I Can Gain One Skill Point Per Second

Chapter 928: Chapter 928: News of an Old Friend

”Hey, brother, are you seriously blind, not recognizing the big shot behind me? He’s here on business at the dispatch center; you think you can stop him?”

I tell you, this guy Dezi acts just like that chubby Feng Sanyou.

With someone backing them, their demeanor is extremely arrogant.

”Ha, you low-level fatso, dare to boss around in front of me. Don’t think you can scare me with any stray cats and dogs. Seriously, you think you’re intimidating this Guardian...”

The Guardian didn’t finish his sentence before Lin Yi pulled out his ”Ugly”-level Dark Rising member ring from his personal space and presented it to the Guardian.

Gazing at the clear imprint on the ring and feeling the unique Divine Power emanating from it, the boastful words he was about to spew had to be swallowed back down.

Young as he is, Lin Yi had become a core member of Dark Rising, possessing a level-five ring, a rarity within the entire Dark Rising Organization.

Speaking of this ”Ugly”-level ring, it indeed commanded admiration.

Shakyamuni, a target Dark Rising deemed unexploitable, a task entirely abandoned, just reading those words makes it obvious; completing this mission seemed nearly impossible.

Yet Lin Yi managed to do it.

Single-handedly advancing the rise of the Dark Rising Organization by hundreds and thousands of years ahead, and garnering a Divine Artifact of the Divine River Song caliber in the Land of the Nine Netherworld.

Lin Yi’s reputation and story have already spread widely throughout Dark Rising, endorsed uniformly even by those with strength surpassing Lin Yi.

Let alone these security members, for whom admiration and awe for Lin Yi are like an unending river.

Upon realizing the young man’s identity, then reflecting on the boastful words he’d just uttered, he couldn’t help but feel anxious:

Offending such a big shot, how would he eventually manage to handle this?

”I am Lin Yi, and I wonder if this ring allows me direct access to the dispatch center to meet Dragon Queen. Having been idle for half a year, I’m eager to find something to engage in.”

Upon hearing Lin Yi’s words, the guard confirmed his speculation.

Despite uncertainty on how Lin Yi planned to address his disrespect, he instinctively stepped aside.

”Lord Lin Yi, given your status, you can naturally come and go as you wish; please proceed.”

After expressing his gratitude, Lin Yi strutted into the dispatch center with an arrogant Dezi.

Let me tell you, the dispatch center is surely designed to be complex enough.

It took Lin Yi and Dezi quite some time to locate Dragon Queen’s position.

In half a year, Dragon Queen visibly aged; her face marked by noticeable grayness and fatigue, apparent even to the naked eye.

Only upon seeing such a rare visitor like Lin Yi did a hint of brightness emerge on Dragon Queen’s face.

”Oh, kid, you finally came out.”

”You sure have become much sturdier in the last six months.”

Lin Yi’s frame isn’t exactly bulky.

After emerging from seclusion this time, his muscle lines and angles became much more defined; certainly, he seems fitter.

”Dragon Queen, you seem to have grown quite weary!”

Lin Yi smiled slightly, sitting in front of Dragon Queen with Dezi.

Looking at the pile of materials beside her, Dragon Queen couldn’t help but sigh; the newfound brightness on her face instantly dimmed again.

”There’s no choice. So much has happened in the past half-year; it’s overwhelming. The number of Dark Rising members has exploded, and so have our territories. You’ve probably heard—most of the Desire Realm is now under Dark Rising’s control. Allocating the extra members and securing such a large plane is no simple task.”

”This old lady often ends up sitting here for days; how could I not be weary?”

To Dragon Queen’s complaints, Lin Yi could only offer comfort in response; he didn’t intend or even had the qualifications to relieve Dragon Queen’s burdens, merely saying things she would appreciate, to lift her spirits.

”By the way, kid, you’re not here just to mock this old lady, are you?”

Lin Yi chuckled.

”How could I, senior Dragon Queen? Today, I came solely to report to you, besides, having idled in Dark Rising for this long, I should lend a hand and share some of the pressure for the organization.”

Lin Yi’s manner of speaking has always been soothing.

Even Dragon Queen knew those were pleasantries; her mood instantly brightened.

”Since you are looking for tasks, I’ll arrange some for you. Given your current strength, getting into conflicts with some of the All Celestial Divine Beings would indeed pose no risk. However, you are incredibly vital to Dark Rising. If you’re not opposed to it, here’s a relatively simple task; are you willing to take it?”

Upon hearing yet another simple task, Lin Yi’s expression immediately darkened.

Every time, it’s marginalized tasks against enemies with little power; he couldn’t gain practical combat experience.

However, Dragon Queen’s next words sparked Lin Yi’s interest.

”There’s a squad, origins unknown from which plane, that we’ve observed for quite a while. They’ve slain several Divine Soldiers and Guardians of Order and are now targeted by All Celestial Divine Beings. According to our intel, this time the Celestial Beings dispatched twenty Divine Soldiers for their eradication.”

”To you, kid, twenty Divine Soldiers can be wiped out with a flick of your finger, but for those from the lower plane, it would be catastrophic. As for why we’ve watched this crew, it’s entirely because of something they possess.”

”Among those guys, one has mastered a means of equipment Enhancement.”

Equipment Enhancement.

Those four words are quite familiar to Lin Yi.

Yet among All Celestial Divine Beings it’s immensely novel.

Members of the Dark Rising Organization hardly knew equipment could even be Enhanced, so it’s unsurprising they’ve focused on this Enhancement ability.

Upon hearing this, Lin Yi’s expression immediately froze.

As Lin Yi knows, equipment forging and Enhancement is a skill unique to Blue Star, not possessed by any other planet, not even the Upper Plane.

Could it be that the supposed squad is a group from Blue Star?

Realizing the high probability of his hypothesis being correct, Lin Yi’s heart instantly tightened.

When he left, Nangong Ling and Sun Dachuan had just grasped very basic Divine Power and Taichu.

Twenty Divine Soldiers were absolutely an unbeatable force for them.

Faced with such opponents assigned to their eradication, wouldn’t their odds of survival be frighteningly low?

To prevent Dragon Queen from perceiving his inner thoughts, Lin Yi suppressed his excitement and started analyzing with righteous words.

”Can equipment be manipulated this way? Reflecting on it, reinforced equipment should considerably augment the user’s combat capability. Successfully bringing this group back and having them willingly join Dark Rising would be paramount for the organization.”
