Chapter 815: Frozen Time Arena

The rules of the duel were simple:

* The rank limit is Golden only.

* The battle will take place in a 2-on-2 format.

* The winner is the couple who can defeat both of their rivals.

A random arena was chosen — the ”Frozen Time Arena”.

When Idan and Arabel entered the arena, an amazing place appeared before their eyes. It was a huge post-apocalyptic space where chaos reigned, but the whole picture seemed frozen in time. Everything was painted in dove-blue, silver-steel and pale purple tones.

After looking around carefully, Idan and Arabel discovered that the arena consisted of many different fragments. It was not a single whole, but a mixture of different places.

In one place, they saw a part of a collapsing building frozen in its fall.

Elsewhere, a huge wave washed away everything in its path.

In the third place, an explosion occurred, sending many fragments into the air.

In the fourth, a burning building was on fire.

And in the fifth, something resembling a high—speed train that flew out of its rails at high speed and froze at the moment of the crash.

”As Sierra said earlier, we really canʼt use our Spirit Form for nothing,” Idan remarked as he carefully examined his battle avatar. If it werenʼt for that, it would be difficult for him to figure out if this was reality or just a simulation.

”Indeed,” — Arabel agreed, feeling that she too was unable to assume her Ice Spirit Form.

Two figures also appeared on the opposite side of the arena: Nemo and Lina. They looked around the surroundings in surprise, and then they also checked their avatars and their available abilities.

”Are you ready?” — Lina asked Nemo, tightly gripping the hilt of her sword at her waist. Nemo nodded confidently in response.

”Letʼs see what your two younger ones are capable of,” Lina said, rushing forward, and Nemo followed her.

”Belle, be careful, donʼt underestimate Nemo and Linaʼs strength,” Idan warned, looking at Arabelʼs smile and impatience to join the fight.

”I know,” — Arabel replied. With shining eyes, she turned to Idan and said: ”I want to see what the daughter of the Sword Hero is capable of, so Lina is mine.”

Even before the start of the match, both couples agreed to broadcast, and now everyone could watch their battle in the Kingdom.

The couplesʼ closest friends and acquaintances gathered in the Simulation to enjoy the spectacle. They settled into the spectator stands, which offered a beautiful view of the arena and several screens with close-ups of the participants.

”Who do you think will win?” asked Hazel, sitting on the spectator stand.

”Nemo and Lina are clearly superior to Idan and Arabel in terms of swordsmanship,” Eulalia said confidently.

”I agree,” Alois supported her, who came to the match with his student Liam and the Hero Ren.

”As far as I know, Idan and Arabel havenʼt been practicing much with the sword lately, so their skill leaves much to be desired, not to mention their movement techniques. However, they have very good potential,” Alois said with slight disappointment, realizing that the couple was not fully realizing their talent.

”I am convinced that my brother and sister-in-law will win,” Irene said with confidence in her voice.

”I believe that too,” Arslan said.

”Letʼs make a bet!” suggested Esma. ”Whoʼs rooting for whom?”

While they were making bets, where the majority of votes were cast for Idan and Arabel, since not everyone knew who Nemo and Lina were, the two couples finally met on the battlefield, surrounded by the rubble of a collapsing building that froze in its fall.

Lina, noticing that Arabel was aiming at her, walked away. Nemo, who was following her, saw that Idan was looking at him and also moved in the other direction. Idan, following Arabelʼs desire to fight Lina one-on-one, followed Nemo.

Thus, the battle was divided into two separate arenas, where one-on-one battles were fought.

Lina and Arabel remained among the debris of the collapsing building, frozen in the air. Meanwhile, Nemo jumped out of the building and landed just on the roof of the train that was frozen in time at the time of its crash.

Lina, Arabel, Nemo and Idan were familiar with each other, and their duel was of a friendly nature. Due to this, they had no reason to talk, and they focused on the battle.

As soon as Idan landed, Nemo wasted no time in rushing into battle, drawing his sword. After seeing this, Idan transformed his ring into a sword for the first time, which was the exact opposite of Arabelʼs ”Dark Queen Sword”.

The blade of Idanʼs sword was made of translucent metal, resembling the purest rhinestone with golden veins inside. Along the blade, as if in a mirror image of Arabelʼs Sword, seven perfectly smooth dark runes were engraved.

The hilt of the sword was made of polished white wood, wrapped with the finest silver thread, which ensured a perfect grip. The swordʼs guard was shaped like diverging rays made of a shining platinum alloy. A pulsating sunstone was inlaid in the center of the guard, adding brightness and energy.

Idanʼs sword, as Arabel had suspected, actually bore the name given to it by Christina — ”Light King Sword”.

No magic, no aura.

In the very first encounter, Idan and Nemo crossed their swords without using any supernatural powers other than their swordsmanship.

On the other hand, Arabel, like Idan, turned her ring into a dark sword and, clutching the hilt tightly, rushed forward to Lina. Lina stopped and looked at Arabel with a smile, taking a pose ready to attack. She reached for the scabbard of her sword on her belt with her left hand, and the hilt with her right.

Lina knew that both Arabel and Idan had their own Spirit Forms. Although this ability was unavailable at the beginning of the battle, she understood that as it dragged on, Idan and Arabel could use their Spirit Forms. If she and Nemo want to win, they better not prolong the battle.

With a smile on her face and a challenge in her eyes, Arabel almost reached Lina to cross swords with her. But before she could reach it, her instincts detected danger from an unexpected direction. Instinctively, she raised her sword to defend herself.

Clank!

A spark of deflected attack flew, which struck not only Arabel, but also everyone who was watching the fight. Everyone saw that Lina didnʼt even move, but Arabel was somehow attacked from a distance.

Alois, who was sitting on the spectator stand, abruptly stood up from his seat with a stunned expression on his face.

”This... this...” he couldnʼt find the words.

”Which is to be expected from the daughter of a Sword Hero,” Miliсa said, smiling.

”Who would have thought that she has already learned to control the will of the sword and has a sword with a rudimentary mind.”
