Blood Awakening: The Strongest Hybrid and His Vampire Bride

Chapter 640: Fight or Flight!

”The fuc...?! Agh!”

Clara’s daggers tore into the guard’s throat as she swung down with a twist. Her silver blades flickered after a whirling dance. Blood sprayed around her in a messy arc, staining the floor as the guard fell.

”What the hell did you do!?” The second guard snapped out of his shock, instantly drawing multiple swords and rushing at Clara.

’This one is much stronger!’

Unable to deal with both of them, Clara hopped to her feet and raised her blades.

”Heh, one down!”

”Clara, more are coming!” Zara shouted, her voice sounded shaken.

”It’s fine~ this sister is strong.”

As one of the women who met Nikolai later on, her benefits should have been less than those of his other wives.

If not for her special physique and blood, at least.

A black mist wafted from her body, masking her movements, allowing her to analyse the guard’s sudden rush. He slashed across her chest, stabbed at her face and cut across her thighs with his last blade.

With a tap of her foot, Clara’s body flung back several inches, her right leg snapped out, kicking the fourth blade from the Djinn’s attack.

The blade launched into the air, slicing through his fingers and cheek.

”Argh! Stay still, you little bitch!”

”Captain!”

Several guards called out from the distance, causing Clara’s eyes to sharpen. ’Too many dogs, have to kill more.’ She glanced at Zara before another blade flashed across her cheek, slicing the skin ever so slightly.

A small red line on her cheek dripped with blood.

”You!”

Clara’s pupils shrank as darkness swallowed her figure completely, and she vanished with rapid steps.

Clang!

The guard shouted, his blades chipping the stone floor, missing Clara’s figure, as he snapped his head from side to side, looking for her.

”Where the hell did she go?! Find her!” He motioned for the men in the distance, who quickly spread out and started searching. ”The bitch can’t hide forever!”

Meanwhile, the fairy held Zara’s waist and stood in front of the portal, her eyes focused on the thralls in the distance.

[It’s alright, you can go first... these idiots cannot enter Earth without permission.]

The faint harmonic voice of the leading thrall reached Clara’s ears, but she felt no sense of ease hearing her say to leave. ”Zara, the situation is a little dangerous.” So she asked for another person’s opinion. ”If we leave now, they cannot stop us or follow, and the gate cannot close so fast.”

She glanced at Zara, who watched the scuffles below, along with two guards heading towards their area while swinging their swords.

”If we leave, what will happen to the other women?”

Clara opened her mouth but hesitated, ”I don’t know.” She closed her eyes and adjusted her mood after the sudden fight, her energy starting to rage within her stomach, the crackle of black lightning now arcing from her hands every few seconds. ”Death?”

”I... don’t like that.”

”Hm?”

Zara noticed Clara’s nonchalant expression, as if asking her why.

”Nikolai might be sad if they were to die or get hurt.”

”...Mm...”

She glanced at Zara’s face, then back to the thrall, now surrounded by more than twenty guards. ”Zara, enter the portal and wait for us.” Before the Djinn could say she would join in and fight too, Clara kicked her into the portal.

As she fell, Clara spoke again. ”Don’t blame me, sister. Nikolai asked me to keep you safe.”

Without waiting for the Djinn to reply, Clara’s figure dissipated into the air as she rushed to face the guards with the Thralls.

As she fell, Zara’s stomach tightened, her back enveloped by the cooling sensation of the portal, while anger welled up inside her.

’That girl!’

She knew her safety was important, but Zara also knew his meaning wasn’t just for her; Clara was also important to Nikolai. However, as she submerged into the comforting purple jelly, her body floated in the air, stopping her thoughts momentarily.

’Somehow it’s like returning home.’

Her thoughts drifted from the chaos of Al’Qutar, and she began to immerse herself in the memories of Earth, spending time at the Volkov estate. Two minutes passed, in the cold, squishy sphere, and finally, it pushed her out.

Vwoom!

With a low noise, she landed on the large arena stage, a familiar place where she escaped to avoid responsibility several years before.

”Phew!”

Zara watched the portal while biting her lower lip.

She could enter now, avoiding any troubles and then save Clara from any danger.

’Should I go?’

Her foot didn’t move at first; somehow, it felt as heavy as lead when she thought of the careful planning Nikolai and her brother spent the entire night pulling off to avoid her uncle from becoming curious.

