590: Chapter 3: The Feeling of Being Alive 590: Chapter 3: The Feeling of Being Alive Dim, amber-red vision.

The stone bridge leading to the BOSS room door, like stalactites resembling beastly fangs, the constant echoing roars of monsters, and the numerous corpses on the ground.

The tense music that surrounded the ears, and… the dense array of options and interface-like things that appeared beside him.

Lanxiu couldn’t feel any pain, as if in the blink of an eye, the world had turned into such a scene—here, it stood out as the dungeon he was in just moments ago in the game.

And the time was clearly right after the strategy was completed and the team disbanded.

After taking a while to slightly get used to his current vision, Lanxiu…

Qianxiu began to familiarize himself with the options and buttons appearing around him. “I see, you can hide and activate them with thoughts… turn off the music.”

Qianxiu began to check everything on himself—nothing was lost, the only difference being that he possessed a realistic vision, touch, and even a keen awareness of his own body’s state here.

Additionally, he searched through all the options but could not find a way to log out.

No… it’s not just realistic, it is real!

The armor clanked as he moved, the weight of the equipment pressing against his skin, and even the contact between his feet and the ground.

Qianxiu looked with a somewhat complex gaze at the road he walked behind him, a whole solitary stone bridge, which clearly seemed very short in the game, but now felt like he had been walking for quite some time.

A long stretch of road. “How long has it been… since I walked such a long road?” Qianxiu stared in a daze at the stone bridge for a long, long time before he slightly came back to his senses.

But at this moment, he suddenly felt a piercing pain emerge from his back!

This sensation, like being struck directly by a giant iron hammer, made Qianxiu instinctively let out a shrill scream!

He fell entirely to the ground, the tumbling made the armor on his body cause him a lot of discomfort!

Qianxiu looked in terror at the scene before him through the orange-red light around him!

Monster!

An elite monster wandering inside the dungeon!

A Minotaur with a massive build, holding a stone club!

It was staring with large, bloodshot eyes, drooling, and slowly stepping forward!

So gigantic!

At least half a person taller than Qianxiu! “The dungeon has already been completed, why are there still monsters!” Qianxiu clenched his teeth and stood up, feeling the pain from being ambushed, he suddenly realized: “I understand, I’ve truly become a ‘person’ inside Emerald Fantasy!”

Qianxiu gritted his teeth and still drew his Sword, which he had temporarily enhanced before entering the dungeon, hurriedly activating the corresponding skills.

A faint flash of light burst suddenly from his body, a surge of power flowing incessantly, causing Qianxiu’s spirits to soar! “This feeling…”

He shouted, swinging the sword in his hand, releasing skills, and madly charged towards the Minotaur!

He could even, with his operations, deplete the BOSS inside the room alive, regarding this elite mini-monster outside as not worth his attention.

Even though it was completely different from sitting in front of a computer…

But the actions given by skill releases did not change!

It just switched to first-person perspective… like VR technology!

However, here it’s the real world!

When a huge gash was cut open in the Minotaur’s chest, and it finally fell powerless to the ground with a silent thud against the earth, Qianxiu gently exhaled, feeling the warmth of the blood splattering on his face.

Hearing the game system’s prompt, Qianxiu subconsciously smiled. “This feeling… this is what makes one’s blood boil…” Qianxiu fiercely stabbed his Sword into the Minotaur’s heart, grimacing: “This is… the feeling of being alive!” …

As a popular online fantasy RPG game, just like the features the developers mentioned before launching, players could start experiencing its benefits before entering.

Qianxiu walked through the first town beyond the Novice Village in this area, observing the current time, daytime, so it was very crowded here.

Since character creation was done by scanning the avatar image uploaded by the players, it was almost incomparable to those from former games, nearly everything on the street looked similar, and the only differences left were names, skin, and other outwardly flashy but insubstantial things.

Of course, players could modify the scanned 3D avatar and physique so… basically, except for some NPCs who are simple for convenience, players’ appearances were probably different—though some opted for the in-game character model templates for convenience.

But for Qianxiu, this 3D modeling, though very well done online, was not comparable to the current real-person perspective.

