Chapter 978 - 979: The beginning to explore the middle layer of Anomalies

”Everything is going according to plan”, — Arabel thought with relief, assessing the state of all four expedition groups and how everyone had taken action.

She was assisted in this by Milena, who was not included in any of the four groups, but remained with Arabel as her assistant. She closely followed the chat of {Talisman of the Whisper} and regularly updated the summary.

Milena herself wanted to join one of the groups, but due to the unkind interest of the Creatures of Light and Darkness in her, it was decided to leave her in the Kingdom to ensure safety while the main forces are busy collecting resources and searching for the seeds of law.

Besides Arabel and Milena, Leo was in the living room, closely monitoring the situation in the Central Continent beyond the Anomalies.

”Is there any news from Felicia?” Arabel asked Milena.

”She hasnʼt contacted us yet,” Milena shook her head.

”Hmm...” Arabel thought.

As one of the potential best spies and possibly the future secret blade of the Kingdom, Felicia continued her activities in the Capital. She closely followed all the actions of the Federation Council, the Association of Awakened and New Forces, one of which was the Shadow Syndicate.

”I guess sheʼs either busy with something or hasnʼt discovered anything interesting yet.”

Arabel did not allow the thought that anything bad could happen to Felicia.

In terms of understanding the elements of space, Felicia was the best person Arabel had ever known. Well, not counting the little sweet lover, who was currently enjoying the rewards she had received from seven days of relentless ”plundering” of the citiesʼ resources with Octo.

Arabelʼs attention shifted to the information provided by Irina. Especially at the point where it was reported that both Serafina and Rezkar had chosen a Fire Anomaly.

”It canʼt be a coincidence,” she whispered.

”I agree,” Milena said, hearing her whisper and immediately understanding what Arabel was thinking.

”Both Serafina and Rezkar know that Idan has an affinity with the element of Fire,” she continued.

”Most likely, both of them, realizing this, chose a Fire Anomaly and targeted him and our group,” Milena voiced Arabelʼs concerns.

”Itʼs a pity that Irina chose the Ice Anomaly, otherwise we would have found a way to contact her and find out what Serafina was up to,” Arabel said regretfully.

Having received valuable information from Irina, Arabel was not going to deviate from her obligations. Lucinda was aware of the situation and, if necessary, had to help Irina when they both entered the Central Layer and met.

Until then, the expedition groups of the Kingdoms at the beginning of their journey in the four Anomalies had a very low chance of encountering other expedition groups.

Before going to the Anomalies and opening the portals, the doppelgangers were told to move from the opposite side of the entrance of the four expedition groups to avoid conflict.

The outer boundaries of the anomalies were vast, and it wasnʼt easy to meet there.

The middle layer was already smaller, and the chances would increase over time.

But in the Central Layer, it is unlikely to be possible to avoid a collision at the moment of the appearance of the seeds of law.

As time passed, all four expedition groups spent the night getting used to the harsh conditions of the Anomalies. Only in the morning, having gained confidence, they began to explore the middle layer of Anomalies one by one.

Every Awakened One who agreed to participate in this expedition had already realized that their choice was the right one.

The stage of adaptation to the harsh conditions of Anomalies has brought great benefits to everyone.

In the West, under Esmaʼs leadership, the Guild members were constantly faced with the powerful pressure of the elements of water and wind.

In the East, under Linaʼs careful supervision, another group was experiencing a constant cycle of lightning strikes and healing, tempering their bodies.

In the North, under Arabelʼs control, the group faced freezing cold, biting gusts of wind.

And in the South, the Awakened Ones experienced unbearable heat, poisonous gases, and the pervasive vibrations of the earth element.

All the participants of the expeditions felt their control over the Soul Forces becoming stronger under the influence of controlled danger. This proved that only by overcoming difficulties could oneʼs body be tempered.

As a result, resources no longer seemed to be the most valuable asset of this expedition. Valuable experience that could not be obtained under normal conditions came to the fore.

When all four groups were in the middle layer, they began to explore the area in search of resources and beasts.

The search didnʼt take long.

The beasts that were able to adapt to the conditions of the middle layer, like Awakened Ones, were actively looking for resources. When they found them, they formed groups and held these places, fighting other beasts.

For the Awakened, it was a double joy.

Golden-ranked beasts were valuable sources of resources in themselves, and having deposits near them made hunting even more enjoyable.

Idan and the other Guild members, whose strength exceeded Platinum Rank, ceded the right to fight to their comrades, allowing them to gain experience and intervening only if necessary.

All the beasts they encountered were Golden-ranked beasts. No matter how they searched, they couldnʼt find a single Platinum Beast.

This indicated that all the Platinum-ranked beasts were in the Central Anomaly Layer, where the seeds of law would appear soon. They were most likely targeting these resources.

”Great job,” Idan said, approaching the group members after they had successfully fought the first group of mutated fire lizards guarding the deposits of fire element crystals.

”Before we remove the bodies, letʼs collect the Beast Soul Flowers,” Idan suggested, extracting the Beast Soul Flower seeds from his storage and distributing them among the group members.

Before starting the expedition, Idan and Arabel had to spend a lot of System Points to purchase more than 800 seeds of the Beast Soul Flower. Each group received 200 seeds, and now itʼs time to harvest.

The Kingdomʼs Guild members, who were already familiar with the seeds, immediately got to work, while the Titan Guild, including Nathan, watched their actions in disbelief.

They watched with curiosity as the members of the Kingdom carefully inserted the seeds into the bodies of the slain lizards.

”What are they doing?” he couldnʼt help but ask.

”They plant the main ingredient to create this,” Idan handed Nathan one of the Small Low-quality Soul Crystals with a smile.

”Soul Crystal!” exclaimed Nathan, barely glancing at the object.

His own System instantly provided information about the crystal and the benefits it could provide.

”Can you create something like this?” he asked curiously.

”What do you think?” Idan replied with a slight smile, and it was enough for Nathan to realize that perhaps he was mistaken in thinking that he had seen everything about the Kingdom.

”That seems to be it,” the Awakened One from the Kingdom reported.

”Great, while the flowers are maturing, letʼs start mining crystals,” Idan suggested. And while Nathan and the rest of the Titan Guild members were trying to comprehend this incredible news, Idan and his companions had already begun to extract the crystals.
