Supreme Sword God

Chapter 249: Chapter 248: War Soul Mountain, Decayed Body

The fragmented space of the ancient battlefield was filled with a fierce and deadly aura.

The world was dark and dim.

Everywhere one looked, there were traces left by great battles, tinged with the breath of ancient times.

Everyone who entered the fragmented space of the ancient battlefield arrived at the foot of a towering mountain.

The peak was bare, its summit unseen at a glance.

At the foot of the mountain.

A number of formidable individuals were guarding it, responsible for maintaining order in the Wind and Cloud Tournament and explaining the rules to everyone.

The format of the Wind and Cloud Tournament was different every time.

Moreover, what the tournament would consist of was never revealed beforehand.

Therefore, everyone who came to participate in the Wind and Cloud Tournament could make no preparations in advance and could only adapt on the spot!

”Why haven’t the people from Tongming Martial Arts Academy arrived yet?” A strong individual frowned, speaking with dissatisfaction.

”Qin Yi from Tongming Martial Arts Academy... was cut in half by a single strike from Ye Chen of Cangxing Martial Arts Academy upon entering the fragmented space of the ancient battlefield. He should still be recovering...” someone in the crowd whispered.

At the mention of this, everyone couldn’t help but recall the previous scene, then looked at Ye Chen... in his white long robe, with a sword on his back, appearing harmless, they couldn’t help but gasp.

So ruthless.

The members of the Emperor Star Martial Arts Academy were stunned, as they were the first to arrive and didn’t know about this incident...

Han Qianshan gave Ye Chen a complex look, raising Ye Chen’s danger level to the highest in his mind!

”Qin Yi? The one from Feiyang Martial Arts Academy? Why did he end up at Tongming Martial Arts Academy?” The person who asked the question earlier also didn’t know about this matter.

Han Qianshan spoke up, explaining the general situation.

After listening.

The strong individuals responsible for maintaining order looked visibly angry.

Ridiculous!

At that moment.

The members of Tongming Martial Arts Academy finally arrived.

Qin Yi looked at Ye Chen, his eyes seemingly about to shoot fire, filled with intense killing intent.

Fatty chuckled and said, ”Yo? You were willing to recover so quickly, looks like you spent a lot, wonder how many times your master will let his dog get chopped up?”

”Yu Hui, shut your stinking mouth, or I’ll tear it apart!” Qin Yi shouted hysterically.

”Silence!” A strong individual shouted at Qin Yi, ”If Tongming Martial Arts Academy causes any more trouble, I’ll disqualify you from the next match!”

These individuals who maintained order valued rules very much, and Tongming Martial Arts Academy taking in Qin Yi and Jiang Shiyin had already upset them greatly.

Qin Yi’s face flushed purple, not daring to speak further.

The other members of Tongming Martial Arts Academy also remained silent.

The strong individual who reprimanded Qin Yi, glared at Fatty.

They all knew that this little Fatty was from the Yu Family of Luofeng Martial Arts Academy, and was certainly good at causing trouble!

Finally, this strong individual looked at Ye Chen with a sigh, seeming gentle, yet causing trouble before even entering the fragmented space of the ancient battlefield, truly a thorny one!

Clearing his throat, the strong individual said, ”Next, I’ll explain the rules, listen carefully, I’ll only say it once!”

”What you are about to compete in is a team race, and the mountain before you is called War Soul Mountain. Your task is to reach the summit.

The first team to reach the summit receives one hundred points, and so on, until one point for the one hundredth team, after the one hundredth, no points are awarded.

The total time must not exceed half an hour, if anyone reaches the summit after half an hour, even within the top one hundred, they receive no points!

If all team members reach the summit within half an hour and are within the top one hundred, they will receive an additional five hundred point bonus.

Most importantly, no one should think about flying up, there are forbidden restrictions on the mountain, trigger them and you bear the consequences, and the martial arts academy you represent will be disqualified!”

The competition method for the team race of the Wind and Cloud Tournament is based on points.

In fact, only academies ranked in the top thirty have five-person teams, those ranked after thirty only have one person participating.

This team race is just for show for those participants.

For academies ranked after thirty, there are other rules to advance to the top thirty, not determined by the Wind and Cloud Tournament.

Although the person explaining the rules didn’t say much else, everyone knew that climbing War Soul Mountain wouldn’t be as simple as just hiking up, there would surely be many obstacles.

”Alright, you all know the rules, so let’s begin now!” Another strong individual said.

With this command to start, the fastest to act wasn’t the Emperor Star Martial Arts Academy, but rather Tongming Martial Arts Academy.

The five from Tongming Martial Arts Academy immediately left without heading directly towards the mountain, opting to change direction, perhaps due to the shadow cast by Ye Chen’s earlier strike on Qin Yi.

They were worried about Ye Chen coming at them with his sword again... that would be troublesome!

It’s not about being unable to win.

Earlier, Qin Yi was unprepared and got hit by a single sword strike from Ye Chen, none of the others from Tongming Martial Arts Academy reacted.

If they were prepared, Tongming Martial Arts Academy was not afraid of Cangxing Martial Arts Academy, after all, they had three Transcendent fighters!

But now, fighting with Cangxing Martial Arts Academy had no meaning!

It was a team race, getting to the summit of War Soul Mountain was the most important, fighting at the foot of the mountain with Cangxing Martial Arts Academy would undoubtedly waste a lot of time.

”Cowards.” Fatty laughed loudly.

Sun Siming turned around, looking at Ye Chen and the others, saying, ”It’s most important that all five of us reach the summit, so I suggest that initially we move together, and when we get close to the summit, whoever can reach it first should go for the rankings!”

This suggestion was undoubtedly the best.

If all five reached within half an hour and made it to the top hundred, the extra five hundred team points were enticing.

”No objections here,” Ye Chen said.

Fatty, Ouyang Xiaoling, and Qu Xiao all nodded.

In fact, other academy teams were doing the same!

Initially ensuring all five team members could reach the summit, then compete for individual rankings.

The team race wasn’t a chance for personal glory.

After the team race ended, the individual competition would begin, then it would be time for individual performances.

Having decided, Ye Chen and the others chose a direction and began climbing.

War Soul Mountain was large, enough to accommodate different teams climbing from different directions.

After the top thirty ranked academy teams departed, others began following at a distance behind these strong teams.

For now, no battles would erupt.

Ye Chen wanted to hack Qin Yi from Tongming Martial Arts Academy again, but they kept their distance, considering the bigger picture, he let it go for now.

After all, as they climbed higher, the mountain would become smaller, and eventually everyone would meet, and the fights would break out!

”Everyone, be cautious, even though it seems there’s no danger now, risk could appear anytime,” Sun Siming urged as he led the group quickly towards the summit.

Just as Sun Siming finished speaking, Ye Chen suddenly called out, ”Be careful!”

With that, Ye Chen’s speed surged, instantly dashing in front of Sun Siming, the Celestial Mark Sword on his back unsheathing swiftly, the sword light illuminating the dark world like a bright ribbon.

In the intense sword light, a decayed figure appeared in the sight of the group.

”Boom!”

Ye Chen’s strike landed on the shoulder of the decayed figure, only pushing it into the mountain, as Ye Chen’s sword got caught on the shoulder bone of the figure!

”Such formidable defense!”

This thought arose simultaneously in everyone’s mind.
