Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 243: Chapter 243: It Was I Who Saved Your Life

Qi Taiguo insisted on being discharged from the hospital the next day; he wanted to return as soon as possible, and besides, this mission had been delayed long enough!

”Haha, Old Qi, are you missing your wife?” Ma Guangshe said with a laugh.

Qi Taiguo’s face was still quite pale as he replied, ”The mission is completed, it’s time to go back!”

”Yes, you can rest assured, your merit this time won’t be overlooked. If it hadn’t been for your detection of Sun Tianlong’s issues, we might still be stuck here,” Sun Tianlong said, patting his shoulder.

Qi Taiguo modestly smiled, ”It’s all about serving the people and serving the country, it was my duty.”

”I admire your modesty,” Ma Guangshe laughed, ”Brother, I’ve heard of your great reputation for a long time. Fighting shoulder to shoulder with you this time has also been an honor for old Ma. Let’s keep in touch more often!”

”Definitely!” Qi Taiguo smiled and nodded.

”Commander, that woman is coming!” Wan Dahe pointed in a direction.

Qi Taiguo turned around and saw a woman with big wavy curls walking this way, somewhat puzzled.

”Hasn’t Dahe told you?” Ma Guangshe said, seeing his bewildered expression, and pointed to the woman who was approaching, ”That’s Chiang Qing, the female military doctor from the Sixty-Fifth Battalion, a comrade-in-arms. She came here to collect herbs for research, and luckily, she brought antibiotics and such. Otherwise, who knows if you could have made it to the hospital. You should really thank her properly!”

Wan Dahe grimaced at the side, ”That may be true, but her mouth is too sharp!” He didn’t have any fondness for this military doctor.

While they were talking, Chiang Qing approached, greeted Ma Guangshe first, then looked at Qi Taiguo with bright eyes and smiled, ”It seems Commander Qi is much better now!”

Qi Taiguo casually scanned her and replied with a light smile, ”I heard that Miss Chiang saved my life. For such a great favor, words of thanks aren’t enough. I, Old Qi, will remember this kindness!”

Chiang Qing raised an eyebrow, flicked the curls on her head, and looked at Qi Taiguo with her almond-shaped eyes, ”Oh? Is that what they’re saying?” She shrugged and continued, ”Then remember, Commander Qi, it was I, Chiang Qing, who saved your life!”

”What are you talking about? Clearly, our commander also saved himself,” Wan Dahe muttered on the side.

Chiang Qing chuckled softly.

Qi Taiguo frowned and scolded, ”Dahe!”

”No harm done. The kid doesn’t know any better, I don’t blame him!” Chiang Qing said with a smile, looking at their stance she asked, ”Commander Qi, Commander Ma, are you guys returning to your unit?”

”Yes! And are you off to look for more herbs, Doctor Chiang?” Ma Guangshe asked with an amiable face.

Chiang Qing was quite a beautiful woman, stylish and good-looking, and also a doctor. Such a woman always commands a few extra glances.

However, this didn’t include Qi Taiguo; he was just talking to Dahe about something!

”I’m also heading back to the battalion. It was just a short leave this time,” Chiang Qing replied while looking towards Qi Taiguo.

She had to admit, Qi Taiguo piqued her interest. Of all the soldiers present, whose eyes weren’t stealthily glancing her way, except his.

She was quite confident in her looks and charm, yet this tall and handsome man didn’t seem to think so.

”Commander Ma, if that’s the case, we’ll be leaving first!” Qi Taiguo said to Ma Guangshe.

”Aye, take care on your way, until we meet again.”

”Until we meet again,” Qi Taiguo said with a smile, then nodded at Chiang Qing, and strode away.

Chiang Qing watched his retreating figure, her eyes flickering slightly, revealing a great deal of interest in the depths of her gaze.
