CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 714: Chapter 722: I Mustn’t Praise You

The two busy days seemed to fly by, and in the blink of an eye, the day of the premiere had arrived.

Because Jane Sampson had to appear onstage, she left home for the hotel makeup past 2 o’clock in the afternoon. Since the hotel was crowded, James Black didn’t go to the hotel, but instead waited in the waiting room for Jane to arrive before they entered the venue together.

Jane Sampson’s stylist was still Quincy Forest, two good friends who are also chatterboxes. Once they got together, there wasn’t a quiet moment inside the room for two seconds.

”Have you been following that article about little Jane recently?” Quincy Forest had been keeping an eye on that post for the past two days, ”I must say, your twitter response was simply brilliant! That’s how one should live, boldly firing back at them.”

Speaking of this incident, Quincy Forest was definitely more temperamental than Jane Sampson. After all, it was Quincy who had done Jane’s makeup that day, and after completing the makeup, she had praised Jane for a long time, indulging in her handiwork with vanity for quite a while.

Nevertheless, by the evening, the article was released, and it truly made her feel so angry that her liver and spleen ached.

”I’d look at twitter for a bit after meals every night, so I guess I did follow up on it,” Jane Sampson nodded, ”I’m a bit surprised that T brand’s official twitter responded to the incident, and even praised me, saying I looked particularly beautiful.”

”Of course, they should praise you. After all, my little Jane is indeed beautiful. Besides, you’re a high-level client of T brand. Just for the sake of maintaining their client relationship, they should compliment you,” Quincy Forest said cheerfully. ”Charlotte Miller was bashed terribly. On her own, she doesn’t look that bad, but the article insisted on comparing her to you. What choice did it leave her? Suddenly, even her photoshopped self was overshadowed by you. It’s really unfortunate for her, inadvertently caught in the crossfire just for standing next to you that day, and then she was thoroughly maligned.”

Jane Sampson shrugged her shoulders. James Black had said that the planning team behind this incident might belong to Charlotte Miller’s team. So when she heard Quincy Forest’s comment, there wasn’t much sympathy for Charlotte Miller in Jane’s heart.

It could be said that she had a mysterious confidence in James Black, believing almost everything he said without question.

Indeed, quite a few people on the internet had cursed Charlotte Miller for this, accusing her of glorifying herself. Yet, Jane Sampson couldn’t deny that the whole thing had boosted Charlotte Miller’s popularity significantly. Many who initially didn’t follow the hosting circle now knew of the female host Charlotte Miller.

Though the majority of new followers Charlotte Miller gained recently were haters, and many recognized her just to blame her, it was an undeniable fact that she had managed to increase her popularity due to Jane Sampson’s fan base.

James Black had mentioned that day he had people keeping an eye on Charlotte Miller’s team, but there hadn’t been any new developments in the past two days.

Jane Sampson didn’t concern herself with it, nor did she press for details. Even if it was eventually proven Charlotte Miller was behind it, what then?

Jane Sampson wouldn’t directly clash with Charlotte Miller over this issue; she would just keep a greater distance from her in the future.

”Let’s not talk about this upsetting matter anymore,” seeing Jane’s disinterested demeanor, Quincy Forest changed the subject and focused most of her attention on the work at hand.

Quincy Forest usually didn’t like to apply heavy makeup on Jane Sampson, but because Jane was performing onstage tonight, Quincy decided to go for a slightly heavier makeup look than she had done in the past two days.
