Blood Awakening: The Strongest Hybrid and His Vampire Bride

Chapter 641: The Power of Nikolai’s Actions

”Don’t Move.”

Just as Clara prepared to fight back against the multiple Balthazarian guards, a woman’s calm, deep voice boomed through the plaza. She peered towards the noise, and her heart fluttered with a lightness that quickly spread through her body.

With a moment’s break, she took a deep breath to regulate her breathing.

A mass of fifteen werewolves in maid uniforms stood at the portal, each one armed with a metre-long sword with a thick blade.

Clara thought they resembled oversized machetes, but without the curve.

”Who are you, women?”

”Pah! Piss off, you filthy hounds!”

”...Interesting, that’s the emblem of Vokov, are you dogs of that kid?”

The leading woman was tall, blonde and carried a similar atmosphere to Leona. A badge on her swollen chest read the name, Brunhilde.

However, unlike the elegant and well-defined speech of Leona, this girl’s voice was crass, filthy and aggressive.

”Hah, you ugly lizards dare to call my master a kid? Don’t fuck with me, limp dick.”

Before the captain could lead the guards, she raised her blade and cocked her head to the side with a wild grin. ”Ladies, hunt those filthy lizards. Put their heads on a platter for our beloved master!”

”Yes, Ma’am!”

”Tsk! Cut the ma’am shit, call me sister!”

”Yes, Ma’am!”

The maids ignored her orders, causing the blonde beauty to spit on the floor and point her sword at the captain. He was blue, with several scars on his face and chest, with a height close to Nikolai’s, reaching almost 6ft 6”, but his build was inferior.

”Oi, fucker look what you did! Now these women won’t listen to me; you’ve challenged my authority.”

’Captain Brunhilde?!’

Even Clara’s eyes widened as the golden werewolf flung herself off the plaza stage, and like a rotating top, spun with her blade, cleaving the wind with a violent howl. ’No, that’s her howling like a wild beast...’ Clara corrected herself.

With a flash of light, Brunhilde unleashed a devastating attack; she effortlessly cut through three Djinn who tried to avoid her blow, only to be dragged closer due to the immense suction force of her whirlwind strike.

”Urgh!”

”Agh, my arm.”

Blood sprayed into the air before falling like rain, coating the wild werewolf. Brunhilde ignored the mess with vibrant green eyes shining through the mist as she bounced with each step, building momentum.

”Come on, big guy, are you all size and no force?”

”Y-You little...”

First, it was the midget insulting him as impotent, now this blonde werewolf accused him of having a small cock. The captain’s forehead bulged with veins as he clenched his jaw, bringing his curved two-hander into the air.

”Little bitch, don’t bark so much. We put dogs into curry here!”

”Kyahahaha! This is good, good! Let’s fight!”

Brunhilde shot at the captain, her blade like a green whip dancing through the air as her overly long arms bent and twisted without a conventional style. While the captain moved with discipline, his blade still, eyes focused on her body’s movements.

He waited for her strike, without blinking.

While she carried no sense of worry, she launched an attack.

She slashed upward, the arc of her blade creating a beautiful green trail from his left thigh across to his right shoulder.

Clang!

Their blades met.

Brunhilde’s blade flung back in an elegant arc, from his right shoulder down to her right leg, making her twirl counterclockwise. The captain’s blade drove down, cutting through her attack with ease as he followed up.

He lifted the blade to his shoulder, then thrust.

”Captain Brunhilde!” Clara shouted.

After training with the maids in the morning, she might not know this side of Brunhild well, but the maids helped her become stronger, and she wouldn’t forget that.

However, Brunhilde, mid-twirl with her back to the enemy, peeked at her with a grin. ”Don’t worry, little fairy. Hehe.”

Slash!

As her blade swung back, so did Brunhilde; she stepped forward with her left leg, allowing her to add more force to the counter spin. The captain’s blade tore through the air, inches from Brunhilde’s face, when her hips suddenly snapped, and from the right of his face, her blade clashed with his.

”Hrrk...”

The captain staggered back with blood dripping from his cheek. The moment he struck her blade, it instantly doubled in speed, knocking his sword off target, missing her cheek by an inch, while the tip of her sword cut through his.

”Isn’t it fun?”

Brunhilde rested her blade on her shoulder, while still bouncing slightly, her feet and hips never stopped moving, always twisting or shifting, ready to attack from multiple angles.

”I am Brunhilde. Newly crowned captain of the Delta Maid Unit, who specialises in combat.”

This time, there was a more polite and elegant hint to her tone; she glanced at the Djinn with a sharper yet with a touch of admiration.

Opposite her, the captain snorted blood from his nose and gripped his sword tightly once again.

”Heh, not bad. I am Volkan. One of His Majesty, the true King’s Ten Warriors!”

”Hmph.”

The two huffed before setting up their guards.

Clara, meanwhile, took her eyes off the fight and watched in awe as the other werewolves destroyed the Djinn in seconds. Their blades lacked any hesitation as all fifteen of them stood with their hands clamped behind their backs, forming a circle around Brunhilde and Captain Volkan.

