CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1111: Chapter 119 Stolen

”Upon saying this, the police officer sighed and shook his head, ’This really tarnishes the reputation of the locals here. In fact, most local people are very honest and simple. When your film crew comes here to shoot, it makes us very happy. If your drama becomes popular, our scenic spot becomes popular too. Then, tourists will come, and every household, as long as they’re hardworking, can make some money, which is much better than the current situation where the young people work in the southland all year round and the old people stay at home taking care of children.’

’Half of our crew’s members have noticed that they’ve lost items, ranging from small things like snacks, chocolate, and potato chips to bigger items such as that set of jewelry and little Jane’s lipsticks. If word of this gets out, the drama might gain notoriety, but this hotel will definitely not be able to continue operating,’ James Chip stated bluntly, the hotel’s services had only been average to begin with.

In such an ordinary situation, the occurrence of thefts of personal belongings was enough to make people feel even worse about this hotel.

No one noticed that as soon as chocolate and potato chips were mentioned, Jane Sampson’s eyes lit up slightly as she stood next to them. Then, she quietly turned her head away.

Cravings,

revealed by the gleam in her eyes upon hearing certain words.

Resisting,

embodied in the sudden loss of appetite at the thought of James Black scolding with a stern face.

After listening to the police officer’s long-winded speech for a while, they finally saw him off. Hibiscus Wood didn’t go out with James Chip and the others but sat for a while in Jane Sampson’s room. She even smiled and said, ’I’ve earned a night of rest time.’

Hibiscus Wood was in a good mood because she hadn’t lost much; the items taken from her were some used daily necessities of no great value.

’About that lipstick you got back, will you still use it?’ Hibiscus asked curiously. ’It was taken by someone, and who knows how many people might have used it. Such an item, after being used by unknown strangers, would you still dare to apply it to your lips?’

Jane Sampson’s face soured.

That might be akin to feeling as though a box full of large sums of money had been dropped into a dung pit, with all the cash spilling out.

’Maybe no one used it if you’re lucky,’ Coco Edwards said. ’Didn’t the police officer say that the people left in the area are mostly elderly? The cleaners at our hotel are also of considerable age, and such people probably don’t use lipstick.’

’Who knows? Everyone wants to look young–why else would they steal lipstick?’ Hibiscus Wood took mischievous pleasure in looking at Jane Sampson, then patted her shoulder, ’I’m off now.’

After saying that, she gracefully left. Her visit seemed genuinely about making fun of Jane Sampson, and when Jane escorted her out of the room, she felt like biting into that smiling face.

Indeed, she preferred when Hibiscus Wood was a cold beauty.

After closing the door, Jane Sampson sighed and was about to share with Coco Edwards how bad Hibiscus was, but her mobile phone rang first.

Coco glanced at it and handed Jane her phone, saying, ’It’s a call from your Mr. Carter.’

Upon hearing this, Jane immediately rushed over and quickly picked up.

’Mr. Carter!’ Jane exclaimed excitedly into the phone.

Ever since she had joined the film crew, she had been so busy that she had not contacted James Carter for some time.
