Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 1441: Chapter 844: Your Life Shouldn’t Be Like This

A few minutes later, Qi Xing returned with a bitter expression, ”Mr. Qi, what’s going on?” Qian Jiale held back his worries and quickly went forward to meet him.

”The commander didn’t approve the leave, saying there’s a mission.” Qi Xing said dejectedly, ”If only the boss could resume duties, sigh...”

”Then... what do you plan to do?” Qian Jiale said, scratching his short hair in frustration, ”Something happened at my sister’s place too. Maybe the sister-in-law could take a bus over, and my sister could send someone to pick her up, but now... sigh!”

Qi Xing furrowed his brow into a frown, ”What happened? Can I help?”

Qian Jiale sighed lightly and patted him, ”Mr. Qi, at this time, you still have the heart to care about others. Think about how to resolve the sister-in-law’s issue first.

Although you didn’t detail it, I can imagine if it wasn’t impossible to stay at home, Uncle Qi and Aunt Qi wouldn’t have made this call.”

Qi Xing thought for a moment, ”Qinzi and Yan’er could probably manage a few days in the village, after all, that’s the original plan.

I’m worried that if they come while we’re on a mission, they’ll be lost, unable to find me, and won’t know where to go.

I can’t reach the boss, and the connections with others aren’t strong enough. Why does everything have to coincide like this?”

”Let’s do this, I’ll call my sister to see if she knows anyone familiar in the nearby village who can arrange things.” Qian Jiale said, ready to call his sister Qian Jialing.

”Hold on...” Qi Xing stopped him, ”What exactly happened to your sister’s family? Don’t make it harder on her.”

”My brother-in-law went to Jinshui City to deliver a batch of goods, supposed to arrive yesterday, but the recipient still hasn’t gotten it.

The recipient couldn’t reach my brother-in-law, so they called the store. When my sister called him, the phone was off. An hour ago, she just got the news that there was a landslide on the road from Sha City to Jinshui City, blocking many vehicles.

My sister plans to head over at night to check it out. At least if she knows my brother-in-law is safe, she’ll be a bit reassured. However, regardless of the outcome, my sister’s store will suffer significant losses this time. If compensation is required under the contract, the hardware store might be left empty.

My sister and brother-in-law have been working hard in Sha City for three years, all possibly come to naught. My sister’s idea, after finding my brother-in-law, is not to stay in Sha City anymore.

My parents are getting older; they plan to go back home for a stable life, sigh...” Qian Jiale sighed heavily, ”They came to Sha City thinking I was here, and it’d put my parents at ease, but didn’t expect... this is how it would end.”

”Why would they take on an order beyond their capacity? Though I don’t know much about doing business, I feel like when taking orders, companies should assess their actual capabilities.”

”There’s always a reason. My sister is upset and didn’t explain much. I did want to go with her, but wasn’t it just now you were planning to go home to pick up the sister-in-law...” Qian Jiale realized he spoke too much and quickly stopped.

Qi Xing patted him firmly, ”Brother, let’s not talk about it.”

”But what about the sister-in-law’s issue now? My sister has employees going with her, but the sister-in-law here is unfamiliar, what can be done?

Sigh, if the boss were around, it’d be better. Right, let’s quickly think if there’s any close comrade whose family is around here.” Qian Jiale slapped his forehead suddenly, ”By the way, didn’t you tell the commander the reason for asking leave?”

Qi Xing smiled wryly, ”I mentioned wanting leave, and the commander just sent me back, then gave me a long lecture, how could I continue asking?”

The two thought hard for a while but couldn’t recall which comrade has family in Sha City, ”I think we should ask the comrades from the third troop for help. More people, more strength.” Qian Jiale said and was about to walk out.

Qi Xing sighed deeply and waved his hand, ”Forget it, even if we find someone, it won’t help, I was just too happy and confused.

Although my parents didn’t say much, I can imagine someone has taken a fancy to Yue Qin with pretty good conditions. Otherwise, my parents wouldn’t be pressured so much.

The call was made behind Yue Qin’s back by my parents. Knowing her stubbornness, if I don’t go back to insist on bringing her out, she definitely won’t leave with Yan’er.

There’s no choice; I can’t go back now, I’ll have to wait until the mission is over, sigh, she’ll have to endure a bit longer.”
