Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 1265 - 757: What I Did for Grandpa

If we stay here any longer, how can the two of us survive? We’ve discussed it, we need to get back the money taken by Lao Da and Lao Er,

once the house is sorted, we will leave this place.

”Mom and Dad have discussed with us, they’re moving away with Uncle’s family, and we won’t come back here anymore.” Li Ligang chimed in.

Li Baohan quickly said: ”Baoquan, sister-in-law, Ligang, don’t rush to decide on this matter, we can’t drag you down, and Ligang hasn’t talked with Qiaoqiao’s mother yet, it’s not good to decide like this.”

”Exactly, we’ve lived here our whole lives. If we weren’t really left with no other choice, we wouldn’t be willing to leave.” Li Qi wiped the corner of her eye, ”Second brother, sister-in-law, Ligang, I appreciate your kindness, but if we have to make you accompany us through this, I and his dad would feel guilty...”

Li Ligang quickly interrupted Li Qi: ”What’s there to feel guilty about? The most important thing is for us to live together as one big family, otherwise, once Uncle and Aunt leave, Mom and Dad will definitely worry about you every day.

Uncle and Aunt will return to the village, and most of the people don’t recognize them anymore, without anyone who speaks frankly, how can that work? Then again, Qiaoqiao’s mom has a certain temper, Uncle and Aunt aren’t unaware, what are they worried about?”

Luo Ye felt a twinge in her heart: ”You don’t have many acquaintances in the village?”

”That’s right, most originally came to the mines, and now those in the village are mostly migrant workers, hardly anyone we know.

Furthermore...” Li Ligang paused, glancing at Li Baohan and his wife, ”Moreover, Mom and Dad are also worried that if big brother and second brother come to cause trouble, Uncle and Aunt won’t be able to handle it. With us there, they wouldn’t dare.”

What kind of sons did Li Baohan raise! Zhao Qianqian was truly puzzled, how could there be such a huge difference between sons?

”How do you plan to get the money back?” Luo Ye asked again.

”My dad and I, along with Uncle, will go find Seventh Grandpa Li. If it doesn’t work out, we’ll file a lawsuit, otherwise Uncle’s family won’t be able to get by.” Li Ligang responded once more, it seemed he had become the spokesperson.

”Would you be willing to live somewhere else?” Luo Ye asked as she scanned over the group.

”Where would we go?” Li Ligang smiled wryly, ”With what little we have, returning to the village seems to be the only option.”

”Would you be willing to go to Ludong?” Luo Ye quickly added, ”I mean, if I provide you with jobs and a place to live, and guarantee you won’t ever be without shelter or care as you age, would you be willing to go?”

In the elderly care homes under Liangyou, there are many retired veterans, most of whom suffered injuries during wartime, returned to farming in their hometowns, or have remained single with no children.

If these people were cared for by caregivers who have lived in rural areas, it would likely benefit them in body and mind.

Of course, that’s one aspect.

The most important thing is that she still wants to find people for Grandpa to talk to.

Last time, in a phone call with her mother, her mother told her that Grandpa Song’s health is getting worse, and his mind is becoming increasingly confused, Grandpa spending time with him is akin to caring for a child who doesn’t understand.

Birth, aging, illness, and death are inevitable laws of nature, Grandpa Song is already in his eighties, there’s nothing she can do.

Yet, Grandpa is only just seventy, the people in the compound certainly aren’t suitable to be his friends, constantly being flattered and praised is definitely not what Grandpa prefers.

Initially, she even considered letting Grandpa go to a care home to find some companions, but after looking into the staff composition of Ludong Elderly Care Home, there really weren’t any suitable ones.

To make Grandpa happy, spending money to hire people to accompany him is certainly feasible, but she knows full well that if she really did that, Grandpa wouldn’t accept it.

Therefore, she’s only left to find other methods, this time, it happens by coincidence, the family is honest, kind-hearted, having stayed in rural areas, likely they can communicate well with Grandpa.

For her, making Grandpa happy and ensuring his longevity is the most important!

...

The next day, Li Baohan and his wife arrived at the Ludong border, still feeling a bit dazed, always thinking everything in front of them seemed unreal.

And as for Li Baohan’s two sons and daughters-in-law, it felt even more unreal.

That little black pistol, that small booklet stamped with the national emblem—a pair of delicate girls turned out to be such high-ranking figures?

They naturally expressed suspicion, but once the handcuffs were brought out, they were thoroughly intimidated.

No matter how unruly they were, seeing those things scared them to death, they complied with whatever was instructed, as long as they weren’t sent to jail.

Even being foolish, they know that grabbing their parents’ belongings and wrecking the house like that is illegal, they only acted so brazenly because they relied on their parents’ honesty.

Now they’re regretting it to death, not only did they gain nothing, but they had to return the original compensation of sixty thousand to their parents, and even had to pay an additional twenty thousand for house repairs and ten thousand for elderly care.

The key thing is, those two said they must provide three thousand for elderly care to their parents each year, one less cent and they’d be arrested, how is this even allowed?

Li Cuixia grew angrier the more she thought, she took a stick and gave Li Lao Da a good beating, while in Li Lao Er’s family it was quite the opposite, the furious Li Lao Er gave Zhang Xianglan a good beating.

Beaten, the duo could only swallow their humiliation, after all, they were caught in bed with someone else.
