Why Would an Aircraft Carrier Be Dispatched to Escort His Fishing Boat?

192: Chapter 192 Catching MonkeysJiang Chen shared his plan with Professor Shen Wanyu.

The plan was to use Old Fungus Lao’s sensitivity to scents to track down the whereabouts of the Deep Space Giant Monkey.

Since Old Fungus Lao could find nearby nutrient solutions using the shortest possible route, it should easily be able to find where the Deep Space Giant Monkey had gone.

After hearing Jiang Chen’s plan, Professor Shen Wanyu pondered for a moment. ”Previously, we only tested it with food. I’m not sure if it will work when testing it with a monkey’s scent.”

”We’ll know once we try it.”

Jiang Chen said.

”Alright, let’s head to the Flat Peach Garden first.”

Soon.

The group arrived at the Flat Peach Garden, carrying Old Fungus Lao in its testing box.

”This spot is roughly where the Deep Space Giant Monkey appeared.”

Professor Shen Wanyu pointed to the original location of the monkey-head mushrooms.

Only now, there were no monkey-head mushrooms left; it was just an empty patch of ground.

”Xiao Cai, let Old Fungus Lao out.”

Under Professor Shen Wanyu’s direction, Director Cai Minghui slowly opened the testing box, allowing Old Fungus Lao to pick up the surrounding scents.

However.

Old Fungus Lao seemed to be sensitive to the cold; it huddled inside the testing box, stubbornly refusing to come out.

”Is it really that afraid of the cold?”

Jiang Chen crouched down.

He poured some nutrient solution onto the snowy ground.

Only then did Old Fungus Lao couldn’t help but extend some slime mold. After consuming the nutrient solution, it retracted back inside.

Clearly, this fellow was quite clever, leaving as soon as it finished eating.

Jiang Chen smiled and poured out even more nutrient solution. Instantly, Old Fungus Lao deployed all its slime mold and began to feast greedily.

Seeing this, Jiang Chen immediately shut the testing box.

He had Director Cai Minghui put it away.

After finishing the nutrient solution on the snow, Old Fungus Lao looked around for the testing box.

”Stop looking. You spend every day in the lab eating and waiting to die; it’s time you did some work.”

”Find the monkey-head mushrooms that were at this spot, and I’ll give you even more nutrient solution.”

Jiang Chen pointed to the spot where the monkey-head mushrooms had disappeared.

Old Fungus Lao’s slime mold circled around the location of the monkey-head mushrooms for a while.

It was unclear whether it was extracting the scent or looking for a path.

After a moment.

It began to crawl toward the depths of the Flat Peach Garden at a speed much faster than usual.

Jiang Chen followed quickly. Before long, it crawled out of the Flat Peach Garden and headed toward the steep mountain peaks outside, its speed increasing steadily.

”Oh no, it’s going to run away!”

Professor Shen Wanyu was anxious; they couldn’t let Old Fungus Lao escape!

Jiang Chen reassured him, ”It’s fine, Professor Shen. This thing will come back for the sake of the nutrient solution.”

As he spoke.

He shouted toward the sky.

”Boat, come!”

The small fishing boat automatically flew over.

He jumped on and said to Professor Shen Wanyu, ”Professor Shen, you guys go back first. I’ll follow it!”

With a whoosh.

The small fishing boat flew out of the Flat Peach Garden.

”Position and track the Old Fungus Lao below!”

Jiang Chen ordered the small fishing boat’s intelligent positioning system to scan the rapidly spreading Old Fungus Lao below throughout the journey.

At the beginning.

Jiang Chen’s small fishing boat easily kept up with Old Fungus Lao at Mach 1.

He watched it spread across valleys and crawl over mountain peaks with extreme speed, moving like a shadow.

But later.

Old Fungus Lao’s speed became faster and faster. Even when the small fishing boat accelerated to Mach 3, it was actually struggling a bit to keep up.

”This is insane. How can a slime mold have such incredible speed?”

Jiang Chen was shocked and directly increased the speed to Mach 10.

As they went deeper into the Antarctic continent, the environment became increasingly harsh. polar night conditions even appeared, with no sunlight at all in the surroundings.

So, he turned on the thermal imaging.

He firmly tracked Old Fungus Lao.

