Why Would an Aircraft Carrier Be Dispatched to Escort His Fishing Boat?

168: Chapter 168 The sea level rises, half a meter in half a day”Uncle, hurry up and let go of my ear!”

Being pulled by the ear, Jiang Xiaoran couldn’t help but protest loudly.

After Jiang Chen led her away from the flood control volunteer center, he finally let go of her ear: ”You’re just causing trouble.”

”I, I had good intentions!” Jiang Xiaoran retorted.

Jiang Chen sighed: ”Good intentions can easily lead to bad results. With your current abilities, how can you fight a flood... no, this is a sea disaster!”

”If something happens to you, how am I supposed to explain it to your father and grandfather?”

Jiang Chen analyzed the situation for her while leading her home.

The current expansion of the ocean, if it continued, would cause seawater to flow inland and directly swallow the entire coast.

When that time comes.

The entire city would have to evacuate.

Flood control would no longer be effective.

After hearing this, Jiang Xiaoran’s enthusiasm was dampened. She hung her head and said, ”Then what should we do? Do we evacuate now?”

She had planned to continue selling Mengpo Soup after the flood control efforts.

She didn’t expect.

That they would actually have to evacuate.

Jiang Chen shook his head: ”It’s not certain yet, but hurry up and pack your things. If the seawater starts flowing inland, I’ll arrange for you to head further inland.”

”What about Auntie?”

After returning home, Jiang Xiaoran didn’t see Xue Yao back yet and asked with some concern.

”She’s overseas, but don’t worry, she’ll be fine.”

As Jiang Chen spoke, he began packing things at home.

Jiang Xiaoran helped him on the side.

Once they were mostly finished packing.

Jiang Chen told Jiang Xiaoran to stay at home while he went to the port.

Whether the seawater would flood inland depended on whether the water level at the port rose.

Once it started rising, an early warning would certainly be issued to begin evacuating the citizens.

For those who couldn’t evacuate in time, Zhujiang Port also had five major aircraft carrier fleets that had returned from Penglai.

These five major aircraft carrier fleets were mainly composed of warships from the Ganjing Aircraft Carrier, Weisheng Aircraft Carrier, and five aircraft carrier fleets from the United States, which had been broken down, reorganized, and refitted.

Although their combat power was not as good as the four domestically produced aircraft carrier fleets, they were more than enough for transporting resources and carrying people.

Seeing Jiang Chen was going to the port, Jiang Xiaoran couldn’t sit still and immediately followed him, saying, ”Uncle, I want to go too!”

”You...” Jiang Chen frowned, about to refuse.

However.

Jiang Xiaoran gripped his sleeve tightly.

Jiang Chen thought about it and figured she would indeed be a bit bored at home alone.

So he said, ”Then stay close to me and don’t run around!”

”Roger that!”

Jiang Xiaoran snapped her legs together and then quickly followed Jiang Chen.

The uncle and niece soon arrived at Zhujiang Port.

Although the seawater hadn’t flooded inland yet, all the dockworkers in this vicinity had already been evacuated.

Many cargo ships and fishing boats were moored nearby, not daring to head out to sea.

At the port’s edge, there were a large number of armed personnel on guard.

”Longke Academy!”

At the entrance, facing the armed personnel blocking the way, Jiang Chen showed his credentials as the person in charge of the Heavenly Soldiers and Generals.

Jiang Xiaoran was surprised, and she whispered secretly to Jiang Chen, ”Uncle, isn’t your job fishing? How did you get into the Longke Academy?”

”Didn’t I tell you last time? I have a part-time job repairing air conditioners and stuff for aircraft carriers,” Jiang Chen replied with a smile.

Jiang Xiaoran looked confused: ”Repairing air conditioners? Which aircraft carrier would need you to repair its air conditioner!”

Aircraft carriers surely have specialized technicians; why would they need a fisherman like Jiang Chen to repair an air conditioner?

