She Lives without Regret in This Life

Chapter 1701: Chapter 1778: Driven Out of the House

Xu Xianxiong, who hadn’t finished speaking, raised his voice and added, ”Ningning, the custodial rights for the kids... what’s the plan?” He was so anxious that he almost jumped up; Lanzhi made him kneel on a washboard last night.

Lanzhi said if she couldn’t take care of her grandson and granddaughter, he would have to kneel on the washboard every day in the future. He’s already at this age, a grandfather, how can he kneel on a washboard every day? It would be too embarrassing to mention.

Sheng Ning felt a headache at the mention of custodial rights. The biggest annoyance these days was that both sets of grandparents wanted to take care of the grandchildren so badly that they were nearly rolling up their sleeves to fight over it.

As both a wife and a daughter caught in the middle, it was really hard for her to speak. Whether it’s Zhao Lanzi or Shen Luhua, both are people she trusts deeply. She feels completely at ease leaving the kids with either of them.

Instead, her father-in-law... uh... she feels he’s somewhat unreliable. Her dad’s health and mobility issues prevent him from taking care of the children. Anyway, before she left she had already entrusted the children to Shen Luhua and Zhao Lanzi.

One is her mother, the other is her mother-in-law; no matter how you look at it, this combination is quite odd, but the two are very willing. They handle taking care of the children adeptly and guarantee to be open-minded grandmothers taking great care of the kids.

Sheng Ning is at ease, but Sheng Laosan and Xu Xianxiong are not happy. It seems the purpose of her visit back wasn’t to see them but to break them up, make them divorce!

When they went out in the morning, Zhao Lanzi had already packed Xu Xianxiong’s things and threw them outside the door. She wanted him to make space for her mother-in-law to live, sending Xu Xianxiong to live together with the father-in-law.

Shen Luhua expressed complete agreement.

Suddenly, Sheng Laosan’s good-natured face turned dark; turns out he is an unnecessary grandfather too. He couldn’t swallow this and resolutely opposed the decision.

”That’s right, what Brother Xu said is correct.” Sheng Laosan stood outside the car window and muttered, ”Ningning! Luhua doesn’t know how to take care of kids, how can you leave the children with her? No way, I oppose it.”

”That’s true! What Brother Sheng said is right.” Xu Xianxiong hurriedly added fuel to the fire, ”Lanzi doesn’t know how to take care of kids either. She can’t even cook, how could she take care of kids? Do we have to take the kids to this house for a meal and to another house for a meal in the future when it’s mealtime?”

Sheng Ning wanted to laugh but didn’t dare to; it’s bold of the father-in-law to mention it, considering Living Yama’s childhood was just like that.

”Father-in-law, it doesn’t matter if the mother-in-law can’t cook, my mom can cook, so it’s actually perfect.” Heaven knows, it wasn’t her choice to allocate like this. This outcome was mutually agreed upon by her mom and mother-in-law and strictly cannot be changed.

”Dad, how come you say mom can’t take care of kids? Wasn’t An’an well taken care of?” Sheng Ning was really left with no options; such a sweet burden should be handed over to Living Yama to sort out, ”Both of you should go back quickly! It’s cold outside.”

”Where are you asking me to go back?” Xu Xianxiong stared wide-eyed, with a bag slung over his shoulder, looking pitiful, and said, ”Is there any space left in the house for me?”

”...”

”Dad, instead of worrying about him, focus on thinking of a proper name for little brother. Back then Qigang said that the name must be decided by you.”

Upon hearing this, Xu Xianxiong’s face immediately lit up with joy, feeling like something finally went right for him. So he dragged Sheng Laosan along, urging the daughter-in-law to hurry up and leave, lest they miss the train.

As the car moved away, he suddenly slapped his thigh, startling Sheng Laosan.
