Chapter 175: Chapter 116: ”Divine Fortune Teller” Yaoguang

Thank you, everyone, I really appreciate all the pink gifts for Nuan. I’m not feeling well today and don’t want to affect the quality, so I will make up for what’s missing tomorrow. Guaranteed pink gifts go to Nuan Bar, love you all.

”This student, which class are you from?”

Qi Qianqian, who was contemplating how to find someone to ask about Luo Ye’s class, was startled by a voice suddenly coming from behind her. Turning around, she saw a fair-skinned boy with a buzz cut and a slightly effeminate appearance smiling at her.

”Yang Yaoguang, senior year, Class 4. And you?” he said, coolly slinging his bag over his shoulder. ”I haven’t seen you before, are you new here?”

Is it a boy or a girl? Qi Qianqian wondered secretly, but her face bloomed with a charming smile: ”I’m not from this school, I came to find a classmate. Her name is Luo Ye, do you know which class she’s in?”

”Yeah, I can take you there,” Yang Yaoguang made a beckoning gesture.

”Thank you...” Qi Qianqian hesitated, ”Actually... you could just tell me which class she’s in and I can go find her myself.”

The corner of Yang Yaoguang’s mouth curled up. ”Let me guess, you’re not friends with Luo Ye, right? Most likely, you’re her love rival, secretly scouting out the situation, not wanting her to find out. And also, the man you like is around 190 cm tall, with eyes that are ink-purple.”

”You... how... why would you say that?” Qi Qianqian’s smile froze on her face, a look of shock in her eyes.

”Did I hit a nerve?” Yang Yaoguang looked proud. ”Do you want me to keep divining for you?”

”Do you read fortunes?” Qi Qianqian looked at Yang Yaoguang in disbelief. He looked at most 17 or 18 years old; even if he were born into that kind of family, he wouldn’t have completed his apprenticeship yet, right?

Qi Qianqian actually believed in divination. She often suffered from unexplained abdominal pain after birth, all the indicators checked by the hospital were so normal they couldn’t be more normal, and she had seen numerous old traditional Chinese medicine experts, all to the same result — perfectly healthy with no issues.

In desperation, Grandpa and her parents took her to the famous Divine Fortune Teller Master Fan, who stroking his beard, said this was her tribulation. If it continued like this until she was 10, treatments would be useless, but after turning 10, it would naturally get better.

This explanation made her family skeptical, worried it would delay the child’s treatment. Eventually, Grandpa made the decision; after visiting top hospitals at home and abroad without a diagnosis, they followed Master Fan’s advice.

Sure enough, after her 10th birthday, she never experienced the problem again. Except for her eldest uncle, Qi Aiguo, who insisted that her body’s resistance strengthened after age 10, everyone else firmly believed in Master Shi’s diagnosis.

Of course, she didn’t believe in ordinary street fortune tellers, but Yang Yaoguang’s words had indeed hit home, which made her somewhat unsure. It had not been easy to pry from her brother that Luo Ye’s school uniform bore the name Island City No. 2 Secondary School, and she had sneaked out while her brother wasn’t paying attention. In other words, no one but her brother could possibly know about it.

”You should be clear whether I can read fortunes or not,” Yang Yaoguang said with a look of mystery. ”I’ll tell you, for those I find disagreeable or dislike, even if they beg, I won’t read for them.”

Qi Qianqian bit her lip and steeled her heart: ”Fine, then keep reading for me, starting with my family background. Let’s see your true abilities!”

The Qi Family had always hoped to form a marriage alliance with the Ye Family and had taken her to see Master Shi; however, they were unlucky that the master was always in seclusion and never managed to succeed. If this person could indeed predict accurately, it would be a windfall for her.

It’s crowded here with people coming and going, let’s go over there.” Yang Yaoguang led the way to a small flowerbed on the side; she was quite a celebrity at school and didn’t want to let a windfall slip through her fingers.

However, things didn’t go as Yang Yaoguang had hoped. The flowerbed was blooming with various chrysanthemums, and many students were holding their books, reading by the flowerbed.

”Forget it, let’s go to the sports field.”

This kind of thing naturally couldn’t be known to others. Qi Qianqian obediently followed Yang Yaoguang to the sports field and, looking at the time with concern, asked, ”Won’t this delay your class?”

”No, morning self-study is voluntary. Regular class starts at 7:45, so we’ve still got almost an hour.” Yang Yaoguang stopped with Qi Qianqian beside an unused basketball hoop: ”Let’s do it here. There’s no problem with me reading for you, but let’s make a bet. If I’m accurate, you’ll be my girlfriend for two months. What do you say?”

”You... despicable!” Qi Qianqian was so angry her pretty face turned red.

Yang Yaoguang chuckled and pinched Qi Qianqian’s cheek: ”How am I despicable? I’m just negotiating with you. If you don’t like it, we can change the condition. Whether you agree or not depends on if it suits me.”
