Chapter 2336: Attacked in a Northern Village III

When the mist from the explosion of snow cleared, the sight of Peridot in her Ryujin form and Levin Cloud could be seen. Both of them are unharmed but are both encased in a large ice dome. One could even see that the ice dome is cracked due to the attack of the Frost Elf Leader.

”This is getting dangerous! I had to use a lot of mana just to create a spell that could instantly protect us. That enemy leader is at a tier of a boss monster that is as strong as a raid monster. He did not have any problem doing that attack earlier.” Peridot stated as she could see that the enemy leader is still brimming with power.

”If it comes to a battle of attrition then we might be able to win as they do not have a healer. We have plenty of healers on our side.” Levin Cloud stated.

”Ok then. I shall go on the offensive now. Support me with all that you have.” Peridot stated as she roared to shatter the cracked ice dome that protected them earlier.

”Great Blessing of Life!” Levin Cloud casted as he used a powerful buffing spell in a wide area so that all allies will be affected.

[You have been blessed by the Envoy of the Twin Gods using a Life Attribute spell. The spellʼs efficacy will be increased.]

[Mana Regeneration has been increased by 100%. Additional 50% bonus due to the increase in spell efficacy.]

”Thanks! Elemental Catastrophe!” Peridot chanted as she gathered up all the elements on her mouth.

The power of the elements combining into a mass of unidentifiable energy that even made the Frost Elf Leader look serious. The Frost Elf Leader raised his sword once more and is about to launch another attack towards Peridot and Levin Cloud, but a brilliant rainbow light suddenly shined above him. Frey already entered her Goddess Descent mode and borrowed the power of the Goddess Freyja.

Frey infuse her spear with the energy of the Goddess Freyja and released long ranged attacks that looked like light whips cutting through the cold air. Due to the relentless attacks that Frey used, the Frost Elf Leader had to protect himself from the barrage of light-based attacks. Even the Frost Elf Mage that is beside him is using spells to conjure up ice barriers to keep Freyʼs attacks from reaching her as there is splash damage.

”That is good, bestie! Eat this long-eared scum!” Peridot shouted as she released the Elemental Catastrophe beam from her mouth.

”I will not be offended by that.” Levin Cloud thought as he healed all of the warriors that were injured.

”Frostfall!” The Frost Elf Leader stated as he suddenly infused his sword with more mana compared to his earlier attacks.

A powerful barrier that looked like snow was swirling around in a circular motion is conjured up by the Frost Elf Leader. This powerful barrier added to their defenses as it blocked the powerful Elemental Catastrophe beam is completely blocked. All the attacks that Frey and Peridot did have all been blocked by the Frost Elf Leader, but he is not the only problem.

The Frost Elf Leader looked at the Frost Elf Mage and the latter understood what that meant. The Frost Elf Mage suddenly took the dagger from her waist and slit her palm. She then proceeded to chant in a language that only Levin Cloud could decipher as it was the language of the elementals.

The entire area suddenly started to rumble as if the snow and cold wind itself is bending to the will of the Frost Elf Mage. The Frost Elf Mageʼs body suddenly started to turn half translucent as if she was becoming an incorporeal being. The transformation only stopped when the entire body of the Frost Elf Mage turned into something like an ice sculpture.

”She turned into a Half Elemental! Is that even possible?” Levin Cloud stated in shock as he knows that there should be no spell that can change your race.

”I am having trouble controlling the mana in the area.” Peridot suddenly stated which made Levin Cloud gulp in terror.

The reason why Elementals are feared is not because they are immune to the element that they are but because they can forcefully control mana in the surroundings. They have more refined control of mana compared to a dragon as long as the mana in their area is their respective element. Right now, they are in the northern continent fighting against a half frost elemental.

[You cannot summon the Tree of Life and Death due to a special relic related to the Winter Tree in the area.]

”What?!” Levin Cloud exclaimed in shock because this is the first time he saw this notification.

He knew of the Winter Tree as it is some offshoot of the Tree of Life that thrives in cold regions, but this is the first time he learned of such effect. He also knows that the Winter Tree from the legends should have been destroyed when the Frost Elemental King was killed. Unless the cursed Frost Elves used the dying parts of the Winter Tree to create weapons but that is even more taboo than them eating the Frost Elemental King.

”Eternal Winter!” The Frost Elf Mage stated as she called upon the coldest winds of the northern continent to blow across the entire area.

In just a span of a second, the area that is supposed to be safe from the cold is now covered in layers of frost. Even the tribal warriors that have great resistance against the cold could be seen getting frozen. Frey even had to create a powerful magical explosion to create a way for her to protect herself. Peridot protected those around her by forcefully using the Heat Wave spell using her Dragon Tongue but that also reduced her stamina.

”As the elders said, a Forest Guardian is no easy prey. Still, the power given by the Eternally Starving One should be able to confine him. Use it and capture the Frost Guardian. The humans hold no value for us as long as we get that strong Forest Guardian.” The Frost Elf Leader stated.

”As you command, my liege.” The Frost Elf Mage stated as she suddenly gathered all the mana in the area to increase her size.

The Frost Elf Mage that only had the size of a human suddenly grew gigantic as she made use of the power of her half elemental state. In this gigantic state, the Frost Elf Mage then proceeded to dive with her body made of wind and ice. The descent of a large being is not something that could be survived without any casualties.

”Use the Mythical Flame Stone in my Inventory! Inferno!” Peridot shouted as she combined the strength of a sacrificial elemental stone and her dragon tongue.

The entire area around Peridot suddenly burned as she used all of her mana to conjure the heat needed for the spell. Pillars of flame rose up to combat the giant half elemental crashing down towards them. The flame pillars managed to diffuse the cold that is being generated by the enemy, but the Frost Elf Mage is not the only enemy.

The Frost Elf Leader raised his sword once again, but he did not attack this time. He released a large amount of cold energy and directed it towards the Frost Elf Mage. This large amount of cold energy that the Frost Elf Mage suddenly gained became enough fuel for her to overpower the Mythical Tier spell that Peridot used. The pillars of flame suddenly got affected by the cold and created a powerful steam explosion.

Peridot got hit by the steam explosion and lost her concentration. Peridot got swallowed up by the giant Frost Elf Mage and is frozen in mid-air. Frey saw this happen and charged towards the Frost Elf Mage in retaliation. Frey could deal double damage to enemies that deal status ailments to her allies.

”That will be the last of you, little Valkyrie. Frozen Prison” The Frost Elf Leader stated as he swung his sword at Frey.

A beam of cold ice shot towards Frey without even her noticing. Frey could not dodge the attack that was aimed directly at her. She is then trapped in cage of ice along with her mount which also stopped her from doing any movement and attacks. Since Frey could not move as well, the Frost Elf Mage ran her large ghostly hands towards Frey and froze her as well.
