CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 2232: Chapter 2241: Must Be Present

The two sat next to each other, each looking at their own wife, eyes filled with smiles, and hearts soft.

Past 8 o’clock, Jane Sampson and James Black finally left Mair Williams.

On the way back, Jane Sampson received a call from Granny Carter.

”I’m thinking that since James Black is still on vacation, it would be nice if he could accompany you to the Carter Family’s banquet. So, your grandpa and I have discussed it, and we’ve set it for the day after tomorrow. You can check if tomorrow or the day after, during the day, you can have James accompany you back here.” Granny Carter’s tone was very cheerful, ”Take a good rest these two days, take care of yourself well, and the day after tomorrow, grandma will lead the beautiful you to introduce you to everyone.”

”Grandma, I’m beautiful every day.” Jane Sampson responded with a grin, ”If James has no affairs tomorrow, we’ll set off tomorrow. If he’s busy, we’ll leave the day after. Once the flight tickets are booked, I’ll give grandma a call.”

”Alright then, grandma will wait for your call.” Granny Carter hung up the phone happily, turning to Old Sir Carter to continuously praise how sensible Jane Sampson was.

After Jane Sampson put away her mobile phone, James Black spoke, ”I’ll book the flight tickets for the morning after tomorrow, as I need to return to the guard team tomorrow to handle some matters.”

No need to ask, listening to what Jane Sampson said, James Black had already guessed what the matter was.

Jane Sampson agreed with a hum.

Thinking for a moment, Jane Sampson asked, ”Do you think grandma will call Jillian Carter and Joseph Shaw back this time?”

”Yes.” James Black curled his lips, ”Jillian Carter and Joseph Shaw must be present at the banquet the day after tomorrow.”

Jane Sampson sensed a slightly eerie tone in James Black’s words when he said this.

But looking back at James Black’s expression, seeing nothing unusual, Jane Sampson touched her nose, feeling she might have overthought.

As the car reached the building’s downstairs, Jane Sampson was already feeling a bit faint.

James Black parked the car, seeing Jane Sampson yawning and rubbing her eyes, walking in a slightly dazed manner, quickly walked over to her side and held her hand.

”So sleepy~” Jane Sampson leaned on James Black’s shoulder, her whole body half resting on him, leaning on him as he led her to the elevator entrance.

After playing all day, Jane Sampson was truly exhausted.

Back home, she first took a bath, and when James Black returned from washing up, she was already curled under the quilt, fast asleep.

James Black lifted the quilt and lay beside her, watching her sleep with her face flushed, smiling, and kissed her on the cheek.

Blame him for teasing her too much these past two days.

Sometimes she was fragile, but other times, very strong.

Having gone through a kidnapping, having wounds carved on her arm and blood taken with a knife, during this time, the entire Black Family was indeed worried about Jane Sampson’s psychological state.

Fortunately, she was still the Jane Sampson who laughed and joked with him, pouted when angry, and laughed heartily when happy.

In his arms, she continued to sleep sweetly, very sweetly.

James Black should have returned to the guard team after finishing the mission, but he couldn’t leave her, so he squeezed out time to accompany her well for half a month, thinking of not leaving her side, so that if anything went wrong, he could notice it immediately.

Early the next day, James Black first sent Jane Sampson to the Black Family, then returned to the guard team. At noon, Brooke Black returned to the Black Family, knowing that Jane Sampson and James Black were leaving early the next morning, and took Jane Sampson to the shopping mall that afternoon, gathering all the new styles from major brands.
