Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1711: Chapter 1712: Lodging a Complaint

Mother Qi listened to the laughter from outside the room, including Qi Xiaoqi’s cheerful, bell-like laughter, and suddenly felt immensely lonely, somewhat feeling out of place.

Clearly, she is Qi Xiaoqi’s biological grandmother, the matriarch of this family, so why does she feel like an outsider?

Thinking again about Mother Cheng’s words, her heart felt even more uncomfortable. Is it really such a big deal just to feed a few mouthfuls of food?

She thought of deciding not to feed him anymore and let him go hungry, but this was only a thought that flashed through her mind. To actually say this would mean pushing her grandson away; they were already not close, and doing this would make them even less so.

Mother Qi listened to the laughter outside, sighed, and couldn’t help but walk out again.

Both grandparents were present. After attending a class in the afternoon, Cheng Su went straight to the Joy Soon Loy Jam factory, where she discussed company development with Xiao Pinshan and talked about building a factory in the South. Once the factory there is completed, some technicians will definitely need to be sent over.

And if the factory there becomes a large one, whether this small factory should be completely relocated is still uncertain.

So she first gave Xiao Pinshan a heads-up, and then visited Ying Xiaoya’s father, Ying Jian, to understand Qing City’s future development plans.

Not until dusk did Cheng Su return home, where she chatted with her father-in-law for a while and played with her son before retreating to the study to write down various development plans.

When going to bed at night, Cheng Su heard complaints from her mother. Hearing about Mother Qi’s behavior made her frown.

“…Xiaoqi refuses to eat, this child is really sharp. I’ve told you, don’t talk to your mother-in-law about it; I’ve already hinted at it today. After today’s incident, she probably won’t dare do it again.” Mother Cheng whispered.

Cheng Su said, “Since you’ve mentioned it, I’ll pretend I don’t know. If she continues, in the future, I won’t dare let her take care of the child; it’s up to her.”

“Exactly. Actually, Xiaoqi is sharp; most kids wouldn’t know what’s dirty. Even if you gave them a handful of dung, they’d stick it in their mouths, not to mention feeding.” Mother Cheng groaned.

Cheng Su couldn’t help but laugh and cry: “Mom, can’t your metaphor be more refined, this…”

Mother Cheng glanced at her coldly: “Didn’t you do it when you were little? No one to look after you, and you played with your mess, smeared it all over your face, absolutely filthy!”

Cheng Su imagined that scene, groaned, felt sick to her stomach, and waved her hand: “Okay, okay, stop talking, it’s making me nauseous.”

Mother Cheng gave her a nudge and continued: “This fussiness is unique to our family, and you’re the fussiest. But being fussy has its benefits; in this big courtyard, there’s no cleaner kid than our Xiaoqi, and the other wives, they all praise him and love him.”

Her words were filled with pride.

Cheng Su just looked at little Qi Xiaoqi, who was trying hard to stick his toes in his mouth, and hesitated, thinking, ‘Son, are you really my son?’

Qi Xiaoqi seemed to sense her gaze, turned his head, and smiled at her silly.

“By the way, since your in-laws are here, why don’t I go back to the old home for a few days? I wonder how your dad is managing alone!” Mother Cheng added.

Qi Xiaoqi perked up his ears, looked at his grandma, made a few noises, and nimbly turned over to crawl toward her.

Cheng Su found it amusing and deliberately said, “Mom, if you miss dad, just go back and visit; only, if you do, I fear Xiaoqi won’t be willing to let you go!”

Mother Cheng indeed hesitated, and Qi Xiaoqi used both hands and feet to climb onto her face, planting a kiss that made her abandon the thought.

Qi Xiaoqi was satisfied now, but why was there such a sinister look in his mother’s eyes?
