CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1293: Chapter 1301: Know a Little

Coco Edwards’ hospital transfer was arranged by Rock Bell, and she was also put in a high-end single ward.

When Jane Sampson walked in the door, Coco Edwards, lying in the Bed, was genuinely happy.

”I could smell Jane’s cooking even through the thermal insulation bucket,” Coco Edwards said, holding the bucket with a blissful smile. ”I need to take a photo to cherish this moment and post it on twitter to stir up some jealousy.”

As Jane Sampson and Coco Edwards chatted in the ward, James Black signaled to Harry Little Money, and the two of them left the ward, one after another.

”Mr. Black, you wanted to see me?” The reason why Jane Sampson had left Harry Little Money in the hospital to take care of Coco Edwards was that Harry was known for his meticulous care.

”Do you know why Coco Edwards’ parents haven’t come? What’s the reason?” James Black asked directly.

”I know a little,” Harry couldn’t help but sigh at this matter. ”Actually, when the accident happened, the film crew contacted Sister Coco’s family. I don’t know what was said on the phone, but later, when Sister Coco woke up and received a call from her mother, her mother said they were coming to the hospital to see her but didn’t have money for flight tickets, asking Sister Coco to send them money for tickets so they could come and take care of her.”

”And then what happened?” James Black had previously investigated Coco Edwards’ family situation, and her parents shouldn’t be so poor that they couldn’t afford a few flight tickets.

”Later, Sister Coco didn’t transfer the money to her mother; instead, she directly purchased their plane tickets online. But over three hours before the airplane was set to depart, Coco’s mother called again, saying that her brother’s son suddenly became ill and they needed to take care of the child, so they couldn’t come after all. Sister Coco didn’t seem surprised at all.”

At this, Harry suddenly patted his head and said, ”Oh, right. Before Sister Coco transferred hospitals, she made a call to her family to inform them about the transfer. Her family didn’t say they would visit her at the hospital, but they seemed to be asking about her work injury compensation and mentioned something about a lawyer. Sister Coco got angry on the call and hung up.”

After some thought, Harry cautiously added another sentence. ”Mr. Black, it seems that Sister Coco’s parents have a bit of gender bias favoring men over women, and it seems that Sister Coco doesn’t have a great relationship with her parents. But what her family did was truly disheartening. Sister Coco is a local in Capital Province, even if they took the subway, it would only take an hour to get to the hospital, right? They never even came to see her once.”

James Black nodded. Initially, the information said that Coco Edwards’ parents favored sons over daughters, but he didn’t give it much thought at the time, since whether Coco’s parents had a gender bias didn’t have much to do with Coco being Jane Sampson’s assistant.

Back then, he glanced at a line in the information without realizing that the reality of the situation was like this.

Jane Sampson spent the entire morning in the hospital with Coco Edwards. Fortunately, although Coco Edwards still couldn’t be discharged, she was in a good mood, talking and laughing as voraciously as before.

But after all, she had been injured and had suffered a lot this time; she had lost quite a bit of weight. When Jane saw her this time, she could clearly feel that much of the flesh on Coco’s face had thinned significantly.

After Lunch and returning home, Jane and James Black were lying in the Bed during the lunch break when James started talking about what he heard from Harry Little Money.

After listening, Jane Sampson was stunned for a long time.
