CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1148: Chapter 1156: Do You Keep Your Word?

His every kiss, the lightest touch of his fingertips, they were all so gentle as if they were caressing cotton, fearful that the slightest force would cause her pain.

”James Black, I’m really okay,” Jane Sampson slowly opened her eyes and looked down at the person so close to her.

If just now she couldn’t truly feel James Black’s emotions, then, at this moment, Jane really felt them.

This man, who was like a wolf, still worried about her at this time.

Jane wasn’t James Black, so she couldn’t understand the agony he must have suffered while she was all over the hospital taking care of the driver’s procedures, facing what he thought he might see.

And how devastating it must have been for him to hold her and say that if one were to die, she too must die after him.

Her words made him slightly lift his head and look at her. After being quiet for a few seconds, he said, ”Kiss me.”

Without any hesitation, Jane delivered her lips to his, embracing him tightly, kissing him forcefully.

That touch was like a spark hitting dry grass, igniting fervently. James Black was no longer cautious, but embraced her, kissed her, possessed her, forcefully, with all his might.

As if only in this way could he slowly sweep away the panic in his heart.

How wonderful, she was still alright.

How wonderful, she was still alive.

The feeling of love is always so irresistible, and yet it brings both pain and joy.

After it ended, Jane, sweaty all over, was held in James Black’s arms. His fingers lazily twirled in her hair as he closed his eyes, his eyelids masking his gaze, so Jane couldn’t guess what he was thinking through his eyes. The two stayed quiet for a few minutes before Jane moved slightly in his arms. But with that slight motion, James Black quickly opened his eyes and turned to look at her.

Jane gave James Black a sweet smile, nuzzling her little face against his chest.

Just a nuzzle, then swiftly moving away, she raised her hand to touch her own sweaty cheek, pursing her lips in a rare moment of disguise for her disgust.

James Black was amused by Jane’s antics, a smile curling up at the corner of his mouth, his voice light, ”Shall I carry you to the bathroom?”

”In a while, I’ll hug you again,” Jane shook her head, then moved again, laying her upper body completely on top of James Black’s, her eyes watery as she looked up at him, blinking, ”Can we talk?”

”What would you like to talk about?” James Black raised his eyebrows, utterly enamored with Jane’s compliant demeanor, and couldn’t help but lower his head to kiss her forehead.

”Do the words you said in the hospital still count?” Jane suddenly asked.

James Black didn’t immediately catch on and blurted out, ”What words?”

With an ”Ah,” Jane bit her lip, extended a fist out from under the quilt, raised her thumb, and then began, ”In the hospital, you said that if I’m okay, you’ll take me to eat spicy hotpot!”

She paused, then her little fist put up one finger, continuing, ”You also said you’d buy me ice cream.”

She put up another finger, ”You said you’d buy me potato chips.”

Then, raising a fourth finger, ”And you said whatever food I want, you’d take me to eat it.”

Having said that, Jane shook her four fingers, her voice soft and coquettish, ”Does it count?”

After finishing her words, she looked into James Black’s eyes, which sparkled mischievously.