It was like being in a medieval town of Another World, everything here was incredibly fresh to Qianxiu—he even forgot the pale and powerless feeling he had sitting in a dim, dirty room just an hour ago! “Even the sunshine doesn’t seem glaring anymore.” Qianxiu instinctively looked up at the gentle but not blazing sun over the town.

At this moment, a few familiar faces entered Qianxiu’s sight.

It’s them…

Overlord Paper Tiger and his team who deleted him from their friend list in the dungeon.

Apparently, they also saw Qianxiu – because after killing the BOSS and completing the city entrance task, they gained the entry qualification even though they disbanded without sharing the rewards.

Overlord Paper Tiger and his team ignored him and pretended not to see him, directly entering the street’s weapon and item shop.

Qianxiu silently glanced at them and instinctively opened his friend list – it was empty, not a single avatar. “If you can’t keep up, you eventually can’t play together, and those who are incompetent will ultimately be eliminated…”

Qianxiu shook his head…

He wasn’t an ordinary player.

He was, in fact, a game tester and had secured a testing spot before this game started…

But when it came to the interview with the game company, he was rejected.

Qianxiu entered a restaurant, ordered some food, and experienced the sensation of eating – it felt real beyond doubt.

He quickly started pondering over how he would survive in this game world – obviously, money was an issue because in the game, only killing monsters of the same level or higher would drop money, and even that was scarce at the beginning.

Of course, this meager income was entirely insufficient for self-improvement, but if it was just for city life, it was more than enough – but obviously, Qianxiu wasn’t willing to come to such a world just to become an ordinary townsfolk.

Outside, there were still many players continuously entering various shops, while a small portion were constantly pestering NPCs with questions – just some simple game routines.

As for what they were discussing, it was too far for Qianxiu to hear.

Suddenly, a player turned into a white light and vanished on the spot, catching Qianxiu’s attention, “Logged out… or was it a connection drop?”

Qianxiu shook his head, not paying it much mind…

The game’s degree of freedom was very high, after the ultimate dungeon of the Novice Village, except for a few large expansion packs waiting for levels to rise before opening, everything was left to the players’ own exploration.

At this moment, suddenly, a group of people appeared on the street, with a dozen knights opening the path, followed by a luxurious carriage. “The Lord is coming!

The Lord is coming!”

People outside were shouting loudly, and everyone on either side of the street huddled to the roadsides, bowing their heads in submission – Qianxiu was taken aback, frowning, “The parade started so soon?

Oh right… quite a few have already completed the novice dungeon.”

Thinking this, Qianxiu settled the bill and headed out. …

A small fireball, about the size of a fist, slowly struck a red rabbit-like creature squatting dazedly in the grass.

Then it exploded, finally causing the rabbit to disappear, leaving behind only a piece of red fur. “This is the basic Fireball Technique… quite fun.

You Ye, did your experience increase?” “Yes, it increased.

I’m now at level zero, with ninety-five experience points, master!” “Hmm, me too…

What should we do next?” “Hmm…

Help Granny Sun in the village find evidence of her daughter-in-law secretly meeting Master Huang at the village edge,” the maid said, checking the task list: “And… oh, help Granny Sun’s son deliver a love letter to Master Huang’s daughter.” “This task…” Boss Luo shook his head and suddenly chuckled, “Well, playing games occasionally is good for health.

Hmm… let’s play for another half hour, then we’ll go back.” … …

Knock, knock, knock —! “Mr.

Lan!

Are you there?

Mr.

Lan!!

If you’re here, speak!

You haven’t paid rent for days!

If you don’t open the door, I’m coming in!”

The landlord uncle knocked hard on the door again, and finally angrily opened the rental room’s door.

A sour stench immediately hit him in the face…

The landlord, pinching his nose, turned on the room’s light and was startled.

His tenant lay on the table, motionless! “Hey, hey!

Don’t scare me!

What’s wrong?

Hey, hey!!”

The landlord couldn’t wake this haggard, unshaven, and emaciated man, and quickly started calling for an ambulance in fright. “Yes… seems like he’s in a coma, can’t wake him up!

Not a relative, I’m the landlord…

Medical history?

How should I know?

I’m not his dad!

However, he’s disabled, can’t feel his legs, always in a wheelchair, does that count?”
