Eternal Thief

Chapter 1657: The Real Hunt Being! (2)

When Ace saw the disciples of the Weaponized Mystic Haven, he instantly sensed their weapon intents, and they were profound and sharp, while their cultivation far surpassed Kharon Veyth’s original level. They were clearly elites.

At the center stood a tall, dark-scaled devil with narrow golden eyes and an arrogant expression.

Ace’s eyes flashed with astonishment because this dark-scaled devil had the strongest sword intent he had ever seen, and he had even awakened a sword heart, and his sword heart seemed to be just a step away from reaching an advanced stage, just like Ace!

’He’s the Mystic Weapon Disciple, Vael Drakhar!’ Ace instantly recognized him from Kharon Veyth’s memories.

Vael Drakhar was the son of a Grand Lord Realm Mystic Elder within the Weaponized Mystic Haven. He was a genuine genius among geniuses of Sword Path and quite famous.

Vael possessed terrifying talent in the Law of Sword, but his personality was notoriously nasty and overbearing. He enjoyed controlling weaker disciples beneath him and often used them as disposable shields during dangerous missions.

Furthermore, since Vael has a status of one of the ten ’Mystic Weapons’ of the Weaponized Mystic Haven, a status only granted to the top ten seed disciples of the Weaponized Mystic Haven. These disciples with Mystic Weapon statuses were all seedlings that might become the future Mystic King.

That’s why no one dared to offend Vael or refuse his commands because, despite many Mystic Elders’ awareness about his character, they overlooked it, especially because his father was just a step away from reaching the Half-Abyssal King Realm, and might even become a Mystic Grand Lord!

As for Kharon, he wasn’t anywhere near Vael’s prestigious, and had only seen him four or five times in his life at important events of the Weaponized Mystic Haven, not to mention the former preferred to stay as far away from this dark star just in case he would be forced to become Vael’s next scapegoat.

Lastly, Ace had also seen Vael with the Weaponized Mystic Haven entourage led by the Mystic Grand Lord Octavia when he was Nomad, but at that time, he hadn’t paid the latter any heed.

But now, with Kharon’s identity and memories, he has gotten to know Vael. He was even slightly surprised about why the Weaponized Mystic Haven would send one of the ten Mystic Weapons inside this deathly trial, and his father even allowed it.

However, with Vael’s sword heart and his cultivation, his life wasn’t actually in any danger as long as he didn’t encounter a peak realm Abyssal Lord, and the opportunity to enter the Evernight Sanctuary was simply too alluring for them to pass on.

While Ace was assessing Vale and his little group of disciples surrounding him, who were clearly his followers, Vael’s golden eyes also swept across Ace before narrowing slightly.

”Oh? Why haven’t I seen you in the Mystic Spearhead? Could it be you weren’t selected by the Mystic Grand Lord and came here on your own?”

Despite Vael’s mild tone, his voice carried obvious authority, and he had already guessed the reason behind Kharon’s presence here.

After all, the Weaponized Mystic Haven had already announced that anyone could enter the Evernight Trial and try their luck, except for their core disciples. But once they enter, their life and death will be in their hands.

That’s why those disciples who were selected were all powerful elites, and they were fully capable of entering the Evernight Sanctuary. But there were still disciples who didn’t want to resign to their mediocre fate and chose to enter here on their own risk, just like Kharon.

It is the same for all organizations, as they all wanted to seize this opportunity to rise above the masses and change their destiny.

Ace remained silent and calm under Vael’s arrogant gaze; the latter clearly couldn’t sense Ace’s advanced sword heart with his current proficiency in the Sword Law.

Unless Vael summoned his life sword or a powerful spirit treasure like Killing Slaughter, the former won’t know he was provoking someone he can’t handle.

At that moment, Vael’s gaze shifted toward the pale-blue ring on Ace’s finger, and instantly, disdain appeared in his eyes.

”You are just a mere Hunt, not even qualified to be a Half-Moon Hunter?”

The surrounding disciples immediately frowned as though seeing something filthy. After all, despite their short stay in the Evernight Trial, they had already figured out the hierarchy of the Hunter’s Hunt.

The top of the food chain was naturally the Lone Hunter, who would be everyone’s target once the trial officially began. Many considered him just a lamb to be slaughtered, but they all knew the guy couldn’t be ordinary.

The next were the Full-Moon Hunters; they were all elites of the Evernight Council with an Evernight Invitation, then the Half-Moon Hunters, participants like Vael and his group, the elites of other organizations, and genius-level talent and bloodlines.

Finally, at the lowest rank were the Hunts, those with the smallest chances of success or with talent below average, at least that’s what these guys and almost everyone like them believed.

While in truth, there were many powerful geniuses among the Hunts as well, but they hadn’t just shown themselves yet, and remained hidden just in case they’d scare away the hunters.

That’s why Vael and his followers still thought that everyone with Hunt status was trash, while the really powerful ones were hidden and biding their time against them.

Anyhow, since Vael had considered Kharon a trash that he should’ve been in front of him, but the realm Kharon was first captured by the three-eyed devil, and then Ace killed the three-eyed devil, and Kharon became collateral damage.

But Vael didn’t know this as he sneered openly with the others.

”Well, well... it seemed we actually have a Hunt trash among us.”

”What a humiliation for our sect.”

Vael’s gaze turned cold and dismissive, ”We wasted our time.”

The surrounding disciples chuckled mockingly.

Vael waved his hand lazily as a cruel grin spread across his face, ”Don’t let me see you during the trial, little Hunt. Or I’ll personally claim your head for ruining our Weaponized Mystic Haven’s reputation.”

The group laughed disdainfully before turning around and leaving immediately.

Ace wasn’t even given the chance to speak, but honestly, he preferred it that way as a faint sneer surfaced beneath his hood.

But at that moment, A melodious voice suddenly sounded directly within his mind, ”Oh, what a rare sight to see the mighty Sky Stealer being bullied by a bunch of ragtag. But since you’ve come here so quickly, I’m in a good mood. So, do you want me to skin them alive?”
