Blood Awakening: The Strongest Hybrid and His Vampire Bride

Chapter 643: The Bloody Sands

In the dark, rarely used backstreets of Al’Qutar, broken crates, bins and rubbish spread across the golden sands now stained dark red with blood. A beautiful woman with a sharp facial structure, her eyes narrow, a defined chin and cheekbones, along with a small oval head, wiped a pair of thin daggers with a blue blade clean.

’Tonight I can finally see him again~’

The thought of meeting Nikolai after their last meeting in the hospital, and what she told him, created a sudden surge in her heartbeat. To avert her attention, she lifted her silky blonde hair, now shorter, with the back folded in an elegant clip.

”Will he notice?”

As the constant throbbing heat grew in Sarah’s abdomen, she bit her glossy lips to control the bestial urges within. She turned to the thralls, watching them deal with the warriors sent by the Balthazar clan after the huge fight in the afternoon.

”Have they all been taken care of?”

The leading white-haired thrall immediately nodded, ”Boss, all warriors are dead, even the ones watching the master’s palace!”

”Good work, Tanya. What do you want as a bonus?”

Sarah stroked the short girl’s hair with a warm smile, unlike the cold or fake smile she used when dealing with others. The short thrall narrowed her eyes like a cat, rubbing against the palm of Sarah.

”Ehehe, fresh blood from master!”

”You girls! Why do you never ask for normal things? Don’t think I don’t know what you all do after drinking his blood. Tsk!”

She pretended to scold Tanya, but nodded and curled her silky locks around her fingers. ”Don’t do anything too dangerous. Once things settle down, I’ll introduce you to Master formally, okay?”

”Mhm!”

”Tell your sisters, the same applies to them; he would just glance over you all, but it seems Master has changed and wants to support you more.”

A black-haired thrall who peeked at the pair suddenly spoke out, ”Really?!”

”Mia can’t help but eavesdrop on us... huh?”

The eastern woman with a traditional blunt bangs and sidelocks cut a little more flesh on her thighs and hips, suddenly covered her face, pretending to be shy.

”A-Ah~ forgive me, boss, I’m sorry, boss!”

”I know you’re faking it! Well, it’s true, but don’t rush. Don’t forget our reason for coming here wasn’t just to flirt with Master; there are a lot of enemies here, and there isn’t any backup. The maids have already gone home.”

”Eh, but what about those two?”

Mia, however, pointed to the side, where a blonde maid stood holding a black pipe. Clara wore the shadow guard uniform with her two curved daggers.

She adored the thralls dearly after searching for them, then training and supporting their changes and growth for almost a year. Sarah sighed, glancing at the petite yet muscular maid who showed an obsessive interest in Nikolai and Clara, to whom she teased with a bag of skewers.

”Forget them, one is going to be our Master’s bodyguard, the other is one of his newest wives and very important. Our job is to protect the little fairy, along with helping Master’s plan go ahead.”

”Yes, Ma’am!”

The girls all straightened themselves up and saluted Sarah.

”Don’t copy those battle-obsessed maids.”

”Yes, Boss!”

”Yes, Big Sis!”

Sarah shook her head at their playful temperaments and turned away, watching the large palace only a few hundred metres away.

”Haa... was sending them to the Fenrir clan a mistake? Eh, Master?!” Her pupils shrank as she saw Nikolai in one of the huge windows. He was holding a glass of wine and wearing a white robe with a gold trim.

*Gulp*

’His hair is still wet... has he just taken a shower?’

She held her chest, able to feel a subtle ache from her pounding heart.

Unable to remove her gaze, she focused her aura, drawing it from her muscles, bones and limbs and pumping it into her eyes. A faint heat grew behind her eyes as the image reflected became more detailed, zooming in as if using a 4x scope.

Warm blood leaked from her nose as veins swelled along her temples.

’He’s naked underneath~ ah... It’s not the first time I’ve seen him, but I really want to taste.’

Sarah continued to watch him, a fangirl’s filter ignored his arrogant expression as he swilled the wine in the window while leaning against the stone balcony wall.

’I want it.’

