CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1189: Chapter 1197: I Will Also Help You

Bright Sampton truly cared about Jane Sampson, ah. The image he saw most of Jane was her calm, standard smile when facing everyone. But even so, that was the healthy Jane Sampson.

Time had passed so long that Bright Sampton had almost forgotten what Jane looked like when she was ill.

”It’s just a minor cold, not a big issue. Maybe it’s just that I have a weaker constitution, so I’m recovering slowly. You just got back from abroad and then came straight over to King Town again. Aren’t you tired?” Jane smiled, ”I’m really fine, I just need one good sleep.”

”You just keep pushing it. I’ll call your brother-in-law right now and get him to take care of you. It’s best if he takes you back to Capital Province.” Bright Sampton said as he was about to grab his mobile phone to call James Black.

But as he took out the mobile phone and saw Jane still sitting there, relaxed and composed, he exclaimed, ”Sister, have you gotten braver recently? You don’t even react to me mentioning calling your brother-in-law?”

Bright Sampton laughed, ”Could it be that even your brother-in-law can’t control you now?”

”Oh, that’s not it.” Jane laughed softly, her smile widening, ”He’s out on a mission and can’t be reached by phone.”

”...” Bright Sampton immediately put away his phone, ”No wonder you’re torturing your body so fearlessly, confident that he can’t receive any messages or come to take you away.”

”Don’t use the phrase ’fearlessly,’ it’s not fitting at all. I just didn’t want to hold up the whole film crew because of myself. I didn’t expect... just caught a cold, got caught in a rain, and my body becomes so unreliable.” Jane was annoyed with herself to death.

Being sick was truly unbearable.

When she was sick, she especially missed James Black, really wanted to nestle in his arms, let him hold her, and soothe her.

In the middle of the night, when Jane was feeling too miserable to sleep well, she’d always try making a call to James Black. She always thought, just in case it connected, she could hear James Black’s voice.

But she swore she would absolutely not let James realize she was sick.

However, not once did the phone get through.

Adding it up, James had been out on his mission for nearly twenty days now. Jane hadn’t thought that James could be on a mission for such a long time.

”Right, how’s Grandpa Peterson lately? I haven’t seen the old man for many years,” Jane started another topic to distract Bright Sampton from worrying about her.

”Grandpa Peterson is still the same, certainly stronger than you. Grandpa saw me and asked about you, knew I was picking up your medicine. He made me promise to watch over you, ensure you eat what you should and avoid what you shouldn’t, and to take care of your health properly. Knowing you’re married, he said to visit him when you can; he’ll prescribe more medicine to ensure you don’t suffer too much with child due to your weak constitution.”

As Bright Sampton said this, he suddenly added, ”Grandpa Peterson today again mentioned that you don’t seem like a full-term baby. Always saying you seem like you were premature, which is why you’ve been weaker than other children since childhood. Sister, tell me, do you think you could really have been premature?”

Jane’s body trembled slightly, and after a long while, she gently shook her head.

It was unclear what that shake of her head meant.

No.

Or simply not knowing.
