Chapter 903: Chapter 903: The Old Dragon God?!

The two of them bantering with each other was a sight that hadn’t been seen at the Dark Rising Headquarters for many years.

The humor in the air was so infectious that even Ruolan, who was watching from the side, couldn’t help but cover her mouth and laugh.

Lin Yi didn’t mind Chai Po’s friendliness.

Guys like Chai Po, who act like brutes, often have the purest minds. Whatever they do is quite straightforward, and when you’re with them, you don’t have to worry about being manipulated. At a critical moment, they might even choose to sacrifice themselves for a sense of justice.

On the surface, Lin Yi seemed to have a better relationship with Ruolan, but when it really came down to life and death, it was people like Chai Po that you could rely on.

As their joking continued, Lin Yi sensed five powerful presences speeding toward him from afar.

Just as he turned his head, those five strong presences transformed into beams of light, each a different color, landing right in front of Lin Yi.

As the light faded, five figures emerged from within the glow.

Aside from an elderly woman leaning on a cane, there were four young women who looked and had figures exactly alike, differing only in their attire.

Chai Po and Ruolan paid no heed to the four pretty young women but were particularly respectful to the elderly woman with the cane. Their expressions turned serious the moment they saw her.

”Greetings, Dragon Granny.”

Hearing those words, Lin Yi finally reacted, realizing that the elder with slightly inconvenient legs in front of him was holding a cane with a dragon’s head crutch.

Lin Yi was still in a daze when Chai Po couldn’t hold back and promptly reminded him.

”Hey, buddy, what are you doing? Hurry up and pay your respects to Dragon Granny?”

Chai Po appeared quite nervous, indicating that this elderly woman known as Dragon Granny held significant status within Dark Rising.

”Lin Yi, do not be disrespectful, this is Lady Dragon Granny...”

Ruolan also hurriedly reminded him in a low voice.

However, something unexpected soon happened.

Known for being harsh on others and rigid with rules, Dragon Granny did not exert any pressure on Lin Yi this time and was rather lenient.

The expected stern expression did not appear, and when she looked at Lin Yi, her eyes were quite benevolent.

”What are you two up to, frightening Lin Yi like this on his first day? What, do you think this old lady is some evil spirit, or do you two feel abused by me all the time?”

Upon hearing these words tinged with a hint of annoyance, Chai Po and Ruolan hurriedly apologized to Dragon Granny in fear.

Unexpectedly, Dragon Granny ignored the two of them and instead grasped Lin Yi’s hand in her dry and withered one.

In an instant, a familiar yet intimate sensation, which he had never before experienced, transmitted to Lin Yi’s mind.

In his moment of confusion, the elderly woman spoke.

”Lad, do you not feel that I mean you no harm?”

Lin Yi nodded.

Proper etiquette must still be observed, so after coming to his senses, he politely greeted the elderly woman with a gesture of respect.

”As a newcomer, if I have offended you, please forgive me, Elder. I am Lin Yi, greetings to Dragon Granny.”

His neither-humble-nor-arrogant demeanor and polite speech made Dragon Granny really fond of the young man before her.

Her face, which had been stern for years, showed a rare gentle smile.

”Hey, hey, there’s no need to be so formal. Young people needn’t be so constrained by these courtesies.”

???

Come on, sis!

You’re never like this usually!

Chai Po and Ruolan were dumbfounded.

They had seen for themselves Dragon Granny’s stubbornness and adherence to rules.

The notion of not being bound by etiquette was completely unbelievable coming from Dragon Granny.

Having said this, Dragon Granny chuckled and looked at Lin Yi.

”Young man, do you find my aura somewhat familiar? If so, can you guess who I truly am?”

Although aged, you could still tell this elderly woman possessed the features typical of Xia, suggesting she might be related to Xia’s deities.

Considering the long history of Xia, there were only a few remarkable figures.

Since this elderly woman was named Dragon Granny, could she be associated with the Dragon Race?

After a brief thought, Lin Yi cupped his hands and bowed to the elderly woman.

”As a junior, let me venture a guess: are you perhaps the Dragon God from thousands of years ago in Xia?”

Named Dragon Granny and giving Lin Yi a familiar feeling, she must be the Dragon God.

Upon having her identity guessed, Dragon Granny laughed joyfully.

Thinking to herself, it’s clear you are someone significantly connected to the Dragon Race, with an extraordinary insight.

”Yes, yes, this old woman is indeed the Dragon God. Come, Lin Yi, I will show you the residence the organization has arranged for you.”

And so, under Dragon Granny’s guidance, Lin Yi flew toward a purple planet, with the four identical-looking young women following close behind.

Meanwhile, Chai Po and Ruolan were left in their original spots, awkwardly looking at each other.

The two who were very familiar with the Dark Rising Headquarters well understood Dragon Granny’s character. Her being so courteous to a newcomer today was indeed something beyond expectations.

”Hey, Ruolan, you talked a lot with brother Lin Yi on the way here, how is he related to the Dragon Race, and how come I don’t know?”

Ruolan rolled her eyes at Chai Po:

I have no idea, he didn’t tell me much. Besides, on the way here, I mainly talked about the situation of Dark Rising, so how would I know his past? By the way, brother Lin Yi is much more capable than you; he just arrived and has already received care from four Goddesses, which elevates his status much higher than yours.

On any usual day, Chai Po would definitely argue when his goddess compared him unfavorably to another man.

But now, Chai Po didn’t bother.

He knew well enough that he couldn’t compare to Lin Yi, especially since the Divine River Song chose its master; he had been clear about this.

Upon landing on the purple planet, Lin Yi was astonished by the dreamlike scene before him.

It was then he understood why, from a distance, the planet appeared to have a purple exterior.

It turned out this planet was home to various bizarre plants Lin Yi had never seen before.

There were large mushrooms growing with transparent tentacles that continuously released spores, and massive dandelions that leaped incessantly in the air.

”Lin Yi, we’re here; this will be your residence from now on.”

Dragon Granny led Lin Yi, hovering in the air, below them a large house that, from its exterior alone, hinted at luxurious interiors.

”These plants are rather aggressive, but they can sense a being’s strength. Given your current power, there’s no need to worry about them attacking you; on the contrary, they ensure peace from bothersome animals that could disturb your rest.”

Listening to Dragon Granny’s explanation, Lin Yi felt a warmth in his heart.

Yet, within Lin Yi, there was a certain tension.

According to Ao Xuan, thousands of years ago, the Dragon God’s power had been too overwhelming. After laying the groundwork for Xia’s territory, he was set up by Xia’s professionals along with those from other nations, eventually leading to his downfall.

Having experienced such an ordeal, it was impossible for Lin Yi not to feel anxious about Dragon Granny.