The raw sight of such a deadly weapon drove a woman over the edge. She’d spent a decade after leaving school to study further, working nonstop and sacrificing her life to care for her mother.

”Heh!?”

Her blood pumped faster, and she struggled to breathe properly as Nikolai seemed to have met her gaze and smiled.

’Impossible, it was just my imagination.’

She couldn’t believe it.

How would he know to look here, in this dark, dirty alleyway filled with the stench of blood and waste? Like the thralls, maybe she was also becoming too loose after confessing her feelings to Nikolai and not receiving a rejection.

’I can keep believing, right?’

”Forget it.”

Sarah calmed herself with several long, deep breaths.

But curiosity was something difficult to put down once acknowledged, and so she filled her vision with her hybrid powers. A weaker version of Nikolai’s Obsidian Tide, her purple capillaries shimmered along the surface of her eyes.

’It wasn’t my imagination...’

Blood dripped from her nose, but this time it wasn’t from straining herself.

In the focus of her vision, Nikolai slowly fastened his robe and picked up the glass of wine again. He then winked at Sarah and beckoned for her to come to him. With a simple gesture, her mind turned blank, and she staggered.

It was as if her world turned upside down.

What she saw was nothing compared to the thing she expected.

’H-Huge...’

”Focus, focus, focus!”

Pah!

After slapping her cheeks with both hands, leaving red marks, Sarah turned back to the other thralls. ”Okay, let’s hurry and test the new chemical powder created by Sasha, if this can clean the blood and filth... she promised to work on a civilian-grade version.”

This announcement, along with the small balls filled with green powder, brought a sense of delight to the thralls.

Not only did they come from horrible backgrounds, but their families didn’t know anything about their jobs or lives. But that didn’t mean they stopped caring about the lives their families led. This project was something that Sarah and the thralls themselves put forward to Sasha, who took up a new role after reviving Elizabeth.

Sasha became the head of research and development for Volkov.

Nikolai, who was overjoyed at the idea, gave her a massive budget and asked for priority on things that would enrich the lives of his people, including humans.

Mia held the orb with sparkling red eyes. ”Can this really dissolve and erase all bacteria and dirt?” She then glanced at the corpse beneath her and tossed it like a baseball.

POP!

With a sharp bang and pop, the orb exploded, covering three mertes in each direction in a blanket of green and blue powder.

Sssssss~

Immediately, the body began to dissolve.

First the skin, then the eyes, organs and muscle tissue, with a short delay, even tendons and bones vanished.

”Holy shit.”

Mia stood looking at the two orbs in her palm, suddenly fearful of breaking them by accident and melting her hand. The once bloody, dirty sand in front of her became spotless, no dirt, no blood or waste.

Even the sand appeared to become shinier and golden.

Suddenly, Mia shuddered on the spot.

”I shouldn’t have insulted her before! Scientists are scary!”

Meanwhile, on the balcony, Nikolai shook his head, glancing over the horizon and thinking about countless things with this quiet moment to himself.

’Zara, are you stressed, or feeling comfortable? I hope that you can find your place among those girls. They will help you decide and choose what you want in the future. I don’t want to be the one to force your path.’

”I can trust Kumiko and Amphitrite.”

With another glance at the small alleyway where he had noticed Sarah’s bloodshot eyes a few moments before, and where she had flashed her, it was now empty—no traces of movement, or the faint aura of blood.

”Now I see why my brother-in-law complimented you girls so much.” Nikolai sat on the small marble seat, the cold surface sending a tingling chill up his spine the moment his bare skin touched it. ”But I didn’t ask you, girls, to put yourselves in danger! Sarah... I might just have to punish you tonight.”

He wondered if she would notice his call and would arrive soon.

’Ugh... my head is a little hazy.’

When he leaned against the stone pillar, his left knee lifted and right leg stretched out, a sudden realisation came to him as he swilled the half-empty bottle of wine.

”This stuff... it can get supernaturals drunk...”

However, as he was about to calm himself and use his evil god’s blood to remove the slight intoxication, a soft knock sounded on the door.

With a wicked grin on his lips, Nikolai stopped and turned to the door.

”Did she really come?”
