Supreme Sword God

Chapter 233: Chapter 232: Dragon Race Reverse Scale

The cultivating Ye Chen sensed movement around him, immediately ended his cultivation, opened his eyes, and looked at the returning Luo Qingyi. He hurriedly stood up and said, ”Elder Qingyi, what did the senior of the Dragon Race say?”

Luo Qingyi waved her hand, and then a fist-sized ball of light floated in front of Ye Chen.

Inside this ball of light, a lifelike Divine Dragon Illusion was swimming around.

”This is the Dragon Casting Technique, suitable for the Human Race to cultivate. You can give it to your senior brother Yuan Polu. By cultivating this method, he will soon be able to resolve the drawbacks of the Dragon Blood Pill, and his strength will greatly advance.”

Ye Chen quickly grabbed the ball of light in his hand and said, ”Please also convey my gratitude to the senior of the Dragon Race in the tenth level of the Sword Tomb, I will definitely repay this kindness in the future!”

”No need to wait for the future,” Luo Qingyi said indifferently, ”The senior of the Dragon Race asked me to convey a message to you.”

”Please speak, Elder Qingyi.”

”The Great Zhou Royal Family used illicit materials to refine this Dragon Blood Pill, taken from a cursed dragon. You must find that cursed dragon and eliminate it.”

”What is a cursed dragon?” Ye Chen had heard of the Dragon Race, one of the highest beings, but this was the first time he had heard of a cursed dragon.

”A cursed dragon is not part of the true Dragon Race; it is something formed from creatures like snakes or flood dragons but has taken a twisted path, achieving itself through devouring countless beings. The emergence of a cursed dragon signifies a catastrophe, and once a cursed dragon appears, the fortunes of the Dragon Race will also be implicated.

Therefore, the senior of the Dragon Race in the tenth level of the Sword Tomb hopes for your help. If the matter is resolved, the Dragon Race will greatly reward you!”

”...” Ye Chen: ”Is the cursed dragon very powerful?”

”Right now, it should not have transformed into a dragon, equivalent to a Unity Realm level of cultivation. Once it fully transforms, it will be equivalent to the Heaven-Reaching Realm, what you refer to as a legendary level now.

Of course, it cannot be judged by ordinary cultivation realms.

A Unity Realm cursed dragon has combat power similar to that of your martial uncle Liu Mubai, who possesses Heaven-Reaching Realm fighting strength.”

Ye Chen felt an immense pressure immediately!

He could barely deal with his life-and-death enemy Gu Yue, who was at the seventh layer of the Mortal Transformation Realm... And now he was expected to kill a cursed dragon that, although only Unity Realm, had the combat power of the Heaven-Reaching Realm...

Luo Qingyi said, ”I’m not asking you to kill it now, just to find it first. Ye Chen, don’t consider this task as a bargaining chip used by that Dragon Race senior to help your senior brother Yuan Polu...

If you truly manage to deal with that cursed dragon, you will earn the friendship of the Dragon Race, which holds tremendous influence in this world.

Besides... consider it a favor for me as well.

That Dragon Race senior did me a great favor, and also bestowed great kindness to my father. Without his intervention, my father would not have been able to suppress the Demon God’s soul, and to achieve this, he sacrificed his freedom for life.

He need not have intervened.

Because even if the Demon Race ruled the world, it wouldn’t affect the Dragon Race...”

”Understood,” Ye Chen said, ”I will do my utmost!”

Luo Qingyi acknowledged with a nod and said, ”This is from the Dragon Race senior for you.”

With that, her hand produced a palm-sized cyan scale.

Ye Chen received this scale, feeling a metallic coldness and a unique warmth, sensing a fiercely violent aura within the scale!

”A dragon scale?”

”To be precise, it is a dragon’s reverse scale, extremely precious, usually used by the Dragon Race to pass down to descendants for protection. This reverse scale shed during that Dragon Race senior’s Mortal Transformation Realm, and even the strongest Unity Realm martial artist can’t break this scale’s defense with a full-force attack.

You may refine this reverse scale into a part of your body for protection, but you must consider where to place it carefully, as it cannot be changed later.”

Ye Chen felt a surge of excitement in his heart upon hearing this.

Although he had encountered many Heaven-Reaching Realm legendary powerhouses recently, in reality, such beings were rare even in the entire Great Zhou Dynasty and not abound even in the vast land of Cangzhou.

The Unity Realm was the mainstream among top-level powerhouses.

And this dragon’s reverse scale could withstand a full-force attack from the pinnacle Unity Realm powerhouse, which was of great significance.

