techniques from below, including the members of the Luo Clan, were shocked by their effects.

As the clouds dissipated, the cultivators from the other domains could see Zhang Fei, his five clones, and Luo Yunxiao, which left them wondering about their identities.

They wanted to know their identities, but none of them had the crazy idea of approaching Zhang Fei and Luo Yunxiao. Not even the strongest among them dared to do so, especially with those lightning tribulations still ongoing.

A much louder explosion than before rang in everyone’s ears as the giant golden sword struck those lightning bolts, destroying seven of them, leaving only the prismatic and colorless lightning bolts. Unlike before, those colorless lightning bolts were unable to dispel Zhang Fei’s giant golden sword, mainly because he and his clones imbued the sword dao into it.

Not long after, the three flurries of petals swept across them, causing the prismatic and colorless lightning bolts to disappear from their sight. Both attacks from Zhang Fei and his clones kept shooting towards the core of Zhang Fei’s lightning tribulations.

Lei, who was watching it, was momentarily stunned. ”Hahaha! The heavens underestimate my master! They don’t know that he has mastered the Sword Dao and several other daos in the last twenty years! They won’t be able to defeat him if they don’t use the dao, but they will disturb the balance of this universe if they do.”

”Hehe.” Luo Yunxiao chuckled after seeing that. ”You don’t seem to need my help, husband.”

”You’re wrong about that,” Zhang Fei replied with a shake of his head, but his eyes were focused ahead of them. ”My techniques require quite a bit of preparation, and I can’t use them if those lightning bolts keep chasing me like before.”

After he said that, Zhang Fei and his five clones attacked the core of his lightning tribulations again. However, they only used the last sub-technique of the Forgotten Sword Technique, the Ashen Bloom. Instantly, six flurries of petals shot towards the core again, following their previous attack.

Luo Yunxiao looked around them before frowning. ”Husband, you should stop using that technique. Try to sense the Qi in this realm, especially in front of us. Everything disappeared without a trace, which happened because of the effect of your technique. Fortunately, the Qi in this domain is the Celestial Qi; however, if you continue to use it, it will likely disappear completely, just like it did on Earth.”

Zhang Fei himself had expected that to happen, but he was quite surprised, especially since the Celestial Qi didn’t disappear completely even though he had used the Ashen Bloom nine times. Back then, Han Ling had only used the technique once, but the Qi in the Earth completely disappeared, and it never returned.

Soon, all of Zhang Fei and his five clones’ attacks struck the core of his lightning tribulations, weakening it. However, it did not disappear like the previous lightning bolts, and it remains powerful. Once again, it threw forth another set of lightning bolts.

Zhang Fei and his five clones immediately used their mastery in sword dao again, but they no longer created a giant golden sword like before. Instead, a giant golden bow appeared in front of them with nine golden arrows, all of which were made from their Sword Intent.

They shot these golden arrows toward those nine lightning bolts, eliminating seven of them immediately before colliding with the remaining two.

”Husband, try to create the golden sword again.” Zhang Fei nodded to Luo Yunxiao and created it directly, but she immediately floated to the side of the sword and touched it.

”Hmm?” Zhang Fei raised an eyebrow as the golden sword became twice as large as its original form. ”What did you do to it, Yunxiao?”

”Hehe.” Luo Yunxiao giggled and returned to his side. ”According to Big Sis Yao, my physique has the ability to reverse the natural flow of Heaven and Earth, allowing me to manipulate yin and yang. Yin and Yang are the foundation of everything, such as day and night, life and death, and creation and destruction. I used it to enlarge its size and strengthen its offensive power, but I’m not confident it will be able to destroy its core. Therefore, you have to try it yourself, and I hope it can destroy it directly, so we won’t waste any more time.”

”Alright.” Zhang Fei launched the golden sword, strengthened by Luo Yunxiao, towards the core.

However, the core of Zhang Fei’s lightning tribulations suddenly launched several sets of lightning bolts directly to stop his attack, causing it to collide with them head-on. Unlike before, his golden sword directly destroyed those lightning bolts and shot at the core, which surprised him.

Zhang Fei suddenly had another idea, and he took out the Heaven Creation Furnace before enlarging it until it was bigger than the core of his lightning tribulations. Once he cancelled his sword technique, he sent the furnace toward the core, and it immediately swallowed it.

Inside the furnace, the core continued to release lightning bolts; however, the furnace’s materials and internal formation prevented any of them from escaping, including the colorless lightning bolts.

Zhang Fei immediately teleported Luo Yunxiao to the top of the furnace, and he sat in front of it before using all his flames, sending them inside. ”I’ve never done this before, so I don’t know if this will work, but I’ll try refining the core.”

Luo Yunxiao was confused about Zhang Fei’s purpose for doing that, but she didn’t disturb him and stood quietly behind him, waiting for the results of his experiment.
