CEO's Reborn Wife

James Black returned to the dormitory around twelve o’clock, probably aware that last night went too far, thinking that Jane Sampson might still be in bed, and was too lazy to go out, so he brought meals back from the dining hall.

Entering the door, no one was in the living room, and the kitchen was also quiet, James Black was not at all surprised.

”Jane, it’s time to get up.” James Black entered the door and placed lunch on the table, then went into the bedroom.

Seeing Jane Sampson still lying in the bed, James Black walked over, bent down and kissed her face, ”Get up, wash up, have lunch, after eating go for a walk, lying down all day makes you dizzy.”

”I got up a long time ago.” Jane Sampson sat up and said, ”I ate breakfast and then laid back down.”

”Good girl.” James Black rubbed Jane Sampson’s head and praised her.

Jane Sampson pouted, always feeling like James Black’s ”good girl” sounded as if he was coaxing a child.

She scratched her head, glanced at James Black, and then followed him out of the bedroom.

After sitting down beside the dinner table, Jane Sampson hesitated for a moment before speaking to James Black about Rachel Miller’s affair.

”Just now Oscar Wilson called me, he told me Rachel Miller passed away in a car accident early this morning.” Jane Sampson finished speaking and cautiously observed James Black’s expression.

His reaction was the same as Jane Sampson’s initially upon hearing the news.

Utterly shocked.

James Black paused his movement with the chopsticks.

”It’s a bit sudden.” A few seconds later, James Black finally spoke, ”Sudden and surprising.”

”It is very sudden, I was also greatly startled when I heard.” Jane Sampson nodded.

Thinking about it, from now on, the avatar of Harry Azure in the game might never light up again.

In this moment, Jane Sampson truly saw the fragility of human life.

To stay is to stay.

To leave is to leave.

The last time seeing Rachel Miller was through Sister Grace’s mobile phone.

”Did the Miller Family seal the news away?” James Black said. ”Otherwise, there wouldn’t be a shred of news revealed outside, with Rachel Miller gone, the Miller Family will likely fall into the mouths of those wolves and tigers.”

James Black was not young when he left the Miller Family, so he still had a bit of understanding about some of the Miller relatives.

”Not necessarily, perhaps Rachel Miller had arranged everything early on.” Jane Sampson shook her head, ”I think Rachel Miller must have made arrangements.”

Back then at the gathering, Rachel Miller had already made arrangements; it’s been so long, perhaps, Rachel Miller had already organized the Miller Family’s enterprise thoroughly.

”Eat, don’t talk about him.” James Black helped Jane Sampson with some vegetables, ”I didn’t care about him when he was alive, it won’t help now that he’s dead.”

In conclusion, Rachel Miller’s sudden departure also took James Black by surprise.

Within this shock, there remained a trace of emotion that even James Black found difficult to capture and express.

Not knowing how to speak of it, he chose not to.

Jane Sampson responded with a nod and then focused on eating with James Black.

Because Jane Sampson stayed in bed until noon, after having lunch, James Black still insisted on pulling Jane Sampson outdoors for a walk to digest. Later in the afternoon, James Black went to work, and Jane Sampson drove herself to the hospital to accompany Nina Rice.

When she arrived, Nina Rice was discussing with the hospital’s doctor about being discharged early tomorrow morning, and seeing Jane Sampson coming, Nina Rice couldn’t hide her smile as she waved at Jane Sampson.
