Summoners: One Golden Term per Level

A few days later.

Calypso was eating roast chicken, looking at Shen Fei with admiration, ”So you also killed Ares’ War Bull?!”

That was Ares, the Main God who held the Divine Authority of War.

Shen Fei directly slayed his mount.

It was akin to urinating in the Artemis Temple, a direct provocation towards Ares.

Yet no one expected Shen Fei to survive until now.

Calypso naturally didn’t know that this was due to Apollo’s assistance.

Apollo led the War Bull to a city with weaker faith in Ares.

If it had stayed in a city with profound faith in Ares, the War Bull wouldn’t even need to make a move.

The city’s nobles and guards would have joined forces to first resist Shen Fei, eventually having the War Bull with full support from Ares.

With Shen Fei’s power, he wouldn’t stand a chance.

As for why Ares didn’t directly appear to trouble Shen Fei after the War Bull’s death, it was because Artemis and Apollo were backing him.

In Ares’ eyes, Shen Fei was merely a tool for Artemis to strike back.

When Shen Fei confronted the War Bull,

Ares already knew that his plot had likely been exposed. Before it was discovered, he could take advantage of the information gap to give Artemis a hard blow.

Once discovered, it would naturally come down to whose methods were superior.

The battle between Shen Fei and the War Bull was considered a fair duel. If a Divine Spirit intervened, it would violate the rules.

The War Bull died because its skills were inferior.

Ares could at most remotely control other things to trouble Shen Fei. If he dared to intervene personally, Athena would also step in.

A divine war would be unavoidable then.

Calypso naturally didn’t understand the underlying complexities.

Shen Fei, the Moon God, and others wouldn’t tell her.

After all, Ancient Greece was only an illusion; they were merely using Calypso.

However, what made the Moon God and others a bit guilty was that Calypso wasn’t as complicated as they imagined.

Instead, she was exceptionally simple.

The previous two-choice dilemma she created was just because she was abandoned by Odysseus and was upset. The worst outcome was turning one person into a pig and keeping them on the island.

The talk of life or death was merely to scare Shen Fei.

”To pass through the Strait of Messina, you have to choose either the Great Vortex or the path near Scylla. The former is more difficult, as it swallows and expels water three times a day, forming a massive vortex.

If pulled in, even I find it hard to escape, while Scylla is simpler, requiring the sacrifice of six people to pass...”

Calypso said, ”Back then, Odysseus had to sacrifice six people to traverse the strait.”

When Calypso mentioned Odysseus, her expression didn’t change at all. She now loved Shen Fei.

Who was Odysseus, really? Not familiar at all!

Those who died long ago should just rest peacefully in history and not impact those who are still alive.

She added, ”Scylla’s desire to eat people has nothing to do with my Witchcraft. Before my Magic Potion fully transformed her into a Sea Siren, she already behaved this way.”

”That’s why I say Odysseus was an ungrateful and blind dog.”

Shen Fei laughed, ”We know you’re so kind and wouldn’t create such harmful things.”

Calypso blushed at Shen Fei’s words, her cheeks and pointed ears turning red, but she hesitated.

”And you all...”

Calypso looked at Shen Fei, the Moon God, and the Jasper Pool, puzzled why only three people were returning to Ida Island, along with a cow.

According to them, Shen Fei himself wasn’t aware of his lineage. Who knew the King of Ida Island suddenly passed away?

No public testament was left denoting to whom the throne should be passed, except Shen Fei, who was the most legitimate Prince by law.

So whether or not Shen Fei eventually inherits the throne, he must go back.

The situation was so rushed, they couldn’t quickly assemble a large group. The encounters along the way, including slaying the War Bull, were merely events they met on their return journey.

”Then you have to take the route of the Great Vortex,” Calypso said, noting that this was the most troublesome.

Compared to Scylla’s path,

The Great Vortex, though regular, allows a very limited passage time, requiring not only normal sailing but at extremely high speed. Besides, according to these three people,

Their ship was already damaged on the previous island, and they relied on the water-treading Skill granted by the Divine Spirit to reach here.

But Shen Fei suggested, ”Shouldn’t we just slay Scylla completely?

She’s not as kind-hearted as you are.

For so long, every fleet passing through the Strait of Messina has had to sacrifice at least six people to her.”

”She has killed so many; shouldn’t we rid her completely?”

Although Calypso was happy with Shen Fei’s compliment about her kindness, she still hesitated.

”She is the offspring of the Sea God, albeit an Ancient Sea God, but if you kill her, you might face various calamities at sea afterward.”

”I don’t want you hurt!” Calypso looked at Shen Fei.

Even in the worst times, Calypso merely turned Scylla into an ugly creature, never intending to kill her.

Not to mention whether it’s possible to kill her.

But Scylla is a Demigod, meaning there is a Divine Spirit backing her.

If a Demigod is killed, the Divine Spirit behind might not bear it and erupt in fury, a wrath which even Calypso might not withstand.

”So many have died at her hands, if she’s left be, more will die in the future.”

”Regarding the offspring of the Sea God, I dared to kill Ares’ mount, so what is an offspring of an Ancient Sea God?”

Shen Fei’s voice was filled with enthusiasm, exciting Calypso. Truly, he was the man she loved.

Full of remarkable courage.

”You’ll help me, won’t you?”

Shen Fei looked at Calypso. At that moment, overwhelmed with affection, Calypso nodded repeatedly, ”Though I might not have a solution, the God Hecate surely has!”

’Hecate?’

Shen Fei, the Moon God, and the Jasper Pool exchanged glances, thinking Calypso was backed only by Helius, but there was another God?

”Hecate?” Shen Fei was perplexed. He knew only of the present Main Gods. Though the Artemis Temple housed many ancient records and secrets,

it didn’t mean all Gods were documented; some from much earlier times might be unknown even to Artemis, let alone recorded in her temple.

”Follow me.” Calypso said with a happy smile, setting down the roast chicken, her small face filled with the joy of sharing.

Sharing with the one you love what you know and own brings joy. In the past, she also shared with Odysseus...

No matter, he’s long dead, no need to mention him again.

Shen Fei and the others followed Calypso, listening to her words.

”Aia Island is located in the Oceanus Sea, to the east, not far from the entrance to the Netherworld.”

”The God I worship is Hecate, a Divine Spirit in the Netherworld. I am also her Priest. She’s very powerful, the protector of all Witchcraft!”

Calypso led the three to another side of Aia Island, where a stone-paved path led along, ending at a timeworn Divine Hall entwined with vines.
