CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 720: Chapter 728: Her Dream

Her voice was hoarse from crying.

Moreover, her eyes were red and swollen, which even makeup might not be able to conceal.

More importantly, if she could not constantly be on the lookout for any sign from the surgery room at the doorway, her heart would undoubtedly be hanging here even if she went to the premiere venue.

With her state being off, how could she possibly sing?

James Black said that performing with James Carter was her dream and she should go fulfill her dream.

But at that moment, Jane Sampson suddenly realized that compared to him, her dream seemed to suddenly become not important at all.

She wanted to stay here, waiting for James Black to come out, to see him the moment he did.

”That’s true, even if I took you to the venue now, with your condition, you really couldn’t go on stage for the performance,” James Carter nodded.

This wasn’t what Jane Sampson wanted either. It was unexpected, and nobody wished for it.

James Black is Jane Sampson’s husband. With James Black in the surgery room undergoing surgery, Jane Sampson could not settle down and perform on stage—this James Carter could understand.

”All right, Coco Edwards, you stay here and keep Jane company. I’ll go down and get her stuff, then you take her to remove her makeup and change back into casual clothes. I’ll bring you their hats and masks, too. There are a lot of people at the hospital; we don’t want her to be recognized,” James Carter said.

”Thank you, Mr. Carter,” Coco Edwards repeatedly thanked him, then supported Jane Sampson, who went to sit on a chair next to them.

After James Carter left, Coco Edwards made a call to Rock Bell to explain the situation. Hearing that James Black had an accident and was undergoing surgery, Rock Bell was also taken aback.

”If Jane wants to stay at the hospital, let her stay there. I’ll personally explain and apologize to John Young. You stay with her for now, I’ll immediately book a flight ticket and rush over,” Rock Bell said without much delay and without any blame towards Jane Sampson.

Once James Carter had brought her clothes up, Jane Sampson went to the hospital’s restroom to remove her makeup, put on her clothes, and then sat outside the surgery room with a new hat and mask. James Carter had already left, and Coco Edwards continued to sit and wait with Jane Sampson outside the surgery room.

If it had not been for such a time, waiting outside the surgery room for someone so very important, Jane Sampson would never have discovered that what used to seem like a mere two hours was actually so hard to endure.

The wall clock’s hour hand made one round after another, and the minute hand slowly ticked by minute by minute, then with difficulty like an elderly person, it jumped to the next hour.

Jane Sampson’s gaze never left the tightly closed door of the surgery room; she stared intently, not even wanting to blink more than necessary.

The longer the time passed, the more anxious and unsettled Jane Sampson became, until finally, she could hardly sit still.

She stood up and positioned herself directly outside the surgery room.

As she waited, she began to squat down, then hugged her knees, her gaze still fixed on the door of the surgery room.

Coco Edwards looked at the squatting figure in front of her, and her heart felt a wave of sourness.

She could see that Jane Sampson felt very insecure, inching closer to the surgery room as if wanting to be closer to the person inside in this way.

No one knows how much time had passed before the door of the surgery room finally creaked open with a sound.

The one who was hugging her knees squatting there suddenly stood up as if on cue, and because she stood up so quickly, she nearly lost her balance and fell, but fortunately, Coco Edwards was quick to catch her.
