Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 221: Chapter 221: If You Dare to Risk Your Life, I Will Remarry

Cheng Su and Qi Taiguo tidied themselves up before lying back down.

”What did you just say? That I don’t care about you, that I’m not worried about you?” Cheng Su, exhausted, suddenly remembered what he had said during their intimate moment. What did that mean?

Seeing her ask, Qi Taiguo immediately responded with a mournful tone, ”Won’t you admit it? When I said I was going on a mission, that there was danger over there, you seemed as if you didn’t care at all. If it were another woman, she would have been scared to death by now.”

Upon hearing this, Cheng Su snorted with laughter, turned over to look at him, and chuckled, ”So because of this, you’re tossing and turning and can’t sleep?”

Qi Taiguo grunted, ”I am your man, your husband. I’m about to go on a mission, shouldn’t you be scared and worried?”

Cheng Su giggled, ”If I were like that, would it satisfy you? Make you happy?”

Qi Taiguo also looked at her and said, ”Not really. I just feel like you don’t care about me.”

A hurt look appeared in his eyes and Cheng Su’s heart softened. She snuggled into his embrace, resting on his strong arms, kissed his lips, and said, ”You really are a fool.”

Qi Taiguo held her in his arms, and she continued, ”What I said is true, you know. I believe in your abilities. As for worrying, because I believe in you, I know you will come back unscathed, so I don’t show it.”

Of course, Cheng Su wouldn’t reveal the whole truth and said, ”To say I’m not worried at all would be a lie. I’m human, full of emotions and desires. You are my man, of course I worry about you. But with your departure imminent, I don’t want to add to your burden. You should know that you have a family, responsibilities. Keep that in mind always, and you will remember the weight on your shoulders.”

”You...”

Cheng Su covered his lips, saying, ”Qi Taiguo, I understand your aspirations, your dreams, your ambitions. I’m working hard to climb up so I can stand shoulder to shoulder with you. And I believe it’s the same for you, trying hard to reach the same heights as me. So, should I stop you from going because it’s dangerous?”

Qi Taiguo was deeply moved because she understood him!

”So, if you have to go on a mission, then go. If you want to earn military honors, then do your best. Just remember to stay alive. As for the home front, don’t worry about that, I’m here!” Cheng Su said with a smile.

”You, what am I supposed to say to you!” Qi Taiguo, deeply touched, held her tightly.

But before he could relish the moment, Cheng Su ’threatened’ him, ”However, you must protect your life. As long as you live, everything is possible, there’s a chance. Let me tell you, if you dare to be reckless with your life, I will not remain loyal to your memory!”

Qi Taiguo’s breath caught, as he squeezed her waist and glared at her.

Cheng Su glared right back, undaunted, ”If you dare to make the ultimate sacrifice, I will at most mourn for three years, and then I’ll remarry! If you don’t want to see me marry another man, bear his children, you had better stay alive.”

These words were both sour and bitter to Qi Taiguo. He hugged her close and said, ”You really are ruthless!”

Cheng Su rested on his chest in silence, her eyes slightly warming. If it really came to that day, could she do as she had said?

”If that’s the case, even if you remarry, I won’t blame you!” Qi Taiguo said, stroking her head. ”How can I bear to see you alone?”

”Qi Taiguo.” Cheng Su was irritated.

”But just think about it, Cheng Su. In this life, you will only have me as your husband. I will definitely live a long, long life.” Qi Taiguo’s eyes shone, and he leaned down to kiss her deeply.
