CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1112: Chapter 1120: One Step Further

”Have you been busy in Cloud Province recently?” James Carter asked Jane Sampson with a laugh in his voice. He found that whenever he called her, she always seemed full of energy.

A simple ”Mr. Carter” was enough to be infectious, and he couldn’t help but start laughing as well.

”To say I’m not busy would definitely be a lie. I’m filming every day, without a single day off. But the scenery here in Cloud Province is truly beautiful,” Jane’s voice was cheerful and clear as she laughed along.

”I’ve yet to congratulate you on setting up your studio. With Rock Bell guiding you, I believe you’ll soon encounter even better opportunities.” In addition to offering his congratulations, James Carter also had another purpose for making this call to Jane Sampson.

”I have a job I’d like to invite you to join me on,” said James Carter, ”For this year’s Spring Festival gala, I was thinking of inviting you to perform on stage with me. What do you think?”

James Carter had already received the invitation. This being his first year since making a comeback, receiving this invitation was within his expectations. James initially turned down the invite to spend time with his family, but then he thought of Jane Sampson and told the person in charge he would check his schedule and consider it.

For him, bringing Jane Sampson on stage would not be hard.

”Our last film premiere was a regret for both of us, and this time presents a great opportunity to make up for it. However, I’m not too sure about your schedule. Of course, participating in this party will take up a considerable amount of your time. And for the Chinese New Year, you might have to hurry. But it’s not too bad for you—the live broadcast location is in Capital Province, and we can leave afterward.”

James Carter knew that Jane Sampson’s husband’s family was not an ordinary family. So when he discussed this with Jane, he also took into consideration that she was now someone else’s wife and had to be mindful of both families.

Some family rules are very strict, not allowing the younger generation to be away from home during Chinese New Year.

After listening, Jane was utterly shocked.

”Mr. Carter, are you saying you want me to join you at the gala?” Jane trembled with excitement. ”During Chinese New Year, nearly everyone watches the gala. If I participate, then surely a lot of people will see me, right?”

”Yes, make no mistake, this is a step up for you,” said James Carter. ”You can discuss it well with your family. There’s no rush, even if you get back to me this time tomorrow, that’s fine.”

Jane initially thought there was no need for discussion. She was willing.

But on second thought, times had changed.

Considering how James Black is now, who knows if he’s already planning to spend the Chinese New Year bringing her to the guard team to accompany him.

After all, according to past years, James Black never had time off during Chinese New Year.

So, as soon as she thought of James Black, Jane hesitated. After thinking it through, she should at least sound him out.

”Okay, thank you, Mr. Carter. Then I will discuss it with James and give you a reply tomorrow. Thank you so much for looking after me! You really are the best!” Although a bit exaggerated, this compliment truly reflected Jane’s feelings.

Since her debut, she had always met benefactors.

Each one had helped her enormously.

The opportunity James Carter could give her also filled her with immense shock.

That Spring Festival gala stage was a platform many yearned for yet could never reach.
