Supreme Husband System! & Supreme Wife System!

Chapter 979 - 980: Ireneʼs request.

The other three anomalies were also running smoothly.

Arabel and the othersʼ foresight allowed them to avoid clashing with other groups, and they were able to fully focus on their research.

The group led by Esma encountered a tangle of huge Golden-ranked water snakes in the east, which occupied the water pearl deposits.

In the north, Arabelʼs group encountered a pack of Golden-ranked snow wolves hunting other animals.

And in the east, Linaʼs group discovered deposits of rare metals that appeared under the influence of a hail of lightning strikes.

”As expected, the beasts have really gained an affinity with the elements,” Arabel said as she watched the snow wolves use the ice element.

Before the Third Disaster, the evolved Beasts of their world had no affinity with the elements.

A beast without elements was almost comparable to, and even slightly stronger than, an Awakened One with an Ordinary System.

Now, a Beast with an affinity for the elements has become comparable to the Awakened Ones, who have a Rare System.

After the wolves were destroyed, the group began to collect the Soul Flowers of the Beast before continuing their research.

During this process, Arabel noticed Irene, who was staring into space.

”Is something wrong?” Arabel asked, trying to get her attention.

”Huh? What?” asked Irene in response.

”Did something happen to you?”

”Oh, no, nothing,” Irene shook her head, then noticed that the group was waiting for the Flowers to ripen before picking them.

”Belle,” Irene said, using Arabelʼs short name. Usually, only those closest to her addressed her that way.

Although Irene was her husbandʼs older sister and the woman her brother loved, she always addressed her by her full name.

”I want to pass the Ascension trial and reach the Platinum rank,” Irene stated with confidence. Then, using her Soul Force, she continued, ”This area, the Anomaly, is perfect for this. Even my System confirms that almost all the conditions are met, and I can try to pass the trial.”

Arabel was extremely surprised.

”Are you sure about this?” she asked.

”I donʼt want to wait any longer. I want to break through to the Platinum rank and be useful to you and my brother.”

”But… I need your help,” she added.

Arabel was touched by Ireneʼs sincere desire to help her and Idan. She couldnʼt help but respond to her request.

”What do you want me to do?”

”I need you to create a space with a high concentration of the ice element using the energy of the Anomaly.” Irene said decisively, voicing her request.

”A space with a high concentration of the element of ice?” Arabel raised her eyebrows in surprise. ”Wait, youʼre not going to...”

”Yes, I plan to enter there and use the energy of the Anomaly to begin my Ascension Trial.”

Arabel hesitated only for a moment. Seeing the determination and confidence in Ireneʼs eyes, she recalled her first two Ascension trials and decided to support her aspirations.

Without asking any questions, Arabel used her [Ice Creation — Level 4] ability to create a huge empty cube.

Her action attracted the attention of the other guild members.

”Whatʼs sis up to?” Lucinda asked.

”Irene wants to take the Ascension trial, and she needs a unique space to do it,” Arabel announced with an unexpected revelation, stunning everyone.

”Is that true?” Arslan, who was the most amazed of all, quickly ran up to Irene to hear her answer.

While the rest of the guild members watched them with some envy, most of them were Awakened Ones with Ordinary Systems. Ever since the world entered the middle stage, they couldnʼt advance until they raised the rarity of their Systems to a Rare Level.

Even if the seal of the Systems was removed, they had no way to pass the ascension test. And the chance to increase the rarity of the Systems, which their Systems mentioned, has not yet appeared, and no one knew when it would happen.

Many still believed that the chance would appear by the end of the Third Disaster, and they are looking forward to this moment.

Having created an ice cube, Arabel began to fill it with the energy of the Anomaly ice element.

”Are you sure you can handle it?” — Arslan asked Irene with concern, taking her hands and feeling how cold they were.

Arslanʼs concern and the warmth of his hands gave Irene warmth, and she smiled at him.

Seeing this rare smile of Irene, Arslan was charmed and remembered one of the reasons why he was in love with her.

”Iʼm sure,” Irene said, refusing to admit that she couldnʼt handle it.

She didnʼt want to leave her beloved son without a mother.

”Itʼs done,” — she heard Arabel say.

Irene turned to her and saw a perfect cube filled with ice—exactly what she needed.

”Irene,” — came the voice of Arslan, who was holding her hands. She turned to him.

Suddenly, he released her hands, pulled her to him and kissed her on the lips, catching her off guard.

She wanted to push him away, but feeling Arslanʼs sincerity and concern, she couldnʼt resist. She even hugged him back and returned his kiss, and her cheeks quickly blushed.

”Oh!” said Arabel and Lucinda, and they looked at each other and smiled.

The other Guild members, who already knew about the coupleʼs difficult relationship, also smiled. Some even envied Arslanʼs courage and would like to be in his place.

Who wouldnʼt want to be paired with a beauty like Irene?

Arslan did not immediately let go of Irene after the kiss, watching her flushed face with tenderness. She, in turn, was in no hurry to break their eye contact.

Only after a while did Irene, taking a deep breath, pull away and, without saying a word, went to Arabel. Arslan, having watched her go, remained standing in place.

”Good luck,” — Arabel said as Irene took one last look at her and took a step inside the cube.

As soon as she was inside, a huge amount of ice surrounded her, and a system notification appeared in front of her eyes.:

[Ding! All conditions are met. Start the Ascension Trial?]

Irene herself did not fully understand why her third Ascension Test required a completely different requirement, especially using the element of ice Anomaly.

Closing her eyes and feeling that her Soul Power would not be able to resist for long, she opened them and said:

”Yes, go ahead.”

[Ding! The third Ascension Trial ”Silence of the Empty Frost” will begin in 3 seconds]

[Three.] — The countdown has started.

”Huh? The Silence of the Empty Frost?”

[Two.]

[One.]

As soon as the count ended, Ireneʼs consciousness plunged into darkness, and the next moment she found herself in an endless white-gray space where there was no sky, no earth, no sounds.
