Chapter 136: 136. The Trouble with Alia Going Home

Just like the statue of the Lady of the Lake at the altar standing in Dark Water Village.

Waves in a supernatural form embraced and lifted the Lady of the Lake, along with Alia in her arms, appearing before Lann.

The little girl now had a look of surprise and excitement on her face, jumping out from the lady’s embrace, bouncing to Lann’s side.

”Sir! Did you defeat the Evil God? That’s amazing! What does that Evil God look like? Can I see?”

Lann did not answer, but instead looked at the Lady of the Lake on the waves with a questioning gaze.

”Yes, Lann.” The lady brushed her lush green long hair aside, ensuring it did not obscure her beautiful body.

”At the moment of your success, we cleared away those remnants. As I told you, leaving those things in the world is an outcome no life would wish to see.”

”And now, I am about to transfer the link of that celestial sphere convergence rift to another world.”

”Can’t it just be closed?”

Lann tilted his head and asked.

”Impossible.” The lady answered straightforwardly. ”This is a rift formed spontaneously by Chaos Magic Power, its nature completely different from those artificial portals. Even for me, plus Gant Odim whom you know, we can’t defy the great tide of Chaos Magic Power.”

Lann nodded, as this was still beyond his current understanding.

Just follow the lady’s arrangements.

The Lady of the Lake is a conceptual deity born from virtues; if she violated virtues, it would be akin to killing herself.

Her pale green finger gently lifted towards the depths of Vizima Lake, and a rift appeared from the water, like shattered glass.

It was a strange sensation, and when the side of the rift was facing Lann, he had Mentos measure its thickness.

But in the measurement records, not even a pixel point could be marked.

That was ”zero thickness” in the conceptual sense.

The lady did not show the front of the rift to Lann or Alia.

Lann understood this action.

If Da Gun hadn’t already been besieged in the deeper world, then it wouldn’t be so vulnerable on the material interface.

And even being this vulnerable, Lann did not doubt that it could destroy a city like Vizima head-on, or simply obliterate a nation.

It would gain insanity equivalent to a city just by making a round outside.

And it’s said there’s a sect leader above Da Gun... Lann didn’t want to see a world with such existences in person.

After waiting for a little while, the lady finally turned the rift towards the two of them.

The shattered glass-like celestial sphere convergence rift was drawn by the lady’s power, landing precisely at the center of Da Gun Temple.

Like taking a seat, it stood firmly.

Lann and Alia understood that, according to Belengar’s explained experience, this should mean Alia’s world had already pushed Da Gun’s world away from the link of the celestial sphere convergence rift.

And now, it’s time for the little girl to go home.

Alia first glanced up at Lann, then at the rift.

There was reluctance in her eyes, but also anticipation.

”Can’t I leave in a few days? That thing looks pretty stable sitting there...”

”The current chaotic magic power turbulence is small, just allowing ordinary people to pass. And if left for a few more days, even without considering the turbulence, what if the link of the celestial sphere convergence shifts again?”

The Lady of the Lake said calmly.

”Alia Stark, Blood of the Running Wolf. This is the time for you to go home.”

The little girl pouted, ”Alright then.”

Then she turned to look at Lann, seeing him nodding at her as well.

Only then did she tighten her little bundle and the ’Needle’ at her waist, moving her feet toward the rift.

Lann also felt a bit melancholy, but he thought that being a young daughter of a great noble family in a medieval world without magic, living beside her family, was always better than wandering in another world.

Judging from Alia’s father’s title, she would live a safe and fulfilling life...

”Miss Stark... Alia Stark! Where are you? ... Damn little wolf! ... Let the Starks eat shit.”

Before Lann could finish his musing like an old mother, distant and chaotic sounds came from the rift.

The Demon Hunter’s hearing clearly caught the content.

At first, it sounded like someone looking for someone, but then it turned into curses and the sound of a longsword chopping at bushes.

This commotion didn’t sound like someone looking for someone in good spirits.

Just a second before Alia carefully stepped into the rift, Lann directly pulled the collar of the little girl and yanked her back.

”Did you cause trouble over there?”

Of course, Alia hadn’t heard the voices on the other side of the rift, so Lann’s question first made her freeze for a moment, then she thought slightly and widened her eyes, a panicked expression appearing on her face.

”I-I hit Geoffrey with a stick before I came over!”

Lann sharply sensed the crux of the issue.

In many cases, hitting a person was not important, especially when the one hitting was a little girl like Alia, who wasn’t even 1.4 meters tall.

But who you hit was very important!

”Who is Geoffrey?”

”He... he is the Prince of the whole of Westeros!”

The little girl answered, shrinking back as Lann lifted her up.

Lann’s mouth slightly opened, and a while later, his studded leather-gloved hand slapped onto his forehead.

...I cut down a Count, and you hit a Prince, huh?

You little one have way more skill than I do!

He opened his mouth towards the little girl but ultimately said nothing.

Then he turned his gaze to the smiling lady watching the spectacle.

”Honored lady, you...”

”You can go with her, Lann.”

The lady spoke with interest.

”She would certainly face no small trouble going back alone. A person possessing the five knightly virtues could not, and would not, stand idly by.”

”The great tide of Chaos Magic Power is vast and enduring. In my expectation, this rift will exist for a long time, and you can return the way you came once the turbulence subsides.”

The Lady’s words allowed Lann to breathe a sigh of relief. He definitely intended to look after Alia, and if he could return the way he came, all the better.

”But before that...”

As Lann was about to step into the rift, the lady pointed to the high-grade Bear School silver sword on his back.

”Hand it over to me for destruction. You touched Da Gun with that blade. You wouldn’t want Alia’s world to turn into a madhouse with madmen everywhere, would you?”

Lann hadn’t noted this concern before, so he immediately laid the silver sword along with its scabbard on the ground with apprehension.

He had no particular attachment to the silver sword, but he did regret losing the scabbard a bit.

Although the silver sword was more valuable, the scabbard was a gift from Bernie, and he cherished it more in his heart.

The lady seemed to misunderstand this regret.

Her finger lifted gently, and a longsword with ornate runes inscribed on the blade rose from the depths of the water.

”As compensation and a reward, Lann of Sintra, bearer of the five knightly virtues...”

”Please accept this Sword of Knightly Virtues—Aron Dite.”

Seeing the celestial sphere convergence rift growing increasingly blurry, Lann solemnly accepted the Lady of the Lake’s Sword and the accompanying scabbard, strapping it onto his back.

After saluting the lady, he hoisted Alia and dashed into the rift.

Alia’s joyful and exhilarating ”Woohoo” still lingered in this world, but their bodies had already crossed the distance between worlds.

The lady watched this scene happily.

Honor, wisdom, generosity, courage, and compassion

Lann, who ventured into another world for a little girl, undoubtedly embodied these five knightly virtues.

And anyone who practiced these virtues brought joy to the lady.

The nymph acting as a messenger emerged from the water, somewhat regretfully looking at the rift.

”I felt I almost had him in bed,” she said.

The lady hugged the nymph from behind, chuckling softly as they whispered intimately.

”Then perhaps a few months later, we can pin him down together.”