Where should it be refined into his body?

Ye Chen pondered for a moment.

His Sea of Consciousness contained restrictions set by his tutor, Yang Tianji, so he was not too worried for now.

The heart was vital, but even if the heart was destroyed, as long as a strong Mortal Transformation Realm comes to aid in time, or by using some highly effective pills, one wouldn’t die. Once he advanced to the Mortal Transformation Realm, it would matter little.

The Dantian!

Ye Chen quickly made a decision.

The destruction of the Dantian is not fatal, but it causes the loss of all power, rendering one a waste, a fate worse than death!

Even in the Mortal Transformation Realm, after being blasted apart and reviving with flesh and blood, the Dantian would be re-constructed, albeit with significant loss of power.

Comparing survival with ensuring power.

Ye Chen chose power!

If in a battle, he survives but gets his Dantian pierced, he would lose his power and eventually be killed.

On the other hand, retaining his power gives him a fighting chance to turn the tables, even when severely injured, as long as there’s still a breath in him!

”Refine it into the Dantian!” Ye Chen declared his decision.

Luo Qingyi nodded and said, ”As long as you’ve decided, refine the dragon scale first and then head out and pass the Dragon Casting Technique to your senior brother, without letting him know it’s connected to you. How you manage it is up to you.”

Ye Chen immediately sat down cross-legged, holding the dragon’s reverse scale in both hands, channeling power into it, and then, in an instant, the dragon’s reverse scale transformed into a cyan stream of light, penetrating Ye Chen’s body.

Under Ye Chen’s control, the cyan stream of light moved towards his abdomen, slowly merging with his abdominal flesh.

Meanwhile.

At the Cangxing Martial Arts Academy, in Ouyang Shang’s residence, Yang Tianji and Ouyang Shang sat facing each other.

Yang Tianji did not seek Elder Bai Mei, fully aware that Elder Bai Mei would have no solution for Yuan Polu’s predicament.

”Elder Yang, are you planning another trip to the Capital City?” Ouyang Shang inquired.

He too was aware of Yuan Polu’s situation, seeing that it may require the intervention of the royal family once more.

Yang Tianji shook his head, saying, ”I might visit the Capital City again in the near future, but not because of this matter.”

”Do you have a solution for Yuan Polu’s issue?”

”Yes.” Yang Tianji nodded.

In truth, he had no solution.

But he believed Ye Chen had a way, to be precise, the mysterious will within Ye Chen!

Yang Tianji had noticed that mysterious will, clearly the biggest secret regarding Ye Chen.

He knew about it but chose not to mention it, neither did he wish for anyone else to know. This way, Ye Chen’s safety could be assured.

If Ye Chen truly finds a way to resolve the Dragon Blood Pill issue for Yuan Polu, it would require careful planning, given that this was a strategic trap set by the Royal Family, and Yang Tianji must figure out a way to break it without involving Ye Chen.

This was why he sought out Ouyang Shang.

”What’s your plan?” Ouyang Shang asked, curious.

”Regarding Polu, I once let him bathe in the blood of a flood dragon, which allowed him to ascend to an incomplete Lingwu Unity disposition despite mediocre aptitude. The trouble caused by the Dragon Blood Pill is not as severe as imagined. Acquiring more flood dragon’s blood will avert the crisis.”

Ouyang Shang’s eyes glimmered.

He had interacted with Yuan Polu numerous times.

If Yuan Polu really had bathed in flood dragon’s blood, Ouyang Shang would have noticed.

Clearly.

This was a lie.

Further, Ouyang Shang understood that Yang Tianji crafted this lie not to deceive him but for others, like members of the royal family orchestrating the scheme!

”So, Elder Yang knows of my acquaintance with the Jiao King of the Luoyao Mountain Range and wants me to procure a few barrels of flood dragon essence blood? The scale of the operation should be grand, right?” Ouyang Shang queried.

Yang Tianji nodded. Speaking with someone like Ouyang Shang, a smart individual, made the conversation much smoother.

Ouyang Shang chuckled, fixing his gaze on Yang Tianji, ”Is this related to Ye Chen?”

Yang Tianji replied faintly, ”It is related to the Cangxing Martial Arts Academy.”

In Ouyang Shang’s mind, he had found the answer.

Whether Yuan Polu or Ye Chen, they both belonged to the Cangxing Martial Arts Academy.

Their matters indeed correlated to the Cangxing Martial Arts Academy.

And Ouyang Shang, as the headmaster of the Cangxing Martial Arts Academy, regarded the academy’s affairs as his personal responsibility!
