She Lives without Regret in This Life

Chapter 1692: Chapter 1769: Who Will Take Care of the Children

Shen Luhua arrived home just after noon, having rushed through the market in the morning. As soon as she entered the village, she saw Sheng Laosan standing at the door waiting for her. He was surprised by the large bags she was carrying, but then he guessed that Ningning must be coming back.

Otherwise, Luhua wouldn’t buy so much stuff.

”Is Ningning coming back? Is Ningning coming back? Where is she now? When will she arrive? Do you want me to pick her up?” Sheng Laosan, dressed in a warm cotton jacket, happily came forward.

His old cold legs, a result of the battlefield, made walking impossible when the winters came. However, since Sheng Ning became thoughtful and bought him a lot of effective medicine, combined with not having to do any heavy physical labor, Sheng Laosan’s legs improved a lot.

Shen Luhua glanced at Sheng Laosan approvingly, surprised at how quickly he figured things out by looking at the things she bought and realizing Ningning was coming back.

”She’ll arrive tomorrow; she said there’s no need to pick her up since there will be a car bringing her.”

”How about the little brother and little sister?”

”They’re coming back together. Ningning plans to leave the two children in the countryside with us for half a year this time.” Shen Luhua finished speaking and suddenly thought of her in-laws’ gloomy faces, prompting her to furrow her brow.

”This is a good thing! Why aren’t you happy?”

Shen Luhua had a very solemn expression, ”The children are coming back, are we going to take care of them or are the in-laws going to do it?” It was a major issue; she categorically wouldn’t give up the right to take care of the grandchildren.

Sheng Laosan didn’t even think twice, ”Of course we’ll take care of them. Our precious grandchildren are coming back. Are we supposed to let Xu Xianxiong take care of them? Apart from fighting and carrying a knife around for no reason, what else does he even do?”

Once good brothers and in-laws had turned straight into old bastards.

It must be said, Sheng Laosan’s ability to flip out quickly was astonishing; even Shen Luhua was taken aback. She had never seen the usually honest Sheng Laosan act so shamelessly in all the years she’d been married into the family.

”Yes, what you’re saying makes sense. Let’s handle it like this.” Shen Luhua was considering more. She also wanted to take care of her grandchildren. Ever since Ningning was willing to entrust the children to them for six months, she felt like she could laugh with joy even in her dreams.

If she were to give this opportunity to the in-laws, she would be truly unwilling.

”Right, we’ll never back down.”

”It’s decided then.”

The couple agreed in unison, just waiting for their daughter to come back. Sheng Laosan, thinking that Ningning was coming back, was also mindful of An’an’s situation. ”Is An’an coming back this time? She hasn’t been back for a long time, this girl only wrote a letter last time.”

Sheng Laosan’s affection for his two daughters had always been the same, his mind constantly concerned about the eldest daughter, his care for her unyielding.

Shen Luhua knew she was actually the first person to notice An’an’s unusual behavior a long time ago, already aware of the situation at heart.

If it were An’an, the girl loved to stick around with the family. Bao’er’s personality was much colder; having gone so long without contacting the family meant it was definitely Bao’er.

She had great confidence in Bao’er; the girl was incredibly smart. With this thought, her brow slightly twitched due to the increased worry caused by Shen Ming’s arrival today.

Shen Ming was her nephews from her maternal side. Back then, her brother at home had been very supportive to her, and it was impossible not to help in return. Writing that letter was all she could do, but when it came to Bao’er’s choices, the determination lay in her own hands.

If An’an saw her letter, she would undoubtedly agree without a word.

But now with Bao’er, she absolutely wouldn’t let anyone influence her thoughts.
