Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 1402: Chapter 829: Luo Feng Is Furious

”Ye’er...” Luo Feng frowned slightly, paused for a moment, then looked at Zhu Hongyu, ”Major Zhu, my sister, she didn’t give you a hard time, did she?”

”No, no...” Zhu Hongyu waved her hand, stood up, ”I think I left my phone in the car, I’ll go find it.”

Luo Ye glanced at her bulging pant pocket and handed her the car keys, ”By the way, let Brother Li practice driving.”

”Well, although my skills can’t compare with yours, I’m more than enough to be an instructor.” Zhu Hongyu waved at Luo Feng, then turned and left the room.

”Alright, brother, scold me however you like.” Luo Ye spread her hands, looking unbothered, as if she was not afraid of being scolded. Zhu Hongyu deliberately made space for her to have a good talk with her brother.

”You...” Luo Feng pointed at his sister, but didn’t know what to say, her actions really hurt his pride.

He was the brother, yet things always came to his sister to clean up. He wanted to protect his sister, but he was always the one being protected by her. Was he perhaps the most failing brother in this world?

Luo Feng’s expression made Luo Ye feel uncomfortable, she slowly moved closer to him and tugged at his arm, ”Brother, I’m sorry, I should have discussed it with you.”

”Ye’er...” Luo Feng looked at his sister conflicted, ”It’s not that I’m being sensitive, but have you thought that the road you walk on will be remembered better if you experience it yourself.

If you always let Ye’er clear the way and remove the obstacles, then the brother would become like a flower in a greenhouse. When real storms come, I’ll only be at the mercy of destruction. At that time, I wouldn’t be able to help Ye’er, but rather distract her.

So, let me walk by myself, even if I stumble, even if I am bruised and battered, at least the next time I set out, I will understand how to avoid them.”

”Brother, I understand now.” Luo Ye shook Luo Feng apologetically, ”It was my oversight, please don’t be mad at me, alright?”

Luo Feng gently stroked his sister’s head, ”Ye’er, whenever any relative or friend has a problem, you rush in to help solve it.

But have you thought about the result of this, which is that the burden on your shoulders becomes heavier and heavier, and the people around you become more dependent on you.

This isn’t a good way to interact; it’s normal to go through ups and downs in the process of growing up. You need to give everyone the chance to grow, instead of shielding everyone under your wings!”

After a moment of silence, Luo Ye’s expression became serious, ”Brother, I admit that my approach was somewhat inappropriate, but you also have to admit that your approach was equally inappropriate.

In the process of growth, people need to experience ups and downs, but some things are necessary, and some things are unnecessary.

Actually, from the beginning I understood the situation when brother was transferred to the town, but I didn’t intervene, because I understood that there are things brother needs to figure out on his own.

After deciding to come back, brother indeed took bigger steps, but brother, have you thought that some people are impossible to awaken in a short period of time.

Do you think after dragging on for a while, they can really remove all obstacles for you to implement your plans?

Brother is doing something concerning people’s livelihood, which is beneficial to the people’s livelihood, and it’s only a matter of time before the higher-ups support you. But instead of waiting for their support, why not take the initiative to fight for it?

Isn’t it just overstepping? Yes, for a politician, overstepping is taboo, but brother has already given them ample time, really couldn’t drag it anymore, so he overstepped. I believe the higher-ups will weigh this fairly.

Qin Mountain Town has been poor for so many years, and the villagers have adapted to this life, maybe they don’t care about being poor for a little while longer.

But what about the children here? Because of poverty, a third of the girls drop out after primary school, and less than 2% go to high school.

The boys might fare slightly better than the girls, but only about 10% make it to high school. The rest, I don’t need to say much, brother can think it over himself.”

She is not the Savior, and can’t just change the situation wherever there’s poverty, but she will pay more attention to the place where her own family works, both publicly and privately.

She will do what she can to help, at least, if one day she leaves this world, she can look back and know she left a mark of change in this world...

After thinking for a while, Luo Feng’s tone softened, ”Brother admits you’re right, brother’s nature is more conservative and lacks boldness, but Ye’er, wouldn’t it be better to approach it as a reminder?”
