CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1155: Chapter 1163: So Bitter

”You can see in your cup that the tea leaves are green tea,” James said, ”After picking the green tea, it is fried together with jasmine flowers. After frying, the jasmine flowers are picked out, so now when you drink the tea, you can smell the fragrance of the jasmine and taste the aroma of jasmine tea, but you can’t see the jasmine flowers.”

”Is that how it’s done?” Jane was hearing this for the first time. She thought for a moment and then shook her hand at James, ”Can I apply to change my chrysanthemum tea to this one?”

”Mm,” James agreed, ”then I will have it sent from ’Min City’ to the guard team.”

”Send it to the guard team for what?” Jane blurted out.

”If you want to drink it, come to the guard team,” James said with a smile. ”I’ll make it for you.”

”Is there any special way to brew this jasmine tea?” Jane scratched her head, ”Just send it directly to me. When it arrives, I’ll just look it up online.”

Jane thought she would probably just brew this jasmine tea the same way as chrysanthemum tea.

Don’t ask why.

Because she thought it would be easier to make it that way.

James glanced at Jane, who asked with a sincere expression, and chose to pretend he hadn’t heard, not answering her question.

In fact, there’s no particular fuss about brewing jasmine tea.

Brew it whatever way you like.

Seeing that James didn’t speak, Jane took it as him getting hung up on his posh tea snobbery again—she assumed he couldn’t bear to see his good tea leaves wasted, so he simply ignored her.

So Jane tactfully stopped asking.

But she secretly thought that if she used jasmine tea to cook tea eggs, the flavor would likely be wonderful.

”Can I try some of the tea you have there?” Jane poked the rim of James’ cup with her finger. She didn’t know what kind of tea leaves were in his cup—they were exceptionally fine, needle-like, and seemed interesting.

”You won’t like it,” James said, but he still pushed his cup towards her.

”Don’t be so sure about that,” Jane hummed haughtily, cupping the tea and taking a sip with her head lowered.

Just one sip.

A tiny little sip.

Her expression instantly changed.

A bitter grimace wrinkles her face, rolled into a ball.

Then she forced it down.

”Ah! So bitter~” Jane quickly pushed the cup back to James, scratching her head in embarrassment, then quickly rubbed her twisted-bitter face.

Then she silently cursed James in her mind.

Freak.

Drinking such bitter tea.

James was amused by her reaction, ”I told you that you wouldn’t like it, but you didn’t believe me. I always understand you a bit more than you think.”

A person who loves candy would mostly not be able to stand the bitterness of this tea.

Bitter bamboo tea, a specialty of King Town.

But few people like it.

Like bitter bamboo wine, although famous far and wide, most people hold it in contempt.

James didn’t stop Jane from trying the tea, partly because he wanted to tease her, expecting to see the bitter expression he predicted, and his laughter was soft.

”Yeah, yeah, it’s my fault; President Black is always right,” Jane huffed, and took a long drink of her soup to suppress the bitter taste in her mouth.

Humph! Old freak!

”Jane Sampson, don’t think I don’t know you’re cursing me in your heart,” James suddenly said.

Jane: ”...”

Overlord! Can’t I even secretly curse in my mind?

Seeing the vegetables dropped into the soup pot begin to boil again, Jane urged James to eat quickly—she had been craving the delicious smell for a while now.

If she had known James was going to take her here for such delicious hotpot, she wouldn’t have made a fuss back at the hotel. She could have been better behaved, and he wouldn’t have had to deal with her.

Then she would have eaten this meal sooner!
