CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 21: Chapter 29: Who Is Your Husband?

Rock Bell finally managed to calm her breath. ”He cheated? Or was it domestic violence?”

If it wasn’t for a breakdown in emotions, Rock Bell couldn’t find any reason why Jane Sampson would discuss divorce so definitively. Having an affair and domestic violence seemed to be the most straightforward reasons that could push someone towards divorce.

”No, no, no.” Jane Sampson quickly shook her head to deny that, joking to herself. That guy James Black probably needs to be reborn to be able to change that old-fashioned temperament of his. Such things would never happen to him, okay?

”Then is he ugly? Or is it his poor technique? Impotence?”

This time, it was Rock Bell’s turn to say something shocking. Although she was also married, Jane Sampson had never discussed such topics with anyone before.

As for James Black, Jane Sampson, speaking with her hand on her heart, had to admit that he wasn’t just not ugly, he was actually very handsome. James Black’s handsomeness was bright and brave, like a walking hormone. Honestly, his head-turning rate on the street was indeed high.

James Black’s looks were nothing like the effeminate pretty boys that little girls chase after these days. Jane Sampson had found him attractive from the first moment she saw him, and he had grown from a handsome boy to an equally handsome adult without losing his appeal.

About impotence?

Jane Sampson felt like slamming her fist on the table. That guy had plenty of strength and endurance in combat, but it was true that his technique was lacking.

”Not speaking, so it is true?” Rock Bell looked at Jane Sampson with a face of sympathy, then suddenly asked, ”By the way, who’s your husband?”

It was only then that Rock Bell thought to ask who Jane Sampson’s husband was. The Sampton Family wasn’t considered top-notch among Capital Province’s wealthy families, but they had managed to squeeze into that circle. Considering the way these families matched each other in social and economic status, Jane Sampson’s husband should also be someone from inside the circle of Capital Province.

Rock Bell felt that, having grown up in Capital Province, the likelihood that she knew him was quite high.

”Sister Tin should know him, James Black,” Jane Sampson said, worried that Rock Bell would take her previous silence as an admission, so she quickly added an explanation. ”Everything about him is good, he doesn’t have any of the flaws you mentioned.”

”James Black? I don’t understand.” Rock Bell searched her memory for a matching face and couldn’t find one, but soon after she said those words, her expression changed slightly as she looked at Jane Sampson.

”Wait!” Rock Bell suddenly raised her hand, saying, ”The James Black you’re talking about isn’t the James Black of the Black Family of Capital Province, is it? Old Master Black’s grandson?”

”Ah, yes.” Jane Sampson nodded, ”I knew Sister Tin would know, we’ve met when we were kids!”

Of course, Rock Bell knew James Black, or rather, who in the whole Capital Province didn’t know Old Master Black’s grandson James Black?

James Black graduated from Kingston Guard School and then went directly into the national guard team. He was a young and promising man with the formidable Black Family backing him; how could anyone not know him?

The reason Rock Bell had not connected him with the James Black in her mind initially was that she hadn’t thought of Jane Sampson in the same context as the Black Family’s James Black. After all, Jane Sampson was quite a bit younger than James Black.

”Our marriage contract was made when we were very young.” Jane Sampson’s eyes blinked as she looked at Rock Bell. ”I married him as soon as I graduated from university.”

Rock Bell nodded slowly in understanding, half a beat late, ”If it’s that James Black, then I understand you.”

Those who knew of James Black were well aware of his personality and temper. He wasn’t very easy-going, seldom spoke unnecessarily, and was reserved and old-fashioned — these were the public’s impressions of him.