’Amazing, I have to have her teach me!’

Her eyes sparkled the more she watched the beautiful and yet violent style of Brunhilde. She used a single blade, yet turned into a destructive force when in battle.

Brunhilde and Volkan’s swords clashed a dozen times, with his well-timed and orthodox style, aiming for openings, which should have given victory quickly because Brunhilde was a mass of openings.

Clang!

After another ten strikes, sweat oozed down both fighters’ cheeks, but unlike the calm Brunhilde, Volkan started panting. His heavy sword took a lot of force to swing, and keeping up with her rapid strikes, empowered by mobility and natural force, he began to slow.

Opposite him, Brunhilde’s uniform had dozens of cuts, tears and blood leaked from various cuts on her body.

”Phew, you’re really strong, old man!”

Yet she didn’t seem phased.

The more he wounded her, the faster and more aggressive she became.

”Y-You... why do you recklessly injure yourself?!” He couldn’t help but ask.

”Hmmm... because I love fighting, but if I get too wounded, then I’ll use it to threaten our master and have him make me one of his concubines!”

Meanwhile, a maid stood beside Clara with neat black hair down to her cheeks, suddenly covering her face, ”Damn it, Brunhilde. Are you fucking insane? His wife is literally standing here; this isn’t practice where you can joke like that.”

Another werewolf from their unit chuckled, ”Vice-Captain, don’t play around like that. You know she’s dead serious.”

”True, true. That fool is our Master’s fangirl.”

The black-haired maid noticed Clara’s inquisitive glance, then covered her face, muttering curse words in R-Dialect as she sighed and removed her hand. ”Mistress Clara, please forgive these idiots if they’ve caused offence.”

Clara spent the past few minutes watching the Delta maid unit and found herself inspired; a sudden sparkle grew in her chest as she shook her head violently.

”No! I know my husband is amazing. So I won’t judge or punish you. But instead...”

The maid’s heart pounded, racing faster after hearing the drawn-out ending of Clara’s words, unable to guess what she might ask of them.

”Fall!”

As their conversation reached the peak, so did the battle between Brunhilde and Volkan, with the Djinn drawing another sword, holding both with his extra arms, able to strike at the werewolf while at a distance, using his floating arms.

Deep gashes grew in number with each exchange as his blade sliced across Brunhilde’s right eye, catching her cheek with a vertical slash, the other blade missing her throat by a few inches.

Brunhilde stood with her arms lowered, blood pouring down one side of her face as she held her sword with a single hand.

”Ha...hahahaha!”

”Oh no, the captain’s mad.”

”Really?” Clara asked the maid.

”Yeah, she normally has fun fighting like a fool, but when serious, even our boss struggles with her sudden change.”

”You mean Sister Leona?”

”Mhm, the two apparently share some kind of heritage.” She paused then as Brunhilde’s muscles started bulging, and transforming, she continued.

”They come from the R-federation, but having blood from another land in their veins, both of them were ostracised.”

Clara watched intently, listening to the maids speak about Leona and Brunhilde, both apparently good friends and rivals. With this blonde now seeking to steal Nikolai from Leona, though most thought it was only jokingly.

The black-haired maid, Crysta, was adamant that Brunhilde was serious.

Brunhilde’s height changed first, growing taller than the male Djinn fighting her. Then her muscles bulged to an inhumane size, before twisting and condensing down to a more athletic and lean size, but the definition and explosive impact visually increased.

”You see, when I was younger,” Brunhilde spoke with a feral tone. ”I always envied those who could transform, adopted by good families, loved, cared for... but the most I could do was summon a single claw.”

”What are you drivelling on about now, woman?” Volkan held his blades, confused at her sudden speech, halting his attack.

”Kekeke, well, thanks to my supposed inferior blood, I’ve suffered greatly because of ’elites’ like you, so much that it sickens me! But then, we met the master. A glorious, powerful, handsome and amazing werewolf... with his power, the world he gave us was like a god granting our most desperate dreams, and no one can deny it!”

”Hmmm, is the princess’s husband that kind of man? He didn’t seem that impressive, after all, she was shot and supposedly died! Haha!”

Crack!

The atmosphere around Clara shattered.

”Hueh?!”

Clara’s voice echoed as she watched the pristine white teeth in Brunhilde’s mouth shatter into fragments and fall to the ground.

”W-What’s that? Why did her teeth break?!”

But similar changes occurred in the entire maid unit as they all began growling, their faces once kind twisted into aggressive and

”Ahhh, he’s fucked.” A werewolf maid muttered.

”Yep, what a fool. Kill him!”

”Even Leona would run or surrender now. But there’s no way this lizard is getting away!”

Clara glanced at the black-haired maid, but also found she was feral like the others, her calm face twisted in an intense anger, her teeth grinding as she clenched her jaw and growled the same words slowly. ”How dare you!”

’I see, just like we love Nikolai, these women have all been saved by him in various ways...’

She looked back at the transformed Brunhilde, wanting to view everything.

”You dare insult our beloved master, you’re so dead!”
