CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1118: Chapter 1126: Should I Wait for You?

She froze for a few seconds with a rigid expression, contemplating before responding to Seven with an uncertain voice message.

”Where do you get off exaggerating like that? I’m just going to a gathering, not doing anything else.”

After that, Quincy Seven didn’t reply to Jane Sampson, and Jane assumed Quincy Seven was either busy or had gone to a meeting.

Seven’s studio had already opened, and she had transformed from a person idle all day into a busy person.

So, Jane had already grown accustomed to the phenomenon of Quincy Seven and Nina Rice disappearing for a while during conversations.

The issue at the police station had been dealt with in just half a day.

Most people’s belongings had been recovered, but a small part had been destroyed or used and couldn’t be recovered; thus, only the amount of the loss could be recorded, which would eventually be drafted by the police station and then transferred to the relevant departments.

In the afternoon, the entire film crew resumed their work vigorously.

In the troop, in the afternoon, James Black, along with Peter Gingery and Liam Woody, went to the city district for a meeting. The meeting lasted until the evening, and after it concluded, the three casually picked a small restaurant to eat, then James sent Peter and Liam back to the troop.

While Peter was packing his stuff, he casually asked, ”Brother, where are you going tonight if you’re not returning to the troop?”

”Going home,” James checked the time on his watch and responded, ”I need to find some stuff at home.”

Peter thought James meant he needed to pick up important stuff, so he asked, ”Do you want us to wait for you?”

”No need,” James waved his hand and got into his car first, starting it and driving home.

Along the way home, James was pondering over Jane’s habit of hiding things.

This thought continued until he parked his car in his private garage and ended only after he pressed the elevator button and stepped inside, then started searching in the elevator.

Where do women like to hide things in the house?

The internet realm gave him three likely places.

The wardrobe, under the bed, and the dressing table.

Thus, the first thing James did upon returning home was head straight to the bedroom, opened the wardrobe, and started searching for the box he had once glimpsed.

The clothes inside the wardrobe were neatly organized, so it was apparent if anything was there. After surveying the wardrobe and confirming the stuff wasn’t there, James bent down to check under the bed.

Under the bed was spotlessly clean, with nothing there; he then proceeded to search Jane’s dressing table.

Unlike other places, the dressing table, which Jane used every day, appeared a bit more cluttered.

The desktop was cluttered with many bottles and jars, the contents of which even James couldn’t name.

Besides the bottles and jars, pulling open a drawer revealed a row of neatly arranged lipsticks, but James noticed that many of the lipsticks had not even been opened.

They were also not familiar, certainly not items he had bought during their shopping trips; looking at their slightly old packaging, they seemed to have been purchased some time ago but never used.

The wardrobe had nothing, under the bed had nothing, the dressing table had nothing.

It was no wonder she was so smug about saying he wouldn’t find it; the most common places women use to hide things, she used none.

James sat on the sofa in the living room for a while, his gaze sweeping across every corner of the entire house.

A few minutes later, he suddenly seemed to recall something, stood up, and walked directly into the guest room.