”Madame Zara.”

Before she could take a step, an elegant voice called out from behind.

”Eh?”

Zara turned to find four rows of perfectly arranged maids, all in the full French-style uniform, with a fiery ginger woman leading them.

”Leona?!”

When their eyes met, the aggressive look on Leona’s face faded and softened into a gentle smile as she nodded. ”It’s good that you’re unharmed, but...” Her eyes darted around as if looking for something before returning her gaze to Zara.

”Where are Clara and the supporting thralls?”

”Ah, that is...” For a moment, she froze, but then Clara’s determined expression and Nikolai’s fleeting face appeared in her mind. ”Clara remained to help the Thralls fighting off the guards sent to watch the portal by Balthazar.”

Leona remained silent for a moment before she nodded. ”Understood.”

She then lifted her right arm and called out several words. ”Epsilon, Delta, head into the portal and support our fairy.” The maid leader then watched as twelve women rushed into the portal in complete synch.

”Don’t worry, Madame Zara. Your choice to come here was the best one.”

’Ah, well, I didn’t choose... Clara kicked me.’

But she remained silent on that.

”Let’s head to the mansion where you’ll be safe, and we can prepare for what comes next.”

Leona didn’t waste time; she immediately arranged the remaining maids and spread them out to protect Zara. The Djinn saw for the first time just how capable and talented one of Nikolai’s wives was.

She couldn’t help but clench her fists and look away.

’Even his maid wife is so talented and calm, I need to keep improving.’

With the flash of maids entering the portal, Zara left the old arena to find ten different high-end cars waiting, each with a maid sitting in the driver’s seat. ”Amazing.” She couldn’t help but find it amazing that in such a short amount of time, they managed to arrange everything like this.

Leona pressed her keys, and a larger, customised black M12 opened its doors vertically, and the firm leather seats with memoryfoam cushioning appeared.

”Let’s go, Princess.” Her smile was much calmer the moment Leona dropped into her seat with a bounce.

Vrooom!

With the low growl of the engine, a series of lights lit up behind them, the night atmosphere of S-City illuminated by the brilliant white glow.

’So comfortable!’

Zara sat in the passenger seat, her buttocks and back sinking into the pleasant material. She covered her mouth to avoid letting out a strange sound as the support helped alleviate the soreness from her night with Nikolai.

.

Meanwhile, back in Al’Qutar, Clara stood with a single dagger crossing her chest, a deep wound dripping with blood from her right shoulder. The mist that had completely submerged her earlier now barely hides her legs.

”Ha...” Her short, sharp breaths continued as she faced the remaining guards.

Around the portal, dozens of bodies lay lifeless, creating a hellish scene with blood pooling under their feet. Behind her, the wounded Thralls all held their hidden weapons and waited for their orders.

[Little Fairy, we are in trouble...]

Tanya transferred her voice, the sound now hoarse like something had scratched her throat.

”It’s fine, we can still use the portal. Do anything you can to keep alive.”

As the fight progressed, Clara spoke more and more.

Some might believe this was a good sign; compared to her usual quiet and stoic self, it appeared like she was becoming comfortable. However, the thick beads of sweat pouring down her cheeks told another story.

’Can I hold out?’

She flicked her dagger, inching forward, creeping to gain whatever advantage she could, but the enemy leader wasn’t weak. His strength and foresight didn’t lack when it came to his aura, which reached the Elder stage.

”Commander, we can wipe them out! I’m sure that they are related to the princess!”

”...”

Despite their urging, the commander held two curved greatswords in his hands; it was one of these that rendered Clara’s arm unusable.

’Those arms are tricky.’

Unlike a weak Djinn, the old man had thoroughly mastered the art of war; he summoned his arms using Soul Force, letting them hover in the air, able to attack independently while she dealt with his main body.

This unfair advantage led to several wounded Thralls and the current situation.

”Girl, you are quite formidable for someone so small and with only two arms. I commend you for keeping them alive this far. But my lord isn’t one of great patience, and thus I will go all out on you from now on.”

”Heh, impotent old man, bragging is all you do!”

She’d grown accustomed to using the Djinn’s common tongue for slang and curse words, always adding little insults to make the men agitated.

The old man’s brows furrowed as he gripped his swords.

”Little girl, there are some things that should never be said, even if true!”

Clara held out her dagger with unrelenting eyes.

”Then come!”
