Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 1264 - 757: Things Done for Grandpa (Congratulations to Tangtang on Her Wedding!)

”Wait a moment.” Luo Ye halted, ”As parents, even if their children have reached this point, it’s likely they wouldn’t want them to suffer grievances.

If we really follow Fierce Tiger’s rules, the old couple might thank us on the surface, but deep down, they might blame us. Forget it! Let’s ask them what they think first, don’t do a good deed that turns bad.”

Zhao Qianqian frowned: ”If that’s the case, let’s not get involved.”

”How many parents can truly harden their hearts? Unless they’ve been deeply hurt and have no choice for survival, only then are they forced to make a choice.” Luo Ye sighed lightly, ”Let’s go, ask the old couple’s opinion, and decide whether to help based on the situation.”

Zhao Qianqian responded dully, following behind Luo Ye, head hanging low, walking silently ahead, looking much like a withered eggplant.

Luo Ye glanced at her and laughed: ”Qianqian, you said I’m too prone to impulsiveness, but look at yourself, aren’t you just too emotional?”

”My period’s here, of course I’m emotional.” Zhao Qianqian justified, Luo Ye glanced back at her with a half-smile: ”Really?”

Her eyes flickered unnaturally, her long eyelashes dropped low, and after a while, she lifted her head: ”People always have certain taboos they particularly care about, I don’t know what yours are, Luoluo, but for me, I can’t stand family becoming enemies.”

Recalling Zhao Qianqian’s family issues she mentioned before, Luo Ye slowed his pace to walk shoulder to shoulder with her: ”Different folks, different strokes, don’t keep past issues buried in your heart.”

”I know.” Zhao Qianqian sighed heavily, ”But when I see such situations, it reminds me of my family’s issues.

Dad has two older brothers, an older sister, and a younger sister. Our family is the poorest, and not only do my uncles and aunt look down on us, even Grandpa and Grandma don’t treat us well.

If it weren’t for Grandma and Grandpa rushing to Sha City to help my parents take care of me, allowing them both to work with peace of mind, our situation might be even worse.

Grandpa and Grandma are extremely traditional people; even though they don’t treat my parents well, they insist that we go over during holidays, leaving Grandma and Grandpa to spend the holidays alone.

The same elderly people, why can Grandpa and Grandma have kids around while Grandma and Grandpa must be lonely? Once, Mom and Dad suggested accompanying Grandma and Grandpa for New Year.

As a result, Grandpa and Grandma initially said nothing, but later, when my parents weren’t home, they scolded my Grandma and Grandpa, saying they were trying to steal their son since they had no sons of their own.

Grandma passed away early, and it was partly due to bearing such grievances, which is why I’m especially afraid of seeing family conflicts; Grandma loved me the most.”

Having heard her mention it before, it was after she joined Fierce Tiger that her family could finally hold their head up among relatives; though I never asked the specifics, I could guess the details fairly accurately.

Now listening to her, it aligns pretty much with my assumptions.

Many examples like this exist, children differ, and so do parents. These things, there’s no choice, you just have to accept whether it’s good or bad.

Like her family, Grandpa is excellent, but not one of the uncles or aunt is reliable. If it weren’t for Dad making something of himself, they probably wouldn’t be well-regarded now either.

”Luoluo, I’ve got a lot of acne on my face, do you have any good methods to recommend?” Luo Ye, silent for a while, Zhao Qianqian remembered Luo Ye mentioning her family’s unrest before, and swiftly changed the subject.

Luo Ye surveyed her a few times: ”When washing your face, add some salt to the basin, it can disinfect and remove oil, you’re oily-skinned, this method suits you well.”

When the two returned to Li Baohan’s house, the spectators had all dispersed, leaving only Li Baohan’s couple and his brother’s family tidying up the mess.

Aunt Li saw the two and hurried over: ”These two children, coming over so late, this room is cold like an icehouse, what to do?”

”I haven’t had the chance to tell Uncle.” Li Ligang quickly explained, recounting Luo Ye and Zhao Qianqian’s previous visit.

”Thank you, kids.” Aunt Li wiped her eyes, unsure what else to say.

”Grandpa, Grandma, we want to ask, what do you plan to do next?” Luo Ye asked.

Grandpa Li paused his chores, sighing, ”The family who bought the house came to see it and said if it isn’t cleaned up, they’ll return the money, they don’t want the house.”
