Martial Arts: I Have Diligence Reward System

Chapter 480: Chapter 190: Su Yue’s Balls in a Twist

Dongdu City.

One week ago, the passenger volume at Dongdu City’s station started to surge.

The end-of-term event at Wuda, the inter-school competition, is a moderately significant event in the Divine Land.

Youth represents the future, youth represents hope.

Not only the Ministry of Education and the Military Department but various sectors across the Divine Land also show great interest in the inter-school competition.

After all, every graduating class of Wuda students brings a wave of talent entering society.

Whether it’s the Military Department, the Governor’s Mansions of various provinces, or various departments of the Divine Land, they all are eager for talented individuals.

For the president of Wuda, the ranking of the competition is of utmost importance as it affects the allocation of resources from the Ministry of Education.

After all, it affects the welfare of all tutors, the ranking of prestigious schools, the infrastructure development, and rewards for students.

However, to others, the inter-school competition is essentially a straightforward talent selection contest.

This is why each martial arts school sends both their main and reserve teams to participate.

In the knockout rounds, the four major Martial Arts Academies will compete with their reserve teams.

In the quarter-finals ranking matches, the main teams will be deployed, allowing both senior graduates and junior students to gain early attention.

And the main competitors in the inter-school competition are third-year students.

In case they show great potential, various corps and the Governor’s Mansions may offer you a lucrative salary to intern early or even train you as a manager.

Don’t underestimate this short ahead-of-schedule year.

When your classmates are graduating and attending interviews with various units, you might already be the interviewer.

Of course, some individuals do not care about gaining fame in advance.

Such as Meng Yang.

Such as Mu Cheng, Bai Xiaolong, and even the heads of the student unions of various Wuda, do not care much.

They are already on the recruitment lists of various corps, Governor’s Mansions, or departments in the Divine Land.

The reason these people are still fighting hard is entirely due to their sentiment for their alma mater.

Sentiment for one’s alma mater is strong among the Divine Land’s people.

Even after graduation, they might occasionally curse their alma mater.

But such things can only be criticized by oneself.

If others also scold one’s alma mater, it could likely cause a knife-wielding incident; in the Divine Land, not discussing others’ alma maters is the basic etiquette.

Even graduates from Category B Wuda generally won’t allow others to casually comment on their alma mater.

Moreover, Wuda graduates form factions.

For example, in the Yan Gui Corps, the highest-ranking officer belongs to the West Martial Sect.

No wonder.

The strength of the West District Military Department generally graduates from West Martial, and these students have a high probability of reaching the fourth or fifth grade.

And Category A and B Wuda from other provinces in the West District will also form factions centered around their alma mater.

These students will also be distributed among various Governor’s Mansions or departments under the Cabinet.

Once classmates, they form a bond.

Just like Wang Nanguo in the past.

The batch from Category A Wuda mostly went to the Investigation and Arrest Bureau, so no matter which city Wang Nanguo goes to, he can always find one or two familiar classmates in the Investigation and Arrest Bureau.

That’s the power of alumni networks.

The inter-school competition is about selecting the top echelon.

In reality, for Category A and B Wuda, their wins or losses are important, but for the students, it’s not that crucial.

Even in past Wuda competitions, there were losers that garnered a lot of attention.

After all, it’s a three-on-three match, and it’s difficult for one student to save the day.

As much as possible, everyone wants to improve their Wuda’s ranking.

But if it’s really not possible, students can only treat the competition as their personal showcase.

As for the vast majority who cannot compete, they can only treat the inter-school competition as a spectator event.

The excellent are always a minority.

In the Divine Land, there are many Wuda, each with tens of thousands of students, but each participating Wuda only has three main team members and a few substitute team members, totaling no more than ten people.

Mind you, even substitutes must meet a minimum requirement of the third grade.

Yet even in the four major Martial Arts Academies, many fourth-year students are only third grade.

Fourth-year and third grade.

No qualifications to join the substitutes, as they’ve already been surpassed by sophomores and juniors.

It’s said that this year, several Wuda will field freshmen who are third grade, which is downright astonishing.

...

Tomorrow is the date for the knockout rounds.

Tonight in Dongdu City, it can be described as brightly lit, with all hotels fully booked.

To accommodate the countless spectators coming and going, Dongdu City has even transformed a large newly renovated residential area into accommodations for participants from various schools, and their faculty.

As for students who are not competing but wish to watch the matches at the stadium, they can only stay in regular hotels or guesthouses.

The week-long event will keep the host city bustling for a full week.

As for this residential area awaiting sale, not only will it not be disliked for being lived in but will instead become a coveted asset.

After all, the young talents residing inside are the top prodigies of the Divine Land.

Property owners who buy these apartments will believe they are imbued with an aura of excellence.

While the Divine Land’s people don’t have overly radical beliefs, they hold on to these harmless superstitions with some persistence.

The Wu da coming to Dongdu City for the competition is already poised and ready.
