CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 16: Chapter 24: It’s None of My Business

Originally, he had gone to the kitchen to fetch tea leaves, but when he came out, his arms were full of a pile of instant noodles and snacks, which he had discovered hidden in various nooks of the kitchen.

If they were scattered around like that, there was only one goal in mind: to hide them.

So, these items, including those inside the drawer of the tea table, must all belong to Jane Sampson.

Therefore, the fact that he had never seen Jane Sampson eat these things at home didn’t mean she didn’t eat them; it meant she hid and secretly indulged in them behind his back.

In the bathroom, Jane Sampson, who had just finished her bath and was applying products in front of the mirror, suddenly noticed a pimple emerging on her forehead and felt sorry for her little face for a while, completely oblivious to the brewing storm in the living room.

After tidying up, Jane Sampson left the bedroom, but she hadn’t expected that as soon as she reached the living room, James Black called out to her.

”Come here.”

Upon hearing his voice and tone, Jane Sampson’s footsteps halted, and her internal alarm bells rang. If possible, she would have liked to run away.

”Jane Sampson, come here,” James Black repeated.

He sat on the sofa in the living room with his back to Jane Sampson; without turning around, he knew that Jane had come out of the bedroom and that upon hearing his words, she had frozen in place.

Bracing herself, Jane Sampson took step by step behind James Black, glanced up at his expression, and her heart skipped a beat. Her gaze followed James Black’s to the tea table.

Or rather, to the pile of snacks and instant noodles that James Black had somehow unearthed from every corner and laid out on the tea table.

Jane Sampson swallowed nervously; she knew that whenever James Black called her with such a stern tone, it surely meant trouble.

”Yours?” James Black pointed to the items on the table.

Jane Sampson shook her head vigorously, ”Nina Rice’s! Nina’s! They have nothing to do with me!”

”Heh.” If it weren’t for the fact that James Black still had the sense to discern the truth, he might have actually been fooled by Jane Sampson’s lie.

”Jane Sampson, have you forgotten the pain once the wound has healed?” James Black took a trash bag out of the drawer of the tea table and said, ”When you were fourteen, you sneaked instant noodles, and the next day, you got a stomachache, ran a fever, and ended up in the hospital.”

Rustle—Jane Sampson saw James Black’s hand sweep across, and all the bucket noodles and instant noodles were dumped into the trash bag, making her heart quiver.

My treasures...

Many of these she had gone to great lengths and expense to buy through a purchasing agent!

Spicy instant noodles from Country R, kimchi instant noodles from Country H...

”During your fifteenth summer vacation, you ate these and had nosebleeds; do you not remember that?” Another rustle, and the potato chips, biscuits, including spicy strips, all went into the trash bag.

After doing all this, James Black finally stood up, turned around, and looked at Jane Sampson. Seeing her lifeless expression, he said sternly, ”Jane Sampson, do not repeat this. If it happens again, I will discipline you my own way.”

Jane Sampson fell silent, standing still, her toes tapping against the leg of the sofa intermittently.

James Black didn’t pay any more attention to Jane Sampson. While unbuttoning his shirt, he strode past her into the bedroom.

Jane Sampson stood in the living room for a long time, resisting the urge to take the snacks out of the bag and hide them again.

”What kind of person keeps bringing up someone’s embarrassing moments from their childhood, and doesn’t remember the good ones?” Jane Sampson bent down to touch the bag wistfully, then slowly headed back to her room, looking back every three steps.

It was still a hot summer night. Jane Sampson went back to her room, turned down the air conditioner a few degrees, and got into bed. When James Black finished his bath and came back to the bedroom in his clothes, Jane was already lying in bed asleep.
