CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 724: Chapter 732: You are You

”I’m not in the mood for regrets,” Jane Sampson’s voice was muffled, ”Seeing you covered in blood scared me to death, my mind was full of...”

Full of images of him dying on top of her, aside from the red blood, there was also his gradually cooling body, never again to get annoyed at her to the point of gritting his teeth and calling out her name and surname included, never again to say ’Don’t do this, don’t do that.’

”The doctor said I’m fine, what’s there for you not to be at ease about?” James Black chuckled, ”You cried like a three-year-old child who couldn’t find candy.”

Looking at Jane Sampson, who sat upright and just gave him a look of disapproval, James Black’s mood inexplicably brightened.

”James Black, don’t talk!” Jane Sampson stood up and covered James Black with the quilt, ”Patients need to rest early, so close your eyes, go to sleep and don’t talk!”

The person who was teased had slightly red ears and lightly patted James Black’s chest, ”Go to sleep.”

James Black’s laughter became even more evident. Then, after watching Jane Sampson tuck him in and sit back on a chair, she placed her hands directly beside the sickbed and buried her head in her arms.

He couldn’t see her face, and naturally, he couldn’t see her expression either, but he could see her red ears.

Lying there, James Black watched Jane Sampson, who maintained that position for several minutes without moving or showing any intention to speak.

It really was getting late, and James Black had just come out of the surgery room, so he began to feel tired.

But Jane Sampson was still here, so he held on.

However, by this time, Jane Sampson should go home.

”Jane Sampson,” James Black spoke up, calling out to the woman who hadn’t moved from his bedside, ”It’s time for you to go back.”

Jane Sampson remained motionless as if she hadn’t heard and wasn’t asleep.

”Jane Sampson,” James Black called out her name again.

Seeing Jane Sampson still didn’t move or respond, James Black’s voice deepened slightly, ”Don’t pretend to be asleep!”

At this time, the woman who had been still and silent finally lifted her head to look at him, biting her lips, her voice soft, ”If I don’t pretend to sleep, you’re going to send me back.”

After speaking, Jane Sampson’s voice was already somewhat choked up, ”I don’t want to go back; I want to stay here with you.”

”The ward isn’t comfortable to sleep in. You should go back and sleep,” James Black felt helpless in his heart, and fearing to speak too harshly, which might cause Jane Sampson to cry for him to see, he tried to make his own voice sound gentler, ”Be good, and listen.”

”If you’re not at home, I don’t want to go back,” Jane Sampson averted her gaze, afraid to look at James Black, ”The house is so big, and I’m alone, I’m scared.”

James Black was taken aback.

Indeed, being in a place unfamiliar to her, the villa district was very desolate, it was understandable that Jane Sampson was afraid to stay alone in the house.

”Call Coco Edwards and have her stay with you at the villa, or you can stay at a hotel overnight,” James Black suggested.

”She is her, and you are you,” Jane Sampson muttered, ”I’m not going back; if you send me away, I still won’t go.”

After saying that, she lay back down in the same posture as when she was pretending to sleep, not moving in the slightest.

James Black really wanted to reach out and touch Jane Sampson’s small head, but his hand was bandaged tightly and couldn’t reach.

”Jane Sampson,” James Black’s tone was already very resigned.

”She’s asleep, don’t call her,” came the muffled response from the one lying there.

Suddenly, James Black fell silent, his gaze quietly resting on the person beside the bed; he could feel that she truly did not want to leave.
