Chapter 132: 132. Blood Gemstone of the Lady of the Lake

Early the next morning, besides converting all the alchemy materials he had into products, Lann did not make any additional preparations.

Instead, he sat in the tavern with Belengar, playing the currently popular card game.

His combat strength remained in perfect condition most of the time, and all the preparations that could be made had been done, looking back and forth was not in his nature.

”Alia is packing her stuff. Though I don’t really know what she has to pack.”

Belengar tossed in a ballista card, as he spoke.

Lann threw out a griffin card, his expression calm.

”Children always get sentimental about farewells. But I am clear-headed, we have only been friends for less than a month, it’s better for her to go home.”

”Yes, going home. Nothing is more comforting than that word.”

Belengar sighed.

Lann, upon hearing Belengar’s theory last night, had a moment where he thought, why couldn’t he take this opportunity to go home too?

But soon, he sobered up.

If he could go home, the Lady of the Lake wouldn’t need to seek a little girl to ascend Black Seagull Island.

Since arriving in this world, he had experienced biological mind integration, demon hunter mutation, and interstellar warrior gene seed implantation.

Claiming to be a normal human from the homeland world was something even he didn’t believe.

Even if it only meant getting Alia out of this dangerous world, that was fortunate enough.

Although her original world’s civilization level wasn’t high, at least it had no magic nor monsters.

As the youngest daughter of a top-ranking noble, she should be able to live a stable and prosperous life.

The card game made time fly by, truly a good way to kill time, no wonder its fame has spread across the continent.

The night was waiting at the horizon, about to sweep across the sky.

This was the agreed time.

”Really no need for help?”

Belengar threw down the cards in his hand, looking up and asking.

Lann looked at the lousy cards Belengar had thrown down, expressionlessly swept a few Oren coins on the table into his hand.

This made the corner of the old demon hunter’s mouth twitch uncontrollably.

He knew Lann didn’t care about those small gains at all, he just wanted to declare his victory in the card game.

...What a nasty cub!

”Fighting enemies who can taint the mind, if the help is not top-notch, it’s better not to come.”

Confronted with Lann’s disdain, Belengar’s mouth twitched even more.

”Let’s go.”

Having gathered the golden Oren coins, at that moment Alia came out of the tavern room with a small bundle on her back.

That exquisite yet small rapier was strapped at her waist.

Lann looked her up and down, noticing the little girl had adjusted her emotions fairly well.

A lively and active personality often correlates with strength, this was Alia’s merit.

The two of them, while the daylight had not entirely faded, went to the small pier in the village, rented a fishing boat, and headed for the nearby Black Seagull Island.

Perhaps it was because the Lady of the Lake had started deploying her arrangements.

Normally at this time, the surface of Vizima Lake was dull, but not to the point of inspiring dread.

But today, even the mist wafting across the lake seemed to veil a deep-seated malice.

Making one’s heart chill, and bones shiver.

”Close your eyes, Alia. It’ll feel a lot better if you close them.”

Alia’s trembling hand clung tightly to the hem of the cotton armor beneath Lann’s Lann Armor.

Returning to Black Seagull Island once more, compared to the initial arrival, Lann felt that the inexplicable sense of aversion towards the environment within him had grown stronger.

But after several days of purging the Fallen Half-Fishmen, his mental resilience had significantly improved.

By the time they reached Black Seagull Island, the sky had turned to a vibrant fiery red dusk.

Not daring to let Alia open her eyes, Lann led the little girl all the way to the pool on the island the Lady of the Lake resided.

The Nymph was already sitting by the pool, and the Lady of the Lake stood still with her eyes closed at the center of the pool.

”Alia Stark, Blood of the Running Wolf.”

The Lady of the Lake, with her eyes closed, spoke in a chanting tone.

”You may open your eyes, stay here. I will protect your soul.”

Lann patted Alia’s shoulder, and the little girl hesitantly opened her eyes.

Then screamed with a flushed face.

She had expected to see a deity similar to the Old Gods or Seven Gods she believed in back in her home world, with either a benevolent or majestic visage.

But the Lady of the Lake and Miss Nymph left the biggest impression of having an unreserved good figure.

The Nymph took Alia’s hand, while the lady stretched her palm forward.

”Lann of Sintra, you undoubtedly possess the five virtues of a knight, and today, you shall battle the Evil God because of it.”

Like having an epiphany, Lann stepped forward, and lifted his palm upwards beneath the Lady of the Lake’s palm.

”I shall grant you my precious blood, this blood shall summon Da Gun, as well as bind Da Gun.”

No sooner had she finished speaking, a strikingly crimson drop of blood descended from the lady’s alabaster fingertip.

Initially appearing as liquid, but once it landed in Lann’s palm, it morphed into a radiant Blood Gemstone.

As if completing a ritual, the solemn and sacred atmosphere around the Lady of the Lake crumbled at the moment the Blood Gemstone dropped.

She leisurely walked across the water’s surface, came to the edge of the pool, affectionately hugging the Nymph and Alia.

”All of Da Gun’s tentacles rooted in the deep layers of the world have been cleared by us, obtaining my blood, to gain the power of ’the lake’ in this world is its only way out. It has no wisdom, so it will certainly be attracted to this blood.”

Lann clenched the gemstone, ”From what you previously said, I only need to deal with its physical form in the material world.”

”Correct, it is the anchor point formed by its power through the confluence of celestial spheres, merging with the Fallen Half-Fishmen’s faith. Destroying it, and the expulsion will be complete.”

”Lann, we have completed all the preparatory work, the rest... we leave to you.”

”Go to the other side of Black Seagull Island, there is a Da Gun Altar there, place my blood into the altar, and it will definitely come.”

Lann nodded, smiling at Alia.

”You wait here.”

Clasping the Blood Gemstone, he turned and walked towards the altar of Da Gun.

”Mentos, prepare to enhance the precision of mental defense record to its peak. Although it’s just an Evil God’s material entity, I don’t think that thing will be easy to look at or easy to deal with.”

”Understood, sir. I have optimized the algorithm structure of the mental defense record, I will elevate the precision of the cover to pixel-level, while simultaneously syncing the change speed of the cover range with your visual nerve response speed.”

On the path ahead, it seemed the night descended faster than ever before.

Lann scanned around while walking, ensuring the optimized mental defense record was effective enough.

Before long, he had traversed Black Seagull Island.