Although this thing ran fast, it still emitted a certain amount of thermal energy and could be tracked the entire way.

An hour later.

The small fishing boat had followed Old Fungus Lao to a pitch-black patch of permafrost.

Old Fungus Lao stopped in place and no longer moved.

Jiang Chen’s small fishing boat also stopped. He looked around, somewhat puzzled. ”Strange, why did it stop?”

Just as he finished speaking.

Not far behind where the small fishing boat was hovering, a mountain peak was suddenly smashed open by something.

A giant furry hand smashed toward the small fishing boat.

”Holy crap!”

Jiang Chen felt a sudden chill at the crown of his head.

He accelerated to leave the original hovering spot.

Looking back, he saw a thermal image of a giant monkey several hundred meters tall. It was pounding at the mountains and peaks like a gorilla, occasionally beating its own chest.

Because it was thermal imaging, even though Jiang Chen couldn’t see the other party’s face clearly, he could still see two massive clusters of energy at its chest. It looked as if some kind of energy conversion was taking place inside its body.

This energy conversion was so enormous that in Jiang Chen’s thermal imaging, the Deep Space Giant Monkey’s chest looked like a volcanic area erupting with massive energy.

”Could this be Spirit Fusion?”

Jiang Chen instinctively thought of the Spirit Fusion of the ancient Kuafu.

With such vast energy concentrated in a single biological body, it was very likely Spirit Fusion.

After all, the vital signs of a normal person couldn’t possibly contain so much energy.

”Dad, you’re looking at it wrong. The location of those two energy clusters is the monkey’s butt.”

At that moment.

Beside him, Commander Jiang Qiuzhi pointed at the thermal image on the cockpit display and explained to Jiang Chen.

For some reason, the upper body of this Deep Space Giant Monkey was completely cold and silent, while its lower body was filled with thermal energy. The energy was most intense at the butt, looking like molten lava.

Jiang Chen looked closely and realized that the position of those two energy clusters was indeed a bit off; they didn’t look like the chest. His face turned red as he rubbed his eyes. ”Sigh, my old eyes are failing me, failing me indeed.”

As he spoke.

Jiang Chen also finally realized that this Deep Space Giant Monkey wasn’t just a few hundred meters tall—its lower body alone was several hundred meters. If you added the upper body, wouldn’t it be a thousand meters?

Holy shit!

A thousand-meter-tall Deep Space Giant Monkey!

He remembered that earlier in the Southern Heavenly Gate chat group, Professor Shen Wanyu had said a monkey several dozen meters tall had left the Flat Peach Garden.

How long had it been?

That monkey, which was dozens of meters tall, had actually grown to nearly a thousand meters.

Just as Jiang Chen was in shock.

The small fishing boat’s system detected a giant tail swinging toward them again.

Fortunately, the small fishing boat was very agile and easily dodged it.

”Roar roar roar~”

The Deep Space Giant Monkey seemed somewhat annoyed.

It was so angry it wanted to fly over and smash this small fishing boat down.

And at this time.

Jiang Chen also opened the cockpit.

Outside, the wind was biting and it was pitch black. Without the aid of thermal imaging, he couldn’t even see where the Deep Space Giant Monkey was.

However, right then.

Jiang Chen gave a low shout.

”With thunder, illuminate the Antarctic!”

Countless bolts of lightning flashing with thunderous light erupted from his body, rising into the sky and quickly illuminating the surroundings.

It also illuminated the Terracotta Warriors.

”General Meng Tian~!”

”General Bai Qi!”

”It is time for our imperial expedition... to conquer the monkey!”

Jiang Chen took out the tiger tally and issued orders to the Terracotta Warriors.

”A mere little monkey, yet it dares to run wild here.”

General Bai Qi swung his curved sickle, instantly hooking it around the monkey’s head.

The Deep Space Giant Monkey roared. It was just minding its own business here, where did these bastards come from!

It shook its head, flinging off the curved sickle.

At the same time, its massive, diamond-like arms swung toward the Terracotta Warriors.

General Meng Tian suddenly held his ancient sword and his figure surged forward.

The sword light transformed into a wall of blades, forcefully blocking the arms swung by the Deep Space Giant Monkey.

”Back! Back! Back!”
