CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 43: Chapter 51: The Small One

James Black looked down and, well, she had indeed bought quite a lot of stuff. If it wasn’t for seeing an Alps lollipop and a bag of potato chips mixed in with the vegetables, he might have really thought she had just gone out to buy groceries.

In fact, those vegetables were nothing more than a disguise for her true intentions, and after dumping the items down, she was still bending over with her waist and grinning at him, clearly afraid he would see.

”There’s a crowd; you wait outside, and I will line up to pay,” Jane Sampson said, looking at James Black with the gentle gaze of a considerate wife, ”I know you men have no patience for queues...”

”Unfortunately for you, I happen to have that kind of patience,” James Black cut her off, a slight smile playing on his lips, clearly because he was worried about spotting those two snack items when paying.

But he just didn’t want things to go her way, and seeing her looking so tensely nervous was particularly amusing.

Jane Sampson remained in her original posture, tilting her head down, while James Black, looking down from his height, immediately noticed her small expression.

The person in front seemed to be slow for some reason; they were making a mistake, and Jane was almost dying of impatience inside, just afraid that James might come over and flip through, which would make it impossible to cover up.

In short, Jane Sampson was secretly thinking that, when it came time to checkout, she could take advantage of the crowd to shove James Black out forcefully, leaving her alone to pay.

Jane’s mood was as urgent as if her eyebrows were on fire, while the person in front was unhurried. Suddenly, James leaned over her to pick up something from the cabinet beside her and tossed it into the shopping cart.

Jane instinctively looked up at James, then lowered her head to take a closer look at what he had thrown into the cart.

When she recognized what the square box was, her face felt as if it was about to catch fire, and her first reaction was to quickly snatch those two boxes and throw them back onto the shelf.

Jane’s movements were incredibly fast; when James looked down, he saw her hand had already put things back and she had even managed to glare at him, thinking he was oblivious.

”Do you want a child?” James asked, furrowing his brows.

Jane looked baffled, ”Huh?” Why was his topic jumping so unexpectedly?

”If you don’t want children, then take the stuff back,” James’s voice dipped slightly.

”But my menstruation hasn’t ended today...” Jane whispered to remind James, ”I told you last night!”

”I didn’t say we’d use it tonight,” James chuckled, adding, ”next week.”

Jane stood still, bewildered. James lifted his hand to gently tap the back of her hand, ”If you want a child, don’t bother; if you don’t, then take the stuff back.”

This threat successfully intimidated Jane. She quickly scanned the surroundings, saw no one paying attention, and like a thief, she swiftly snatched two boxes and tossed them back into the cart.

”Jane Sampson,” James Black looked at her intently, his tone very displeased, ”they’re too small.”

”What’s too small?” Jane looked up, not understanding what James meant by ’too small’.

”The size,” James replied.

Seeing Jane still appeared clueless, James inhaled deeply, ”The size of the ’condom’ is too small; take back the two boxes you just put away.”

At this moment, he wasn’t sparing any words, speaking a long sentence clearly enough for Jane to understand.

But at the same time, a young couple behind Jane also understood, and they were silently chuckling with their shoulders shaking, making Jane wish she could bury her face in the ground!
