CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1191: Chapter 1199: Who is this person?

Jane Sampson woke up to find that it was already dark outside. She opened her eyes and saw Bright Sampton still in her room, quietly playing games on his mobile phone with headphones on, not making a single sound that would wake her.

When Jane Sampson woke up this time, she felt much more relaxed all over her body. Indeed, having been familiar with illness from a young age, she was used to taking the same medicine.

Although Bright Sampton was engrossed in his game with headphones, he was always paying attention to any movement from Jane Sampson.

As soon as she stirred, Bright Sampton quickly stood up, took off his headphones, threw the mobile phone on the sofa, and walked over to Jane, asking anxiously, ”How do you feel after the sleep? Do you still feel unwell anywhere? You were just asleep, and I took your body temperature again; it’s not bad, your fever has gone down.”

”Right, in the meantime, your director came to visit once, and after knowing you had a fever break, he was much more at ease. He also told me to tell you not to rush back to the film crew. You should rest in the hotel for two or three days more and he will reshuffle the script to film others’ parts first. He said it’ll be twice as beneficial for work if you start after a good recovery.”

”It makes sense.” Jane Sampson had been feeling off these past few days and was filled with guilt over her acting every day.

”The director also told me that he has never seen an actor as dedicated as you are. Despite having such a severe cold for so long, you keep working tirelessly every day. He said watching you walk is like watching you float, always worried that one day you would collapse and then my brother-in-law would ask him to compensate, but he couldn’t dig out a second Jane Sampson in this world to repay my brother-in-law.” Bright Sampton let out a laugh, ”Has the brother-in-law broken many rules for you?”

At the very least, Jane’s departure from her previous company to establish her current studio wouldn’t have been possible without James Black’s help. But Bright Sampton had not expected that the biggest investor of Jane Sampson’s current film crew turned out to be James Black.

”He...” Jane Sampson’s eyebrows danced with pride, ”now, he can’t wait to lift me to the position of Movie Queen by tomorrow.”

Bright Sampton laughed out loud, ”Never saw that the brother-in-law had such high hopes for you. But honestly, sister, I do think you’re truly outstanding. A few of my colleagues really like you; they can’t stop talking about Goddess Sampton, Goddess Sampton in front of me. Do you know how hard it is for me to keep the truth bottled up?”

As they were talking, Jane Sampson’s mobile phone on the head of the bed suddenly rang.

Jane Sampson picked up her mobile phone and saw it was a call from a strange local number in King Town. She was about to answer it when the call suddenly stopped.

Jane Sampson looked puzzled and muttered, ”Strange, who would call and then hang up after just one ring?”

”Could it be a wrong number?” Bright Sampton suggested, ”After all, these days, it should be rare to encounter someone so stingy they can’t even bear to pay phone charges, right?”

While Bright Sampton was speaking, he peered over at Jane Sampson’s mobile phone and made a curious noise, ”Oh right, sister, your phone lit up while you were asleep; you have a new text message. I forgot to remind you.”

At this moment, remembering the notification on the screen, Bright Sampton just recalled it.

Jane Sampson murmured an acknowledgment, unabashedly opening the new text message right in front of Bright Sampton.

But they had not expected that this one text message would leave both siblings utterly stunned.

Jane Sampson’s hand holding the mobile phone trembled slightly.

”Sister, who is this person? What does this text mean?” Bright Sampton said in shock, reading the text message aloud, ”Miss. Sampton, do you want to know who your biological parents are?”
