Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1704 - 1705: Raising a Child Daily

In February, the university started the semester, already the second half of the junior year, and the coursework was lighter compared to previous years. Because Qi Taiguo was not around, Cheng Su purposely spent more time with Qi Xiaoqi. Firstly, to comfort his fragile heart, and secondly, to comfort herself since the head of the family was not present, it’s good for the mother and son to rely on each other, isn’t it?

But Qi Xiaoqi, regardless of whether Qi Taiguo was there or not, still wore the same old expression, eating when he needed to eat, sleeping when he needed to sleep, without any awareness of his dad’s absence.

And in February, Qi Xiaoqi turned seven months old. After having a fever, he gradually grew two little cute teeth, like tiny rice grains, which delighted Cheng Su to no end. She specifically pried open his mouth and took a photo to send to Qi Taiguo. Poor Qi Xiaoqi, that photo was a historical humiliation indeed.

As Qi Xiaoqi grew teeth, Cheng Su herself slowly began to wean. No matter how much papaya carp soup she ate, it just wasn’t enough for her son. Instead, he had to rely on formula and solid food. So she thought it might as well be time to wean.

Cheng Su had watched Cancan’s weaning process according to Guiying’s approach, which was quite challenging. He refused to wean, cried, and fussed endlessly. Guiying found it hard to let go, leading to repeated weaning failures. Not until the age of one did she send the child back to her hometown for a month, and only then did the weaning succeed.

So Cheng Su thought all kids were like this because she had seen it more than once. But when it came to her own son, she simply didn’t have much milk, so Qi Xiaoqi just stopped drinking it and switched straight to formula and other solid foods, thriving into a chubby, healthy little guy. Weaning turned out to be nothing like she imagined it to be.

With her son off breast milk, Cheng Su was no longer so tied down, especially since Qi Xiaoqi was easygoing. As long as he had something else to eat, he was fine as long as he was full. Even without Cheng Su, he wouldn’t fuss. This gave her time to handle business matters and go to school.

However, Cheng Su only occasionally dealt with business matters. Her main focus remained on accompanying her son. Why? It stemmed from her intentions from a few years ago, and also because she felt sorry for Qi Xiaoqi since his dad wasn’t around!

With Dad not at home, it’s one thing, but if Mom is also never home, that would be too pitiful. So whenever Cheng Su could accompany her son, she did. Whenever she could take him out, she brought him along. The bond between mother and son was growing better day by day, and Qi Xiaoqi finally showed signs of beginning to rely on her!

When Cheng Su saw her son relying on her, she started chatting with him, not caring whether he could answer. They could spend half a day with their duck-and-chicken talk.

Thus, in the daily dialogues of raising a child, such conversations often occurred in the Qi family.

”Xiaoqi, what did you eat today?”

”Ah.”

”Rice pudding? Congee? Rice pudding is delicious, right? I also think your grandma makes it well, sweet and tasty. Rice pudding crust is even more fragrant...”

”...”

Or like this.

”Son, do you miss Daddy?”

”Ah ah.”

”Oh, you can call him Daddy now? You must really miss him, we should let him know, let’s go call your dad.”

”...” Qi Xiaoqi was very upset. He actually didn’t want to; it was her own wishful thinking.

And more like.

”Qi Xiaoqi, go grab that little chicken for mommy. Which little chicken? Yes, oh, so good, mommy gives you a kiss!”

”...” Qi Xiaoqi’s tender heart was heavily struck. He wasn’t a puppy, okay? Could she stop ’training’ him like this?