Jiang Chen replied solemnly, ”Of course there is. The air conditioner on the Sister Li aircraft carrier breaks down often, so I fix it for her whenever I’m free.”

After several repairs, a little air conditioner was almost born.

Jiang Xiaoran looked skeptical.

However, at that moment, she had already followed Jiang Chen to the edge of the dock.

She suddenly noticed the endless but neatly arranged warships on the sea.

She was instantly stunned.

Right now.

The five major aircraft carrier fleets were spread across the ocean.

The end was nowhere in sight.

By a rough estimate, there were at least a hundred warships within her field of vision.

As for those further back, they were out of sight.

”Holy crap, Uncle, why are there so many warships? Are they all our country’s aircraft carriers?”

This was the first time Jiang Xiaoran had seen so many aircraft carrier fleets arranged uniformly on the sea, and she was immediately struck with awe.

Although she had seen some news about aircraft carrier fleets and new warships being launched on TV and the internet, none of that compared to seeing it with her own eyes.

At this moment, seeing so many warships with her own eyes, uniformly arranged there, she felt as if her eyes were about to explode from the shock.

It was too shocking!

Too majestic!

The sense of wartime pressure was overwhelming.

Jiang Chen explained, ”These are all captured foreign fleets that have been refitted. Our domestically produced aircraft carriers are even stronger, but they are currently guarding the outer oceans.”

The long ming aircraft carrier is in Somalia.

Dragon Soul is in Sakura City.

Dragon God is at the Antarctic Continent.

Sister Li is also in Sri Lanka.

Those currently anchored near Zhujiang Port are all refitted from captured foreign vessels.

Although there are many of them, their combat power is not as high as the domestically produced aircraft carriers.

Especially Sister Li.

The one with the highest combat power currently is Sister Li, which is equipped with a brand-new power system, energy devices, and molecular materials.

Not to mention, there are a large number of Gene Warriors and Mecha Pilots on board.

As well as a commander who carries her own electric current.

”Hiss!”

”And these are just the captured ones.”

Jiang Xiaoran was once again shocked.

These fleets, at the very least, had twenty or so destroyers and cruisers paired together.

Looking at the five major fleets combined, there were over a hundred warships.

Placed in the port’s waters now, the sheer numbers were naturally very intimidating.

But then she thought about how the domestic aircraft carrier fleets were even larger, and Jiang Xiaoran immediately felt a sense of anticipation.

She also wanted to see the scene of the domestic aircraft carrier fleets setting out together.

”I saw in the news, isn’t there also an Aerospace Carrier called the Luan Bird that’s still under construction?”

Jiang Xiaoran asked curiously.

Without realizing it, she had followed Jiang Chen to the entrance of the Pearl River Military Port.

”Yes, if the land is ever submerged in the future, the Luan Bird might be our Noah’s Ark.”

Jiang Chen said.

The two of them entered the military port.

”Wait for me here for a moment, I’ll be right back.”

Jiang Chen instructed Jiang Xiaoran and then walked quickly to a dock in the military port, where Commander Tang was currently leading a group of people to measure the rising seawater.

Jiang Xiaoran watched Jiang Chen leave and only then noticed that this was actually a military port.

Looking at the armed personnel with live ammunition nearby, she silently squatted down, not daring to move.

”Commander Tang, how is the speed of the rising seawater?” Jiang Chen walked up.

Commander Tang turned around, saw Jiang Chen, and said with a frown, ”Jiang Chen, the situation is not optimistic.”

”This seawater has been rising since yesterday, and it has already risen by half a meter.”

”Furthermore, based on some data from the Dragon Soul in Sakura City, the seawater at the port there is rising even more fiercely; it’s already risen by a meter in half a day, and all the coastal residents there have been evacuated.”

Half a meter in half a day?

The depth from the port dock to the sea surface was less than ten meters.

In other words, according to this rate of rise, in five days, the seawater would begin to submerge the docks and flood the city.
