She Lives without Regret in This Life

Chapter 215: Chapter 217: Modify the Script Chapter 215: Chapter 217: Modify the Script “She really has something to do with Shen Jianguo?” Yang Wenying blurted out, “That’s not surprising, after all, she chased after Shen Jianguo before, and it caused quite a stir. I thought she’d changed, but it turns out she hasn’t.”

She still felt a bit disappointed.

“It’s not Shen Jianguo,” Qiu Bai said mysteriously.

“Then who is it…” Yang Wenying thought about the time she went to the War Wolf Rescue Team when she heard that everyone was calling Sheng Ning elder sister-in-law. Her brow furrowed sharply.

“It’s Living Yama!”

“That’s right, you didn’t see that coming, did you?”

“I did,” Yang Wenying insisted on playing her cards unpredictably, “but if she could marry Living Yama, that’s also good fortune.”

Other women might fear Living Yama, but she knew just how outstanding such a man was. Otherwise, those old Presidents and top leaders wouldn’t be trying to find ways to make Living Yama their son-in-law.

“But now, some people are going to be furious.”

“But! Since Sheng Ning has landed Living Yama, it saves us trouble too. Having overly attractive female comrades is also troublesome.” As far as she knew, this time it was Shen Jianguo who took the initiative, not to mention the even more cunning Meng Ping. The troubles to come were plenty!

“We need to find a way to promote her quickly, get her married off, otherwise she’s too attractive.” Even she wouldn’t dare to offend Meng Ping, that Demon Lord of Mayhem, lightly.

“Isn’t that what Living Yama should be working on?” Leaving such a pretty wife at home and not being able to go back must be keeping him up at night, right?

“That makes sense.” They exchanged smiles.

Yang Wenying pushed the documents on the table towards Qiu Bai, “Here, take a look. Our Song and Dance Troupe’s got even bigger moves coming up.”

A musical, a play, and they’re both large-scale. The coming days were going to be busy.

“Blood Rose?”

“Mhm! Su Hai personally approved it. The script isn’t in hand yet, but for Su Hai to personally approve a project, the other party must have significant clout!”

“Let’s hope it’s a good script.”

“Fingers crossed!”

Zhang Hongmei didn’t return until the afternoon, and when she came back, Sheng Ning was hunched over the desk revising the script. Originally, she had planned to spend all day outside today, and the script would not be available until tomorrow. Now with a whole extra afternoon, she had just enough time to finish revising the script.

Going out today made her understand the importance of money even more. And she owed five thousand yuan in debt, which loomed over her head like a guillotine.

In fact, when it came to making money, she had lots of ideas. It was the initial period of economic reform, and many had earned their first pot of gold during this time.

With her vision and familiarity with future developments, making money should be easier for her than anyone else.

But unfortunately, she lacked startup capital and, even more so, time. It was not easy to even leave the General Union premises, let alone go into business.

After careful consideration, she figured that to make money, she needed to start with writing scripts.

This was all thanks to Su Hai; otherwise, she wouldn’t have thought of it.

She had a wealth of experience and a keen eye, understanding the pulse of the era and the trends. She could write songs, scripts, plays.

And this was her interest; enjoying it meant she would put in the effort to study. In fact, there were many learning opportunities within the General Union, and as long as she worked hard, she would always gain more chances to learn.

Realizing all this, Sheng Ning immediately felt a surge of motivation.

When Zhang Hongmei walked in, she saw Sheng Ning grinning foolishly. “Seeing Captain Xu made you smile like an idiot alone here?”

Sheng Ning’s face flushed, and she retorted, “Hong Mei, how can you tease me too?”
