Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 152: Chapter 104-105: Teasing / Goodbye_2

”How can you tell I’m not very shrewd?” Luo Ye was utterly confused.

Yan Xingnong blinked her big eyes: ”Generally speaking, pretty girls tend to be less savvy.”

Without a word, Luo Ye dug out a pencil case from her backpack, flipped open the lid, and held it up to Yan Xingnong.

”What do you mean?” Yan Xingnong curiously peeked inside, her thin arched eyebrows and charming big eyes, pert little nose, and sensual rosy lips reflected a beautiful girl in the mirror, ”Hehe... mainly, I’m not as pretty as you, so I should be a bit more shrewd than you. Plus, the onlookers see most of the game, right?”

”Do you always worry so much?” Luo Ye looked at Yan Xingnong, who was chuckling, somewhat amused yet exasperated.

”Not really, I only care about people I like, why should I care about others? Pfft!” With that, she grabbed a burger and started devouring it.

Luo Ye teased with a smile, ”Err... your liking for me is quite peculiar, I’m flattered.”

”When it comes to relationships, I completely rely on my feelings. You have a pure and clear gaze and you’re also pretty, I like that! Let me tell you, you are the first friend I made in this city. If anyone dares to bully you, just tell Sister, and I will stand up for you!”

Luo Ye looked at her amusingly, ”The main reason you like me is probably because I didn’t stop you from teasing that little boy and didn’t show any disgust, right?”

”Hehe... why did you have to say it out loud, really! It’s just a hobby of mine.” Yan Xingnong glanced around to ensure no one was nearby, leaned forward, and whispered, ”Let me tell you, whenever I see a pretty little boy, I just want to pinch him. If I can’t, I feel all itchy inside. Oh, how happy I would be if I could pinch cute kids every day!”

Luo Ye: ”...”

”Don’t look so speechless, everyone should have hobbies, mine’s just a bit unique.” Meanwhile, Yan Xingnong had finished all the food on her plate, clutching a large Coke and sipping through the straw, a stark contrast to her slightly mature or ladylike appearance.

”Do you not have family here?”

”I do, but after my parents transferred jobs, it wasn’t convenient for me to study there, so I moved to my grandparents’. You’re probably wondering why I’m eating at KFC alone?” Yan Xingnong’s face crinkled, ”Let me tell you, the food my grandma cooks has barely any visible oil or meat. I couldn’t stand it after just one day, so I had to sneak out to satisfy my cravings.

I was really worried I’d end up cooking Little Rascal if I stayed home any longer; Little Rascal is my grandmother’s precious darling, she’d probably bury me with him if something happened.”

”Pfft!” Luo Ye burst into laughter. This kid was too funny. Without asking, she knew Little Rascal must be a pet, likely a cat or dog.

”Hey, why hasn’t your boyfriend shown up yet? Let me tell you, it’s not right for a girl to wait for a boy. Why do you indulge him like that?” Yan Xingnong sipped her drink, scanning the surroundings, ”I’ve finished my meal, and the person you’re waiting for hasn’t even shown a shadow. He’s really not taking you seriously, is he?”

”I’m not waiting for a boyfriend, but for two good friends, a brother and sister. They live quite far from here.” Luo Ye checked the time, ”They should be arriving soon.”

”Oh, I see, you should’ve said earlier. Shh... I’ll hide next to you, don’t look around suspiciously!” As she spoke, Yan Xingnong swiftly crouched next to Luo Ye, her speed comparable to a trained secret agent.

Luo Ye was confused, just about to ask what was going on when she saw the little boy whose face Yan Xingnong had pinched, entering the restaurant with a middle-aged woman, both of them looking around as if searching for someone.

Luo Ye’s lips curved into a smile, ”Pinching felt good, didn’t it? Go pinch a few more times, they’ve come right to you. It’d be a waste not to.”

”Absolutely do not sell me out, even if they came to thank me for so many meals, it’s not allowed. If my grandpa found out, he’d kill me. Amitabha Buddha, may Buddha bless...”

While someone was rambling, the little boy and his mother approached Luo Ye, causing her to tense up, wondering if they had been discovered.

”It’s all over, all over...” Yan Xingnong could see from between the table legs that the mother and son were heading their direction.

”Why didn’t you think of that when you were pinching?” Luo Ye was also quickly thinking of a plan.

Just then, Luoyang and Luo Shui came in through the door, spotting Luo Ye immediately. Luoyang ran over: ”Sister Ye’er, my brother and I rushed over, did you wait long?”
