Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 1261 - 755: A Windfall from the Sky

”Brother, how can you be so happy seeing Luoluo and Qianqian? Your wife is right here.” Liu Yu Mei couldn’t help but tease upon seeing her eldest brother’s eyes shine at Luo Ye and Zhao Qianqian.

Liu Yulong slapped his sister’s back lightly: ”You little girl, always trying to stir things up. I’ve been married to your sister-in-law for ten years, don’t you think she knows what kind of person I am?” Then he clapped his hands with excitement, ”I’ve got some good news for everyone, I’ve landed a big contract.”

”Oh?” Mr. Liu’s eyes shifted from the TV, and everyone—Mrs. Liu, Sister Liu, and Liu Yu Mei—focused their gaze on Liu Yulong’s face.

”A major contract with over three million in gross revenue for the year, after expenses, the net profit is about six hundred thousand. I’ve calculated it several times, hehe...” Liu Yulong laughed as he rubbed his hands, too excited to contain himself.

”Really... truly?”

The Liu Family’s eyes widened in disbelief; in this county-level city’s mining district, they couldn’t even dare to think about a six hundred thousand profit in five years, let alone one year.

With just Liu Yulong’s little van, could such a profit be made in a year? ”Wait, something’s off. A year of over three million, how do you have such big expenses, isn’t it just some fuel costs?” Mr. Liu asked, puzzled after collecting his thoughts.

”Uncle, what are you saying? I can’t cover a contract worth over three million all by myself. I need to hire people; at least a dozen people to manage it.

Oh, I haven’t told you what the contract is about yet. It’s a goods delivery contract, handling deliveries for supermarkets, the entire Yuanzhou City is under our responsibility.

Based on the current number of supermarkets, the annual gross revenue is over three million; if the number of supermarkets increases, both the gross and net profits will rise.

Uncle, haven’t you always felt working at the mine was dull? Come help me, you can be the vice president. As for money, since our families are so close, let’s not calculate salary.

Let’s establish a joint-stock company. Uncle, you invest some money, we’ll split everything fifty-fifty, including the profits. What do you think?”

”Xiao Long, that’s too generous, Uncle can’t do that.” Mr. Liu waved his hands repeatedly, glancing at his wife, ”Throwing words out without discussing with your wife, that’s not right.”

”Uncle, I follow Xiao Long’s lead.” Sister Liu quickly expressed her support.

”I also follow Xiao Long’s lead.” Liu Yulong’s chubby son, Liu Xiaolong, raised his hand too.

”You little scamp, always taking advantage of me.” Liu Yulong grimaced helplessly, looking at Grandpa Liu, ”Grandpa, you insisted he be named Liu Xiaolong. Look, father and son with the same name, what does that even mean?”

Mr. Liu chuckled: ”When it was time to name Xiaolong, it had to be that way. The words of your Great Grandpa can’t be ignored, anyway, I think it’s quite good. Look at our Xiao Long, so smart, so sensible.”

”Xiao Long...”

Liu Yulong stopped Liu Mom from saying anything: ”Aunt, no need to say more, I’ve discussed this with my parents, and they both agree.”

”Uncle and Aunt, just agree, please. My dad hasn’t been well lately, and you’ve been helping us a lot. Mom has to take care of Dad, so she can’t look after Xiao Long. This kid has practically grown up at Uncle and Aunt’s house.

You two say, what difference is there between us and one family? Of course, by ’one family’ I mean a family sharing one kitchen pot.”

”Big brother, big brother’s family, Xiao Long’s heartfelt intentions, let’s honor them.” Mr. Liu chuckled with satisfaction. His two sons have been easy to manage since childhood, and after marrying, they haven’t drifted apart.

With grandkids now, both families have become more harmonious, making him as the father happy as well. Look at other families, the sons marry and fall out with the parents, scheming against each other... Thinking about it like this, the old man is so content he smiles even in his sleep.

The only little imperfection is the elder son’s health, having worked too hard in the mine in previous years, resulting in miner’s illness, spending nearly half the year on medication and injections.

This is the fundamental reason the elderly couple often stay at the second son’s house.

Fortunately, the second son’s miner’s illness isn’t too severe. The doctors say as long as he takes care, living to eighty or ninety shouldn’t be a problem. Though these words have a comforting overtone, the likelihood seems quite assured.

Mr. Liu finally nodded: ”Xiao Long, Uncle will accept your kindness, let’s work hard, aim for keeping this contract going next year.”

Liu Yulong smiled proudly: ”Uncle, we’ve signed a five-year contract.”

”Xiao Long, slap me!” Mr. Liu stretched his face towards Liu Yulong, ”Hurry, slap Uncle.”

Liu Yulong, amused and exasperated, pushed Mr. Liu’s face back: ”Uncle, this isn’t a dream.” As far as he could see, he found the Liu Family’s members were all in a state of petrification.
